Glen N. "I'm torn.Everything is very "four-star" about this place. The Garret reminds me of old-school Pizza Hut, this one being cavernous, dark, divey, and woody, with a bar area. All the workers were pleasant and attentive, which is why I am not giving it three stars. The food was not bad. We started with garlic fries, getting a decent amount of hot fries covered in a creamy diced garlic for $5. The build-your-own pizza wasn't cheap, but the medium seemed big. The pizza seemed flavorless, though we think the garlic fries had something to do with that. With a little parmesan and red pepper flake, I enjoyed it. I loved the crispy but doughy crust. The leftover pizza was better than any other leftover pizza. No self-service sodas, but refills are free. The problem is that we went at 5:30 on a Saturday, and it was full of kids. That makes it great for families, but not for people who aren't used to eating while kids scream talk at the top of their lungs. These unnecessarily loud kids all seemed to have Raiders fans for Dads so I couldn't really go up there and ask them to leash their kids or give them peanut butter to keep them from barking a while. If you think I'm being an old man, other reviewers agreed: "noisy kids" (Michael R); "a little too noisy to have a quiet conversation" (Rakesh B); "good for holding large gatherings but can be noisy." (Ed H); "ridiculously loud everywhere that the noise becomes UNTOLERABLE" (Yvette R); "arcade makes people feel they can let kids run free." (Anonymous); "Expect it to be loud with kids running around." (Lorraine C); "a lot of kids during the dinner rush." (Barney T); "People think it's Chuck E Cheese and let their kids literally run wild through this place...kids squealing and running through the table." (Jon C). "A ton of kids." (Killer Kitty). "The only downside of this place are the unattended whiny little snot-nosed kids that run around high on caffeine." (Patrick J)I loved the atmosphere, service, and food, but I would only return super late at night or while kids are in school or once I lose my hearing."

They had a DJ to my surprise and really gave the place a good vibe. We got lucky and were seated in a booth right as we walked in. They have ample parking, but also have street parking available. I got a Moscow mule which was good and some Cajun fries. The Cajun fries had a kick to them if dipped in the chipotle mayo. The service was great with the team checking in every 10 mins to see if we need another drink or food item. I would highly recommend you check it out.Just wanted to add that I went and they had the Formula 1 Australian GP Practice 2 playing so I think they play the Formula 1 GP's here. Great to know I found a spot where I can go watch and have a drink!"

Casual environment, great for sitting with a friend, relaxed environment enjoying some good bar food. It's been here decades, and more decades to come! Burgers, hot diggities dawgs, sammies, salads, crazy spiced egg thingy, pizza and much more! Excellent service, nice peeps serving up grub to citizens in need of some munching. I ordered the BLAT, spicy deviled egg and wings served crispy with no sauce. Everything was great and good quality. However, die hard fans don't get mad at me...I do not like the spicy deviled eggs. I understand it's a menu icon and especially with area locals but my kind of deviled egg is formed not goopy. I love me a good deviled egg but not as they have made. Otherwise, I loved everything. Tiffany S. "Tucked away by SF state and hidden away in the fog is a gem of a burger.Hall of flame has mostly classic burgers, with Niman ranch burger Pattie's (yum). I ordered the humdinger, which has a generous helping of mushrooms on top. My boyfriend and I were craving the same burger so the only difference was his was medium and mine was medium rare. Both were so juicy. As soon as we bit in, our hands were splashed. The house salad was yummy with a light and balanced dressing that is neither too sweet nor too acidic. Quite large for the price! The service and ambiance are what you expect from a casual burger spot. They're quick and kind; the chairs and cups are plastic. But if you're just looking for a quick, casual burger while watching some sports, this is the spot."

Juan answered my call and after I shared the reason for my order he immediately offered to cover one of the large specialty pizzas!!! WOW I didn't expect that. The restaurant offer's a variety of food, not just pizza and the ambiance is perfect to watch a game, order wings and drinks When I arrived at Bible study with 5 large pizza boxes everyone was stoked when they saw Jake's Pizza!!! Sandy B. "4.5 rounding up to 5This restaurant is beside the Holiday Inn Express in Burlingame. I was really happy to see a full sit down restaurant instead of a fast food chain adjacent to the hotel. My first impression was that it looks very well established (old) but still in decent shape. We arrived at 3pm Sunday so I wasn't surprised (and glad) that it wasn't too busy. It's quite large, with separate dining rooms for booths and tables, bar side with smaller stand-up and stool tables, and a private event room. Tons of window seats all around. We were quickly greeted and seated with menus. Not too long after our server began to attend to us. Water came out immediately with our heavy cutlery in full, substantial napkins. We ordered a pan of nachos for the 3 of us to begin. They came out fairly quickly and we placed our entree orders. The condiments included 5 Beaver brand mustards and horse radish. I saw Tabasco included on other tables so not sure why it's not always provided. Our mains came soon after (original burger with fries; Philly cheese steak -beef with fries; and another Philly cheese steak -beef with Caesar salad.) Choice of sides is included and they were fries, kale salad, Caesar salad, Cole slaw, BBQ potato chips, potato salad and for an additional $2, sweet potato fries. The nachos themselves were pretty oily, but well loaded with guacamole, sour cream, black beans, tomatoes, red and green onions, pickled jalapeños,cilantro, and some cheese. The 3 of us ate maybe half, and then only 1 of us finished his burger. We were given containers and cutlery, napkins and a bag for the rest of our sandwiches and nachos. We stuck with water and one coffee, which I'm glad I skipped as it tasted like hotel coffee and came with those tiny creamers you I need 50 of to get the amount I take. The bread on our sandwiches was awesome, hot and soft but hefty enough to handle all the fillings. The fries had seasoned salt instead of plain which I didn't think an improvement, but the fries themselves were very good, fresh, crispy outside and fluffy inside. The Caesar salad interestingly comes with Kalamata olives, good quality but it makes you wonder if you're not eating a Greek salad instead. We'd have loved to try some dessert but we were too full. I was especially intrigued by a new offering called Sour Puss Cake which looked like a lemon cake with possibly raspberry jam between layers. The case is sort of odd in that it looks like an old diner appliance right at the front entrance, whereas the rest of the place is definitely above diner level decor. The huge booth we had was so comfy and cozy, and the warm colours and wood finishings are like a lounge. Our server was so on the ball, she automatically noticed the hotel key holder and added the 10% discount without our mentioning it. She was that perfect combination of attentive yet never hovering uncomfortably.I'm pretty sure that even though we're only here a few days and away sight seeing the whole time, we'll be back before we head home."

I still believe that the implementation of a separate surcharge by its nature shifts the onus to the consumer to notice the added fee and no matter how you communicate it, it will always be less transparent than listing the full price directly on the menu. That said, I do believe that Underdogs is genuinely listening to feedback and committed to making improvements where they feel is possible.Despite disagreeing on the necessity of separating the fees, I wish Underdogs the best!"

James P. "One of our go-to places to bring our girls to enjoy a family night out. They have games and good food which is a recipe for a great time!We usually goto Shabuya for dinner but ever since we tried the food here, we've been making it a one stop shop the last few visits. We usually get here early evening time and we've never had an issue getting a seat immediately. They usually have a host standing in front but it's self seating so you can find a table of your liking. They have a great setup of big TVs that are playing all the major sporting events. Below it is a huge bar if you're looking to get drinks. As far as food goes, I went with the Big Als signature burger, my wife ordered the Kicking Cali Sandiwich and my girls ordered the kids Mac and Cheese with a side of tangerines. My burger was delicious. I went with the triple patty since I was hungry. Toasted brioche with three quarter pound patty's loaded with American cheese and lettuce and tomatoes. Overall a very solid burger. From a proportion standpoint, I think the double is the better choice as this one was a tad bit too much ground beef. This time around, the patty could have been slightly seasoned more but other than that, I really enjoyed it. The Kickin Cali Sandwich had the opposite, it was too much bread and not enough chicken. The flavors were on point, just needed more protein. The kids always enjoy the Kraft mac and cheese and more importantly, they give you a $5 kids play card with each kids meal ordered!I have yet to try to go bowling as it's always booked but I hope to try it sometime. The game options are fantastic and it's guaranteed a great time for your kids. Highly recommend checking out big Al's with the family!Pro tip - they have 1/2 off games on Wednesdays!"

Here are some or the things I like:- can accommodate large groups and kids are welcome- they're very patient with "kids tables" and always have been helpful and friendly to my nephews various sports team's dinners - dozens of tvs - you cannot beat the sports selection and you cannot have a "bad seat" in the entire restaurant. It's designed for sports fans.- foods excellent and they're also revamping the menu constantly and keeping it interesting/ fresh - friendly owner and servers who take care of their table and the neighborhood vibe - I don't drink alcohol and they have multiple non alcoholic beers available. I called the restaurant and left a message for a reservation and the owner, Kimberlin, promptly returned my call.I told her what I had in mind and she was accommodating from the gate. In addition to reserving space for our party, she also offered linens and centerpieces (with an extra surcharge, of course) to help add color to our event. She texted me photos of past events to give me an idea of what her and her team could offer. I reviewed them and decided to keep it simple -- she made it easy and so effortless on my end.The day of the event couldn't have gone better. We surprised the birthday guy successfully and we all had a blast catching up celebrating over a great brunch and mimosas. Everyone ordered something different and there were no complaints around the food or drinks. The staff attending to our group were attentive and quick considering we also had kids that needed extra items like napkins, etc.All of my guests enjoyed their drinks too (they have a full bar) -- from Mimosas to Bloody Marys -- I would say everyone understood the assignment of "Sunday Fun Day" and were grateful for some good food, amazing company, and a just a beautiful experience all around.Kudos to Kimberlin and her team for hosting us. Thank you for being a leader in hospitality and keeping the Mimosas brand alive and well. We look forward to returning for more casual brunches! P.S. although I did not personally order the Bottomless Mimosa deal, I was told by one of my guests that the "bottomless" applies for the first 90 minutes upon ordering which means anyone who takes on this endeavor needs to come prepared :)"

As for the sides, you can choose between creamed spinach or cooked vegetables, either a baked potato or garlic mash potatoes. I asked for gravy on the mash potatoes but gravy was not available. My prime rib came with a bone but my friend's didn't. Both were thick and didn't leave us hungry. As for the meat, it got tedious to eat toward the end as it was a lot food. My guess is around 16oz. The quality was OK. It is not herb crusted nor aged that long. They should have dry aged it a bit more for the enzymes to develop a more complex flavor. As for the dining experience, no wait on a Friday night, unlike HOPR or Westlake Joe's. Vallemar Station puts glass on top of table clothes with paper napkins, yes, that kind of vibe. The bartender lady must be at least 70 years old. The waitstaff is young and energetic. There's a huge TV at the bar and also the dining room. It reminded me of how Val's in Daly City used to be, but a notch lower. Free bread. Service was excellent."

She was a testy old lady who I loved very much but was at times hostile, mean. Well, I had no idea what was coming. We were seated by a gentleman who was to be our waiter. He was soooo patient. Halfway through the evening I had to pull him aside and let him know "I am sorry my grandma is being so abusive, I do not understand her motives, I am so sorry!" He replied that it was "OK" and I said "No, it is not ok!" and he assured me he was ok and could handle it. I am glad I did this because she then proceeded to call him an idiot again and asked if he was always this stupid. She chewed him up and spit him out. I sunk my head into my hands. I had not prepared for this emotionally. He took the entire event with stride like he went to a seasoned grouchy old lady bootcamp. As mortified as I was, I gave him well over 100 dollar tip and said I am really sorry for my grans attitude. She passed away in 2021. I later earned the hardships of her youth and how it shaped her world. I have a lot more compassion for older folks now after seeing this waiter roll with it so well. I learned the QTIP method. Quit Taking It Personal. This waiter definitely showed the kind of patience and grace we should all be so lucky to have and show. He could have kicked us out and would have been well within his rights to do so. So, thank you HQB&G for being the last place I would take my grandmother out to eat and making it less dramatic. The patio was family and dog friendly.I had looked at the menu online before we had decided on the restaurant, but hadn't realized that we were there for the brunch only menu. When I saw the menu online, there salad options that were not included in the brunch menu. I felt that the menu we had to choose from was pretty limited. Service wasn't the best, but everyone who worked there was really friendly. Our server filled the waters, but was one glass short and didn't seem to notice that he had missed a member of our party. Later when he came to take the orders, he forgot to take the order from that same person. It took a little time, but we were able to remedy the situation. As I was unable to order the menu item that I had seen online, I chose the avocado toast, as it seemed to be one of the few healthier things on the menu. I didn't try any of the cocktails, but some of our party enjoyed beer and mocktails. When our food came, the avocado toast was really delicious. It had perfectly cooked eggs that were beautifully runny and added a lot of flavor to the toast. I also liked the everything bagel seasonings. My husband chose the breakfast sand that he said he enjoyed. The service was better once we finally had gotten our order in. I actually really enjoyed my meal and the comfortable patio seating. The rest of our group was happy as well. It turned out to be a great place to visit with friends in a relaxed environment. If I lived nearby, I would made this place a regular stop, but I might come other times of day to try items that are on the regular (non-brunch) menu."
