I ordered in advanced for catering for a party. I ordered and paid by phone. Once I received my receipt by text, I noticed that it had the address fro Alum Rock location. I told the lady that I was meaning to call the Hayward location, she said its the same thing, I can pick up my order at Hayward. After comfirming location, date and time twice, I thought everything was set.When we went to pick up our order at Hayward, they had no idea what we were talking about, even with a receipt of our order, they couldn't help because the had run out of carnitas. They told me to call the san jose location. We decided to drive there because they were going to close soon. I tried calling them at least 10 times on our way there to ensure they had my order and no one picked up the phone. They finally returned my call 40 minutes later saying they didn't recognize my number and thats why they didn't answer, isn't this a business!??When we finally arrived after going through terrible traffic on 880 at 5:30 pm from Hayward, the ladies where rude, where ignoring our knocks and phone calls when we arrived. I thought we were a least going to get some more carnitas or a discount. Nothing. They knew we came all the way from hayward because of their own mistake. People from Hayward location were blaming the people from San Jose location and vise versa. This was not a matter of who's fault it was, but to keep the customer happy. Our party was started really late and food was cold by the time we got home. Terrible experience. They just lost another customer.

I was in San Jose and had time to burn during the lunch hour. Decided to try Carnitas El Rincon-Alum Rock for some street tacos. Located in a strip mall with many narrow storefronts and banner signs, the restaurant is difficult to find. Look for the white metal security door. Parking is a challenge. As soon as you step in the restaurant, you are greeted with the delicious smell of carnitas. The restaurant is simple with three or four tables and a soda machine.The gal at the counter only spoke Spanish, or perhaps only chose to speak it. I was able to dust off my rusty Spanish and placed my order.The street tacos came heaped with chopped carnitas, with the traditional toppings of onion, cilantro and lime.I found the meat to be flavorful, but a bit dry. The red salsa was helpful in adding some heat and moisture.If I lived locally, I might try them again to see if they are usually more tender, but since I don't, I probably won't be back.

Best carnitas I've tried. I ordered by the pound I get the carnitas mixtas with comes with meat, cuerito buche & rib very well cooked great flavor the only thing is I Wish they gaved more salsas when you order by the pound great flavor and well cooked

They sold me old chicharron for a higher price! I don't recommend coming back here! Parking is really bad as well!

Absolutely delicious carnitas, I got the tacos and we're very happy with the quality of the food and the portion size. At first I thought their tacos were slightly overpriced but then when I saw that they were bigger than your average Street Taco I was happy to pay the little extra for a bigger portion.My only complaint was that their limes were not quite ripe yet and I'm sure that that is beyond their control and fluctuates with shipment and timing.You get two options with the meat meat only or a little bit of everything. I got the meat only option I might get adventurous the next time I go definitely returning delicious delicious delicious!

Yet another place that I'd wish I'd gone to sooner! I was hosting a mother's day lunch with my family now that we are all vaccinated and didn't want to spend the whole day cooking. I ordered carnitas for 8 people (7 lbs) and rice and beans. I chose carnitas mixta which includes buche and cueritos. I'm really picky about this because many places or cooks will make it all too salty, too greasy or too dry. Not this place! My family loved them so much that they kinda fought for the leftovers. Yes, there were leftovers! Everyone was able to fill themselves up so no skimping here. Granted, you shouldn't be eating a ton of carnitas so I felt this was the right amount. Don't forget the jalapeños on the side that they sell there- I think they may brine them there themselves? The rice was extra orangey and flavorful but not so much that it took away from everything else. It wasn't as fluffy as I like it but everyone enjoyed it. Yelp told me their beans were delicious and they were right! My family and I don't cook pinto beans but these were the right consistency of refried beans without being too watery. I called the order in on Tuesday for a Saturday so if it is a busy weekend, always call days in advanced. The service was great and prompt and I recommend it for any gathering! No pictures because we were too busy eating...

Horrible experience . I've been here before, and I've also been to the one on Alma many times. . Today I ordered two burritos, one regular and one super . I was very, very disappointed at the quality of the food. My super burrito was not even a super burrito. (It was a regular ) They both were hard. The meat was so dry and it seemed like the burritos had been sitting there for a long time. This is the first time the food has been horrible ,they also added a small container of meat in my order, which I did not order .I had called the location and asked to speak to a manager, but she kept asking me who I was . I tried explaining that I was a customer and what had happened but she said there was no manager there. I would never return to this location

Horrible service, I called to place an order for carnitas to pick up at 5:30 I arrived at 5:40 and was told it was closed they ran out of carnitas?? How does a business that has carnitas as its main item sell out? And close the doors earlier than announced? Don't take phone orders if your team members are deciding to close earlier than posted on the door and on the website.

Used the coupon thats here in yelp when you check in for 2lbs of carnitas 1 lbs of Rice and Beans and they claim its false, they should report it as false so that we dont look stupid when we try to use,I am very disappointed.
