Burma Love

I've eaten here a few times and it continues to be a favorite spot. They mentioned the menu has some new items so I tried the Kebat set lunch. The preparation is perfect, the sauce and veggies were perfectly matched with the chicken, the sides - salad, deviled egg, coconut rice were all excellent. The service as always was excellent and the server was able to describe the dishes very well. The room is always clean and comfortable and I enjoy being able to see into the kitchen. I did not have any cocktails this time but in the past I have and they are superbly thought out with an excellent balance of spirits and modifiers. Will be back again soon.

Good but pricey. I guess the ambiance is nice so that's what you're paying for. It was a busy Saturday night and we didn't have reservations so we were seated at the bar, which was fine. We ordered tea leaf salad, hawker noodles with tofu which was $5 to add tofu, and roti with truffle crema (extra $7). They were all decent particularly the tea leaf salad. I just think the add ons are pretty pricey. I mean, $5 for a small portion of dried out tofu was totally not worth it. Mango lassi was a little different than your typical because it was carbonated. The food was all pretty good I just think the pricing was a little high. I prefer Burma Superstar in SF but this is an ok peninsula option. Parking is free for 2 hours in the lot.

I'm definitely filling the love for this restaurant! We came here on Valentine's Day. The restaurant was decorated with cute/romantic Valentine's day decor (hearts, butterflies and balloons). The food was just fantastic! - Tea leaf salad. Probably the best I have ever had. The ingredients were fresh and colorful and I love those crispy, mixed nuts and seeds. That made the tasting so much more fun! They also added fresh lemon juice when they mixed it tableside. Another dish I'm very impressed with was theduck breast with curry sauce. I literally wanna lick all the curry sauce on the plate. LOL!!! The duck was so tender and juicy! This is what perfection looked like people!Another signature dish is called "Mohinga". Basically, it is curry fish chowder. The pea chip included is a genius idea to elevate the experience.Of course, I have to order the famous/unique looking cocktail called "Last harp on bagnan". I only had 3 sips as the alcohol was just too strong for me. I simply ordered it to take pictures. LOL.....For parking, just enter the parking garage next to the restaurant, you get two hours for free.

Our dinner at Burma Love Menlo Park was a bit of a mixed bag. The service was fine and the Crag Rangoon Dip appetizer was pretty good. However, the B.F.C - Burmese Fried Chicken - was not good. Most of the pieces are quite chewy to the point of being a jaw workout to eat. Flavors were ok but for nearly $30 without rice or sides this was disappointing.

A relatively new Burmese spot with friendly service and a modern, inviting interior.We tried the set lunch, which included a tea leaf salad, two accompaniments (Burmese deviled egg and potato samusa), and the pork belly hung lay as the main dish. Everything was well-prepared and flavorful, with the pork belly being tender and satisfying.We also ordered the roti canai, which was perfectly fluffy and crispy, and the Shan curry noodles, which had a strong tomato base to its curry flavor--unique and flavorful but might not be for everyone.

I came here for a Work Holiday Lunch and while I've had Burmese food before I was a little optimistic. Walking inside I was blown away by how beautiful the restaurant is, the decor is just breathtaking. The restaurant is small but packs a punch and they can definitely fit quite a lot of people in there. The staff here is very friendly and professional, they quickly greet you as soon as you walk in, make sure to get you a table in a timely manner and almost immediately a server was there to bring water and take our drink orders. Top notch customer service!The menu wasn't too big but there were a nice variety of items to choose from. Since there were about 7-8 of us we decided to order a bunch of appetizers and small plates to start. We ordered the Laphet Tea Leaf Salad, Roti Platha, Rainbow Spring Roll, Crispy Calamari, Potato Samusas, Dry Fried String Beans and Jasmine Rice. All of this alone could have been the whole meal. My favorites were the potato samusas which were so good. They were cooked nicely, crispy on the outside and the curry potato and veggie filling was so full of flavor. The dry fried strings beans were perfect, they had a nice crisp to them and had a ton of garlic flavor. I also enjoyed the roti platha, the roti was nice and chewy and the curry went perfectly with it. For my main course I went with the Bone-In Short Rib Curry. This came with roasted leeks, fingerling potatoes, cipollini onions and thumbelina carrot. The presentation for this short rib was amazing, it was served alongside the bone. The meat was divine, it was melt in your mouth tender. I have never had short rib that was that tender and full of flavor. The curry was different, definitely not what I expected but it was good and had a nice flavor and went very well with the short rib and the vegetables that accompanied it. This is something that I would definitely order again!! The portion size didn't look too big but it actually was a lot of meat and I still had a lot left over to take home. Overall, this is a wonderful restaurant. Everything from the customer service to the food was amazing, I have no complaints. I will definitely be back!

Very flavorful dishes! We started with the rainbow spring rolls which were made with fresh ingredients! Our main course was the coconut chicken curry with the delicious savory coconut rice! It was a tasty combination especially with the hint of coconut flavor from the rice! The chicken was tender and juicy! We also tried the hawker garlic noodles and it did not disappoint! All the plates were delectable and the serving was appropriate! Unfortunately, there was no sticky rice option for dessert.The staff was friendly and attentive. Our server even provided his personal restaurant favorites! The ambiance was perfect for date night or work dinner. Parking was not an issue unless you are looking for street parking. The Springline Garage is located underneath the restaurant. The parking is free for the first 2 hours, then $3 per hour.No regrets coming here -- I would definitely come back!

The food was very tasty and delicious. It was my first time trying out Burmese cuisine. The service was excellent. The ambience was very nice and peaceful. I came with my family for birthday celebration. I'd happily back again.

Nowhere on the menu does it state that the samusa soup is EXTREMELY spicy. As in has a slick layer of chili oil on top and has dried chili peppers sprinkled throughout. I could not eat it at all due to how spicy and salty this "soup" was. The accompanying samosas and falafels were dry and tasteless. It did not come with the potatoes described on the menu. I did enjoy the roti pratha and tea leaf salad shared plates, but you can get the same food for less than half the price Burma Love charges at any other Burmese restaurant in the Bay Area. Still giving this place two stars for the attentive service and interior ambience, but the food was meh and overpriced in my opinion. Come for the ambience and the cool cocktail bar, but don't expect the food to blow you away.

The food was delightful and gave a luxurious experience. We couldn't stop eating the food. The service was awesome everybody was nice and everyone had a great time. The restaurant was very nice and modern and provided a nice atmosphere for the whole family.
