Food and service were wonderful!Presentation of the dishes is well thought out and appealing. My favorite was the grilled octopus and the cheesecakeIf I can make the suggestion to the owners- the menu is impossible to read and made for a frustrating experience trying to pick dishes The way the menu was designed with the tiny font- difficult to read font, it had to be turned multiple ways to be able to make sense of it- wish it was redesigned to make for a seamless experience to match the food and the service I didn't want to reduce the stars because of the menu experience. But it was not a plus.

Awesome Spanish Tapas place. Food is pretty authentic, start with the Tapas - anchoives, paptas bravas, gambas(prawn) negras are certified. The Paella Mar y Montana is perfectly done with ample Seafood & a beautiful crust. If you are at SFO Wisherman's Wharf, it's a must place to checkout, reservation suggested. If it's not cold or windy, sit outside to hear the ocean.

Innovative Spanish cuisine. Hip cocktails. Beautiful setting. Very expensive. We had the most tender and delicious octopus I've ever tasted. The shrimp was luscious. I always wonder about serving an order of three for two people. Portions of tapas are tiny but beautifully served. Fun location looking out over the bay. Lively bar scene.

Came here for a team celebration. And the servers were on point. The place was just a vibe. Loved every second of being there. Very classy. We ordered a ton of food, but my favorite was the tomahawk steak! It was drool worthy and juicy. The drinks were so pretty and so tasty. The churro dessert was also one of my favorites. Super pricey, so glad I went here for a work lunch. May probably come back on a special occasion only.

Well here I go, my awaited review, and finally got here. Being that I am part Spanish from my maternal grandparents being from Southern Spain, I am quite the critic of "Spanish food" after all, I was raised on it all my life!! So when I go to dinner for either tapas or just a traditional meal, I am looking for something Spanish that is on point"!Located at the hustle and bustle point of the Embarcadero, lies this little flirtatious venue, for indeed that name Coqueta denotes a flirt or flirtatious woman. So let's see if the food with flirt my authentic Spanish genes within me to carry me over to Spain. :-)I felt that the ambiance was very nice and the interior was elegant yet simple. DId I feel like I was in Spain somewhere by the interior or exterior, not really this felt more Californian than Spanish. I did not feel like I was in the mediterranean or on any Costa in Spain, however that has zero to do with the food. I think when Michael Chiarello was still alive and putting together his take on Spanish food he did a great job. After all being born in an Italian American family, he had a great sense of what Spanish food should look and taste like. After all both Italy and Spain have had a long history of interaction, and their cuisines carry some similarities, with an exception of Spanish food on a whole especially in the south hailing more to their Arabic/ Moorish roots. This gem did not let me down on that!I want to be very forthcoming and honest here, if you think you will get away with an inexpensive full meal here with tapas, drinks, main and dessert..think again! I would say for 2 people you are roughly looking at $250.00 + when it is all said and done. Would I return? I most certainly would. The items that I touched on were the following, and I would recommend to anyone that would like a taste of Spain on the wharf. My recommendations would be: DATILES- ( dates) CHAMPIONES- ( Mushrooms) JAMON IBERICO (imported sliced sausage) MANCHEGO- ( Cheese) OLIVOS DEL VENEDO ( Olives marinated) Now for the Main-We shared a Gaucho Bistec( Large Tomahawk steak in marinade) wonderful- then PAELLA MAR Y MONTAñA.Desserts:Well we were full so basically a few bites shared of this which was new to me a MANCHEGO CHEESECAKESo my final take on this, this reminded me of a Spanish restaurant that was 90% authentic with like a 10% Catalan ( regional area of Spain) twist. As you may or may not know, Catalunya is really all in istelf autonomous like the other 16 additional regions of Spain, but they even have their own culture, food and language. When Catalan is thrown in ....its not as authentic to me , but perhaps since that is not the region that my family is from . All in all I would return again and hope you give it a go!! Viva España y Olé! Buen Provecho!!

Last time, I came here for dinner and sat outside. I remembered the ambiance and food being good, so we returned here for lunch on a Friday. We were seated indoors with reservations on a wooden table. Even though it looks small on the outside, it's spacious inside with high ceilings, wooden accents, and Spanish art. Our order:Pulpo a la Parrilla: $23.00+Potatoes were soft and tender.-Compared to last time, the Spanish octopus was dry. Maybe it was left too long on the grill? -Salty and spicyPaella Mar y Montaña: $69.00+Good amount of head-on gulf prawns, clams, and mussels.+Good amount of thinly sliced chorizo+Fresh English peas added sweetness and pops of color.+Socarrat AKA crispy rice at the bottom of the pan.-Bomba rice seemed a bit underdone.Paella De Tinta Black Paella: $72.00+Good amount of head-on gulf prawns, clams, mussels, and calamari.+Fire roasted piquillo peppers added sweetness and pops of color.+Socarrat AKA crispy rice at the bottom of the pan.-Bomba rice seemed a bit underdone.Other items I tried during my previous visit:+Mar y Montaña "Sea & Mountain"+Setas al Ajillo+Manchego Cheesecake LollipopsSide notes:1.) 5% San Francisco Employee Ordinance Surcharge is added to all checks.2.) Hot water available upon request3.) Paella takes 30-40 minutes.4.) Limited street parking: There were plenty of spots across the street when they opened, but they were gone by the time we left.*Verdict: 3.5 starsThere were a lot of misses during this visit, which was disappointing since the food was really good last time.

Very cute restaurant on the Embarcadero. The squid ink paella was perfectly cooked and was very flavorful. Also, thoroughly enjoyed the appetizers, drinks, and desserts here. The reason why I'm not giving this place 5 stars is because I've had better paellas that were less expensive; however, this is a solid choice if you're in San Francisco. Parking can be found either by street or nearby paid parking lots.

Came out for lunch and enjoyed just about everything. I missed out on photos of the menu and the first 4 dishes or so but overall dishes were great my favorite were the Paella de tinta black paella. The seafood was cooked perfectly and the rice had wonderful flavoring which was both rich and tasty. The drinks were great! even the non-alcholic ones. Atmostphere was a bit crowded, but it is a small restaurant so I understand the need to fit as many people in as possible. However, with the price you're paying I do wish we had a little more breathing room. All in all, I would definetly come back.

If I could give a place more than 5 stars, COQUETA would be that special place. From the drinks to the food to the service, every part of our experience was beyond lovely. We started with some cocktails that blew our socks off (I especially recommend The Castro and the Golden Gate Daisy); they were unique, presented beautifully, and arrived at our table quickly which is always appreciated. Seriously some of the best drinks I've had in my years living in the city . Next is the tapas - wow. Every. Single. Tapas. Dish. We. Had. Was. Astoundingly. Good. From the Bocadillo La Casa "Bikini" to the Patatas Bravas to the Calabacines a la Brasa... this is one of the very few places that was SO good, we ordered more after that initial trio just to experience more of the menu.Lastly, special kudos to the incredible staff. Never was there an empty water glass at our table - they were so attentive, kind, and generous with their time and energy. This entire dining experience is memorable for more reasons than one, obviously. Highly recommend checking out this warm, trendy spot with some friends and loved ones. Can't wait to go back to try the Paella!! Thank you!!

Reservations - easily made online Parking - there was a ton of parking across the street in walking distance to the restaurant. Parking is around $8/hrDrinks - our party of 3 shared a sangria pitcher. Sangria was sweet and had a strong cinnamon/spice after taste. Food: Would reorder - the ensalada de kale, salmon ahumado, gambas negras, Would not reorder - huevos rotos, coquetas de pollo, churros. Overall great experience. Service was good. The check in process did take a lot of time though, and they only allow a 15 minute window even if you called and told them you are running late.
