I love this little place, which felt like a warm embrace after a couple of chilly days in the foggy city! I grew up all coastal California, and am always searching for that Mexican food that recalls the food in San Diego, mere steps from the border. This is that place! The warm welcome we were given walking in felt like coming home, and we were immediately shown to a seat by the window overlooking the heated patio. Light filtered in as we overlooked the menu selections. I chose a glass of Sauvignon Blanc, and my husband opted for ginger ale. They have a decent wine list and alcohol selection with a full bar. I made note of the Happy Hour served at the bar on weekday afternoons, from 3pm to 6pm, as this was a celebratory kind of place.Chips arrived immediately with three sauces, and our beverages. You know, those kind of chips you can't stop eating? I snacked away and decided on fish tacos while my husband got chicken enchiladas. The entrees arrived quickly on lovely ceramic plates, and we dug in. The tacos had the crispiest fish with the best, freshest taste on home made tortillas! My husbands enchiladas were rich and smooth tasting. The food is not too spice and relies on the freshness of each of the ingredients to pack its subtle punch. We lingered over our plates, enjoying the plain but elegant ambience of the place, and watching it quickly fill up with customers. We miss the Presidio Social Club, but this will be our new go-to place on the Presidio!

I was trying to think of a place to take my parents for lunch while also playing tour guide. I remembered I never took them to Tunnel Tops since it opened and that's when I remembered they opened a Colibri close by to it, so it was a perfect place to go. It's a cute restaurant with a nice outdoor patio, though we sat inside (which is still nice). I went with the carne asada and I thought it was pretty good. My parents went with chicken enchiladas and both of them seemed to enjoy it. My gf got an order of sopes which were delicious, though small since it's an appetizer. We also shared an order of guacamole and salsas which were all delicious and freshly made (they have a person making it in front of you!). I'd come back next time to try their cocktails or for dinner.

There are very few options to eat in the Presidio, and it is great there is one really good option. My wife and I came for brunch here on a Saturday morning and the place was hopping.Tacos de Huevo con Chorizo: 4/5. Pretty straight forward with 3 scrambled eggs, chorizo, onions, and black beans. It was unexpectedly served with a side of grilled mushrooms, because this was not on the menu (and I hate mushrooms), but my wife was happy to take them. The tacos were very flavorful. The black beans were cooked, pureed, and topped with cheese in a small cup and were surprisingly good.

Lovely spot in Presidio, walking distance to views of the Golden Gate Bridge and the beautiful beach! Colibri has a wonderful happy hour 3-6pm, we came by without a reservation on a Tuesday around 4:30pm and were seated immediately. Service was super friendly, they made our guacamole fresh too. Loved the wine, beer and cocktail selection. Great spot for a cozy get together with friends and family, especially for exploring the Presidio area after too!

Delicious Mexican food! We enjoyed the carne asada with nopales and cochinita pibil. With nice service and ambiance. The carne asada was cooked medium well and it was tender and juicy. The Tortillas are made themselves. I enjoyed the nopales and the black beans a lot. Especially with the bit of crema and crumbled cheese. It came with a Chile de arbol salsa, but it wasn't spicy at all. Wish it had some sort of kick. The cochinita was dressed very well. The meat could of been a little less stringy/dry, but flavor was good. I enjoyed the crispy fried Tortilla that was stuffed with black beans and topped with avocado. Overall, the price is more they what we're used to from LA, but it tasted good.

We were greeted right away and sat at our choice table outside. The service was fast and very friendly. And all the food was good. We started with table side guacamole. Yummy! I got an egg dish over chips and black beans. Basic but delicious. My wife got the chile relleno. She thought it was good but not as flavorful as she hoped and too mushy. The drinks - Bloody Mary and a Paloma were good. I'll try something more adventurous next time. All in all this is a very nice place with a great staff and feels extremely clean and well maintained.I'll be back to keep exploring the menu.

We were @the Presidio Theatre for an afternoon Hula show. We made reservation here for early dinner after the show. It was a very cute & inviting atmosphere. They have seating outdoors & indoors. The patio had a lot tables and a nice ambiance. We sat inside because it was warm outside. Inside had less tables but still a nice ambiance. Not too loud inside so you can have a conversation w/o talking loud. The staff were all so nice. They had a full bar. The food was so fresh and cooked perfectly. We had party of eight and everyone loved their dishes. We did not have dessert so cannot comment on it. I think the crowd from the theatre filled the restaurant so it was a bigger crowd than they expected. We did not wait too long to get our food even with a big crowd. We would definitely come back here to eat when we are in the Presidio.

You don't have to be in the Mission to get good authentic Mexican food. Part of being a yelper is stumbling upon good eats. Colibri Mexican Bistro is located in the Presidio. Chatting with the server I learned that they used to be in the union square area. If the weather is nice out, sit out in the patio. It's beautiful inside or out, but I prefer outside. The churro was worth every calorie and the tacos were amazing.Service was 5 stars and nothing short.

I love Mexico and Mexican food/music/culture so i was very excited to hear this place opened.Parking: there is a parking lot right in front but apple pay doesn't work for whatever reason.Hosts: really flexible, worked with us on our tardiness due to parking issue. We arrived Nov 3rd at 12:30- i think table 23: last one on the corner near the alter for dia de los muertos. We ordered drinks: one bloody mary, one lemon/mint agave mocktail and coffee. The waiter said the coffee would take 15 min. We accepted. We ordered the guac (yum) which was $18... possibly the most expensive guac i have ever seen... though they make it table side - as well as a side of plantanes and the queso fundito (queso was good but overpriced also) but we did not regret any of it. We moved on to a shared entree and huevos rancheros. I was quite disappointed with the huevos rancheros. I didn't really like the nopales with it. The beans were fantastic. I never thought i would say that about beans. Here is where everything went wrong. We were almost done with our meal and our friend still didn't have his coffee. We politely asked if it was still coming and the waiter rudely said "no - machine is broken". At this point i got mad because he had never bothered to inform us that the machine had mysteriously broken. I asked politely for an explanation and he said "thats just the way it is". I said he should have informed us 1h ago so we could order something else. His response was "let me see what i can do". LESS than 2min later: we had a full cup of coffee with no explanation...I understand servers are busy and i understand wait time but i dont understand lies AND no apology or explanation . Plus the waiter did not smile a single time in the 1.5h we were there.. it was not a warm hospitable experience as i would have expected it from a nice Mexican restaurant.Music: i wish it was mexican for setting purposes. When i wanted the bill there was no waiter in sight. I walked inside to pay but then they still "had to find the waiter". That took roughly 7-8 minutes rather than just ringing me up. Finally the host rang me up and asked if everything was ok. I said everything was ok except for our coffee situation. At this point our waiter came, interrupted us and said he would take over with me and i didn't need to explain further - i was startled. I said i WILL explain further. The host was kind and apologetic but mainly i just wanted to give feedback for them to improve. Then.. the waiter interrupted me and said "i didn't say the machine was broken" which was a total lie/joke.I told my friends the waiter said that and they laughed and roles their eyes. By the way our friend is waiter so he had been very patient and he felt it was all wrong also.ALSO: NONE of our plates were ever cleared for 1.5h including apps. I am the one that accumulated them in one spot. For a restaurant of this caliber this is not normal. I was facing empty dishes the entire meal.
