A favorite pho spot we love to come to. Always gets the job done and right. I love getting the Bun Bo Hue, fair price with a lot of meat! I can always trust Ben Tre filling me up. It's got a great beefy flavor, a lot of meat with a lot of veggies to top off. I would say it's just slightly not spicy enough but it's not that big of a deal breaker. My girlfriend loves their beef pho as well as their Bun Rieu. The rich tomato seafood broth with the pork and crab meatballs are savory and just slightly tangy from the tomatoes make it a great noodle soup. Plenty of toppings and a fair portion for their price. I know Ben Tre's prices are a little more expensive than other pho spots but their quality and portions are fair. I really enjoy coming here when it's a bit chilly outside. Customer service can be a hit or miss, sometimes the staff are super friendly and attentive, and other times it may just be their off day. I will definitely come back again!

Ben Tre Vietnamese Homestyle Cuisine in South San Francisco has incredibly attentive staff. From the moment you walk in to the moment you leave, they're always there when you need them. The restaurant is a busy spot with both indoor and outdoor seating, and the staff keeps the place clean and well-maintained.I ordered the Pho Dac Biet, and I appreciate that they have a side menu where you can order individual items. I decided to try a pork chop and an imperial roll as well. The imperial roll was good in taste, but at $3 for such a tiny egg roll, I'd probably skip it next time. The pork chop initially looked great--good size and nice color--but eating it felt like chewing on pork jerky. It wasn't bad, just not the texture I prefer, especially compared to what I've had in the city. The pho here is the best I've had in this town so far when comparing to the other close locations nearby. You get a generous portion of meat and noodles, which is always a plus. My only wish is for a more complex broth--something with a little more depth and sweet spices to make it stand out from other pho spots. It's good, but it tastes like what you'd expect from a standard pho joint.Parking is street parking, which can be a bit chaotic in town. If you don't mind walking a couple of blocks, you can find free street parking a little further away.Overall, a busy spot with great service, a clean space, and solid pho, but some of the side items didn't quite hit the mark for me.

Came here on a Saturday night around 6:30pm. There's a parking structure behind the restaurant and parking was free. Restaurant is unpretentious with friendly and fast service. Shrimp spring roll is very fresh and not too carby. Five spice chicken has a really nice seasoning and the skin was crispy and finger licking good. Garlic noodles were satisfying though not as garlicky as I would have liked. Beef pho bowls were very generously portioned. Beef was very good. The soup was a little bland, but overall satisfying. Avoid the table that's right at the door entrance when it's chilly out as the draft definitely comes in. We'll be back!

Ben Tre is one of the easiest places to go for big group lunches and dinners. The service is fast and the workers are all extremely friendly. The Viet food is here is probably one of the better ones that you'll get in SF. It's most authentic and fairly priced. My go to is the dry seafood noodles. Everyone I've taken here absolutely loves it.

The chicken was appetizing and flavorful. Quite a heavy meal with the pho.Pho noodle soup with BBQ Pork - equally delicious and tender. Come with a big appetite.Pho Noodle Soup with brisket, tendons, tripe, beef balls - Excellent, generous soup.Ben Tre is always crowded. Very popular.

I believe Ben Tre is one of the better pho places in the area. They have a large menu so you'll find something you'll like. I got their five spice chicken. It's something I've never seen at a pho restaurant before. It's really unique because it's not chicken pho. It's beef pho with chicken on the side. So you get best of both worlds. I've gotten their pho bac biet as well. I think they do give good amount of meat and noodles. Ben Tre is on the more expensive side compared to other restaurants. Where a bowl is about $18-19.

My little brother and I came here the other day for some quick lunch! When we walked by we saw how busy they are and I was excited. Since I'm new in the area, I've been super looking forward in all the new spots I've been trying and figuring out what's good and what's not. He ordered the beef rice platter and I ordered the bun bo hue which I know is quite rare in Vietnamese spots that I've been to so I was ready to try it. I could definitely said my little brother liked it as he ate it soooo fast that I was only halfway through my noodles when he was done eating. I was so happy that there's bun Bo hue here that I was definitely enjoying every bite I took! We both enjoyed it a lot and my little brother even said that the spot is better than the one close to his apartment. So I was glad that we found a good Vietnamese spot super close to me! I will definitely be coming back soon!

Always a reliable pho restaurant that serves a very flavorful and warm broth. Portion sizes are good, and they definitely don't skimp on serving the different cuts of beef in their signature pho dish! In fact, I think the ratio of noodles to meat is off on the meat side; more noodles would definitely help balance it out more!

Casual, family run spot that's my family's go-to for Vietnamese food. There's indoor & outdoor seating, but if the weather's nice sitting outside is great! Our order:Bun Rieu (Tomato Crab & Pork Vermicelli Soup): $18.95+One of my faves: This is full of textures & flavors from the crab & pork meatballs, tofu (fresh & fried), and Vietnamese Ham+Plate of bean sprouts & herbs were fresh+Rice vermicelli weren't mushy+Tomato broth wasn't too saltyBun Thit, Tom & Cha Gio (Ben Tre Vermicelli COMBO w/BBQ Meat, Shrimp & Imperial Roll): $18.95+Full of fresh, crunchy vegetables+House "Nuoc Mam" sauce was the perfect balance of sweet & tangy w/a bit of spice+Imperial rolls were freshly fried+Plenty of tender BBQ meat+Rice vermicelli were springy-Shrimp were drier than usual: My mom thought the shrimp she ate tasted off.Chim Cuc Chien (Crispy Quails): $13.50+Crispy skin with juicy meat+Well-seasoned: They offer a side of flavored salt, but we didn't use a lot of it.*Verdict: 4.5 stars rounded down due to the shrimp.Great spot for Vietnamese food with large portions and quick service. I want to try more of their menu, and the Bun Rieu is a must get. Their Green Papaya Salad w/BBQ Beef is really good too!
