It's situated next to a gas station in a very unassuming location, but maybe that's the only reason I get to come here for a quiet study location. Honestly, I think this place is a gem; the inside of the store is so pretty; there are lots of (fake) flower decor to liven up the walls and ceilings, and the interior is spacious with colorful spring-themed furniture. The guy who took my order was really polite and nice, and my order came out within a few minutes. I really like the tea here, and I also love the diversity of drinks. The menu has a lot to offer and quite a few drinks that are uncommon, more like specialty drinks at another boba store. That means I always have something more interesting here to pick from.25% sugar tastes like the amount I expect, so the sweetness of drinks here is pretty adequate. All in all, this is my go-to for an intimate chat/date or a cozy study session.

"Boba shop inside a gas station," was the Google Maps description that brought me to this oddity of oddities at the west end of Milpitas. And so I made a pit stop at Bay Leaf Tea to check it out.I walked in and was immediately bombarded by color, or maybe the lack of it. White flowers streamed above me as I looked around. Menus in colors of every kind plastered the white walls by the counter while stickers from Bay Leaf Tea and Voyager Craft Coffee (the coffee shops across town) danced in between. Screens to my right promoted a rainbow of drinks. My eyes followed the dark floors to the wall of greenery at the far end, where a neon text loudly asked, "BE MY BOBA BAE?" I chatted with the staff for a bit and found out that the shop was a relatively new, independently owned boba shop. I asked what she recommended for drinks. Did I like pandan? Yes? Try the Emerald Milk Tea, it's limited edition! So I got the Emerald Milk Tea with brown sugar boba.Unlike its bolder, spiced brother, orange Thai tea, the delicate, mellow, floral green Thai tea formed the foundation of this Emerald Milk Tea. The subtle jasmine notes paired well with the milky notes of white chocolate, the splash of sweet, grassy vanilla from the pandan, and the smoothness of cream. The brown sugar boba was my personal addition, and it certainly added another layer of sugary, starchy chewiness to my drink.Bay Leaf Tea is a curiosity in many ways, from its location to its décor to its drinks. While the storefront and décor may be unorthodox, the ingredients which Bay Leaf Tea's drinks deftly bring together hints at a culinary mastery uncommonly seen in tea shops and makes Bay Leaf Tea one of the South Bay's hidden gems.

The PIKA C (peach oolong, kumquat, calamansi) tasted like a gummy candy! It's their monthly special for January so try it before they replace it :)The honey oat latte was so good too! I ended up getting another latte because we liked it so much. The guy working the register was so sweet and helpful. He helped my indecisive self pick a drink quickly and correctly! You could tell he knew his stuff. The interior is super cute, great for a girls chat. Parking is kind of random since it's in a gas station parking lot but there's quite a few spots inside and a lot on the street.

This shop is connected to a gas station, but once inside you'd never know it. There's plenty of seating inside and a decent amount of parking available outside. There was wifi so I stuck around to do some work and had a fun time listening to the music play on the speakers. The cashier was sweet and patient with me as I decided what to order. She recommended the bacon & cheese mochi waffle and I'm happy she did because it was the perfect little pick me up and only $3. It is small so I'd recommend getting 2 if you want a treat (it's also so cute, shaped like a corgi!). I ordered the honeycomb latte at 75% sweet - I have a sweet tooth so at first I didn't think it was sweet enough, but once the honeycomb dissolved it was perfect. This place is definitely a hidden gem.

Came here on a Sunday afternoon and it wasn't busy it all! It was interesting as I've never seen a boba place in a gas station haha but I got the purple frenzy (taro and ube). It was sooo good! I ordered it with boba and no cheese foam as I'm not a fan of cheese foam. The drink came out in like 5 minutes and was super creamy and milky which I liked! The boba was sweet and chewy as well.

Bayleaf is a newish tea spot in Milpitas that's attached to a gas station. It was a bit confusing at first to find it but once you're inside, you'll feel like you're in an entirely different world. You can order drinks either at the kiosk or at the counter. There were two staff members present doing all the orders and making drinks, so expect to wait a few more minutes than normal.I ordered a Black Milk Tea with with Pumpkin Spiced Oat Milk to make it a bit more exciting for the fall season. To no surprise, it worked well and I loved getting my PSL-ish drink of the season. My partner's Passion Fruit Tea was definitely better overall. It tasted like it had real passion fruit inside which we loved, so I may consider a fruit tea next time. The vibe is chill but a bit weird because you'll see random people walking through to access the gas station convenience store. You can almost play a guessing game of who is actually here for boba and who is here for the Doritos, or both!PS: I'm surprised there's not a single picture of the Pokemon Bayleaf inside this entire shop lol.

The Mango Frenzy was very good. I'd compare it to combination milkshake yogurt and slushie with lots of mango bits mixed in. Good portion as it came in a tall cup. The Hot Genmaicha had the brown rice flavor as described. It came with oatmilk. 5th Star for the brown butter chocolate cookies. Made in house. Even better if warmed in microwave for 15 seconds. Nice staff. Cute decor. Plenty of seating.

Boba spot with a gas station and car wash immediately nearby. Decent parking situation as a result. Very interesting hybrid plaza. Has wifi available and ample seating. Cute and cozy spot. Menu is definitely on the extra side. Their regular milk tea offerings don't even have classic black or green tea bases. Wintemrelon Milk Tea w/ Boba - brown sugar boba with a decent taste but the texture could be better, was a bit overcooked but not terribly so. Wintermelon milk tea is typical, sweet with a hint of creaminess from the milk, but it's hard to go wrong with wintermelon since there's typically no obvious tea flavor. Overall, a safe choice. Lavender Milk Tea - strong floral and minty flavor. No strong tea presence outside of the lavender taste but a refreshing drink.

Cute boba shop!I found this place on Yelp, & their unique flavors convinced me to give it a try! They share a lot with the Chevron station. We arrived within an hour of closing, so they were out of brown sugar boba. A bummer, but not a big deal. They had a self-serve kiosk but it looked like it was out of commission--not sure if broken or just turned off due to it almost being closing time. What we ordered:Strawberry shorty: tastes like those strawberry shortcake ice cream bars! So yummy and nostalgic. I love the strawberry shortcake crumbles. I ordered it with 75% sweetness--it was a bit too sweet (they recommend 50%, but with my sweet tooth, I chose 75%....so that's on me) Purple frenzy:Yummy ube drink! This was not like other ube/taro drinks I get at other boba shops...this tasted natural and light. Will definitely be back to try more!
