Bay pocha is my favorite spot for late night eats. I've came here several times and had a great experience every time. Their pork back bone soup aka gamjatang is exceptional. I've never had better at any other korean restaurant. I also always get the kimchi seafood pancake. Very flavorful, crispy on the outside, chewy and soft on the inside. They also have galbijjim (korean braised shortribs) for a fraction of the price of Daeho's and tastes even better with cheese. Super tender and flavorful. Every time I have came to Bay Pocha, I have been greeted and treated with exceptional service. One of the servers, Chris, was very friendly and helpful with choosing what to order. Bay Pocha is a great place for late night eats because the music is always the best kpop songs and it's a cute cozy and lively place to eat at.

Came here on a Saturday night. Got lucky with parking and parked right in front of the restaurant. Our party of 5 was sat quickly despite it being decently busy. Service was great and the food was yummy too.We ordered the lychee fruit soju cocktail. $17. Tasted like real lychee, sweet and tasty. The five of us each got 1.5 shot of pour from the one order. 4.5/5We also ordered a pitcher of beer and a bottle of soju for making somaek.Bossam was good. Friends all liked it, but personally it was a bit too fatty for me. $51.95 (3.5/5) Lettuce (ssam) was ordered separately $3.95. Seafood pancake was very good. $20.95. Plenty of squid in the pancake and tasted very fresh. This was my favorite item (5/5)Rice cake was not bad, $17.95. we added ramen to it +$4. Wasn't overly spicy. (4/5)Overall pretty good for late night food. solid pocha. Would come again

Pancake was packed with ingredients and slightly on the thin side. Fish roe stew was also packed with many seafood items. Soup was spicy, wish it stayed hot for a while. First time trying fish roe, it was grainy. Grilled squid was typical, chewy; sauce for it wasn't too umami. Banchan was good portion.Service was top notch, checked in on us pretty often and refilled water without asking. Both servers were constantly walking around. Nice and small intimate place!

Date: Sunday, January 5th, 2025Party of: 2Meal: Dinner DeliveryTime Ordered: around 9:30pmTime Delivered: about 45 mins laterDelivery via: DoorDash*Soft Tofu Stew / 순두부찌개 ($18.95)*Grilled Squid with Butter / 오징어버터구이 ($23.95)The hubby and I watch a lot of korean variety shows and dramas. As a result, I crave korean food quite often. Come Sun night, we were watching a show and of course, I wanted korean food. I also wanted to try a new spot, so we decided to get a few items from Bay Pocha. For banchan, we got a small container of fish cakes, broccoli, mushroom, potato, and I'm pretty sure napa cabbage kimchee was in there somewhere as well. It wasn't the most generous portion of side dishes for spending over $40, but we always have kimchi and maybe other things at home, so not a huge deal. The squid was an awesome portion. Cooked nicely as well. Tender with a nice chew. The soondubu was okay. Not the most flavorful or spicy. I typically leave a note saying extra spicy, so there wasn't much heat given that. Even tho I found the soondooboo kinda bland, it did have a fair amount of tofu, seafood, etc.A great spot for squid. I'm definitely order that dish from here again.REVIEW #3678

This place is good!! I came with a larger group so we were able to try a little bit of everything. My favorite was definitely the galbi, chicken wings and kimchi fried rice. It came in a reasonable portion size and the food came out super quickly. The staff was super friendly and had great seating options!

fairly quick and attentive service! interior was nice and bathroom was pretty clean which was nice.bibimbap (5/10) - rice never got crispy and it was underseasoned.seafood pancake (6.5/10) - while it had good flavor it wasn't crispy at all :(tteokbooki (7/10) - lots of fishcake and slightly spicy. to be honest, good but nothing mind blowing.bulgogi (7/10) - meat was kind of dry but it was less sweet which i preferred but others in my group preferred it to be sweeter.army stew (8/10) - pretty hefty portion of food with lots of protein and kimchikimchi friend rice (8/10) - well-seasoned and good portion sizegalbi (9/10) - yummy but a little pricey for the amount we got ($40 for the one serving)korean fried chicken (10/10) - perfectly crispy, tender, and juicy!

My go-to spot for comfort Korean drinking food. Spam and kimchi fried rice had the good spice and kimchi flavor. Could use more spam pieces though. Egg yolk was runny and helps to bind the rice and flavors together. Corn cheese was very buttery and corn pieces were sweet. Large portion! Batter for kimchi pork pancake could be cooked more; it wasn't crispy at all, but super floppy. Food came out quick after ordering, service was quick and staff was friendly. Metered street parking.

This Korean restaurant is a must-visit place for delicious Korean food that is truly worth it. The first time I went there and tried it, I was completely obsessed with its authentic Korean food. I've been here many times, and if you're a late-night eater like me, this is the perfect choice for you in the Bay Area, as they are open until midnight.Every time my friends and I come here, we are greeted by a friendly server with a smile and seated immediately as soon as we walk in the door. The restaurant is clean and spacious, and the anime wallpaper painted on the wall caught my attention because it's really cute. All the servers have enthusiastic energy and are super friendly and polite. Before serving, you're given four small side dishes: seaweed, potatoes, bean sprouts, and pickled radish. I wish they could add more as the portions of each side dish were very small, but they are also delicious. We ordered the soft tofu stew, GalBi, and spicy rice cake. Almost every dish we ordered had huge portions and enough for 2-3 people. The soft tofu Stew, which every traditional Korean restaurant has this dish. The soft tofu stew is quite spicy to those who can't eat spicy food so make sure to ask for less spicy, but the spicy level was alright for me. This dish boasts a delightful combination of ingredients, including scallops, shrimp, tofu, minced meat, and cucumbers. The tofu is tender and silky, the scallops are sweet, and slightly chewy texture. The shrimp is delicious and firm to the bite, absorbing the flavor of the dish well. The soup itself is flavorful and becomes even more satisfying when paired with rice. The galbi ( braised shortribs) is my favorite, it tastes better with cheese. The melted cheese enhances the rich flavor of the dish and creates a delicious balance. It also softens the seasonings added to the ribs itself, making each bite more flavorful and comforting. Lastly, the rice cake was chewy and soft, and the fish cake was thin and flavorful, adding a salty flavor. They are all unique in flavor, yet harmoniously combined. The food, drinks, services, and ambiance were perfect--there's nothing to complain about. K-pop is also played in the restaurant, and every song is classic and the best. There is no doubt that I will still come back to this restaurant to eat.
