Alamitos Vineyards

An absolutely beautiful winery tucked into the hills of Almaden, somewhere you wouldn't expect to find a vineyard. The outdoor tasting area is surrounded by vines and has a lovely view of the Almaden Reservoir. We came in on a Sunday afternoon and enjoyed a tasting and the picnic we brought. The tasting consisted of 4 wines, though you could pay $5 more and taste the port as well. The pours weren't stingy and did give you enough to really enjoy each wine. More knowledge was shared about the bottles than the actual wines themselves, but we did have a menu we could follow along with. We tasted 2 whites, a rosé, and one red while we were there. I noticed all the syrah grapes while walking into the property, so I did ask for a taste of that since they had it open and was given a small splash. I enjoyed most of the wines we had, but thought they were a little pricey for whites/rosé. They're reservation only and you do have to prepay when making the reservation. Though tastings are $25, with tax and the already included tip, our tasting for 3 came out to $100. It seemed like there was a $5/pp included gratuity, which I thought was odd having to pay for in advance. One tasting is waived with a 3 bottle purchase. Not sure if I would come back for a tasting, but would definitely come back to picnic with a bottle of wine! The view is truly fantastic!

We had a private event and had the opportunity to do a wine tasting outside. This vineyard was beautiful and really enjoyed the Malbec. They also had hors d'oeuvres which were all tasty, especially the crispy chicken sandwich and tomato soup. Everyone there was so friendly and loved talking to the owners. Glad I was able to bring back two bottles back home to enjoy!

Wow what a find! A beautiful Sunday. My bf and I drove here from LG. It's so green and blue right now! We made a reservation for 1pm on a Sunday. Abby was super nice and knowledgeable. U pay for a tasting $20 before hand and gratuity is included. We had the place to ourselves at one point. Parking is right next to the winery. The driveway can be steep. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

I loved the atmosphere and service. Very attentive. And not pushy. We just enjoyed a lovely afternoon sipping some fine wines overlooking the reservoir, fog over the hills and beautiful scenery of an backyard oasis. It was far from civilization but not really! A piece of tranquility. We loved the chairs, picnic tables, shades.. vineyards.. small reservations area so we felt so at peace with little crowds. What a beautiful space! I loved the view of the reservoir and I was able to see the sunset between the hills. The winery does host dinners which is a really cool addition. The food was outstanding and I loved that it was family style. The wine was solid and I like that they offer wines that I haven't seen at other CA wineries.

So happy to have this winery in our neighborhood. The wine is excellent- worth driving to if this isn't your neighborhood! Service is excellent and views are lovely. Proud to be members

This is a beautiful location in the Almaden Valley. We got here pretty early and there were already a few groups tasting. The views are amazing and the service was really good. We enjoyed the wine and will definitely come back!

From the beginning, we were amazed at the drive from DTSJ to this beautiful area. Filled with many beautiful lakes and landscapes, we enjoyed the journey up here. Arriving, we were able to meet Abby who greeted us with open arms and was very helpful in explaining the process and making us feel more comfortable. This was my first time ever wine tasting as I just turned 21 and Abby was so kind in informing us about all the wines and giving us tips about the taste and different facts about the wines. Despite the rain, they had beautiful inside areas to sit and outside areas covered with heaters to make you feel nice and comfy while trying their wines. Definitely a great place and way to celebrate my 21st birthday while enjoying some good wine. Thank you Abby!

Well located winery to relax and chill, great view, very welcoming and nice staff plus excellent wine. Enjoyed our visit today and for sure will be back.

Words cannot describe how amazing this winery is. Shaun, the winery owner along with Chris and Chef Matt were truly amazing to work with and they were so accommodating for my birthday party and made it an unforgettable experience for my friends and I. The location was truly magical and spectacular. Forget the long drive to Napa when San Jose has this beautiful hidden gem. The food created by Chef Matt exceeded my expectations and was truly phenomenal. The service, the communication, the location and the food! We all had such a wonderful time visiting and made my birthday such a wonderful experience for my friends and I. Would highly recommend and would definitely visit again! Thank you for the amazing and kind hospitality! This was truly a beautiful private event! Big thank you for an experience of a lifetime
