I came here for the first time yesterday and wow it did not disappoint!! If you're looking for some delicious, as-authentic-as-it-can-get NY pizza here in San Jose, this is the place to go.The store is located on Stevens Creek with seating outside. Parking can be a little difficult but there's plenty of parking on the streets and on the small streets. I ordered a slice of pepperoni, chorizo, and jalapeno pizza. It came out fairly quickly. Upon my first bite, wow it brought me straight back to NYC. The pizza had a good kick of spiciness, great flavor, and consistent texture of NY-style dough. I quickly ate my slice and immediately craved for more. I can't wait to come back here again with my friends. See you soon, A Slice of New York!

I feel like maybe I ordered poorly, but then again everyone in front of me was doing the same type of orders. I have wanted to try this place for years and have heard a ton of good things about it, but I was really disappointed. I was in the area, picking things up for a trip I was going on, so I decided to try it. The shop is TINY. And since it was cold out people were not moving outside to wait, so it was super crowded and uncomfortable. They need at least one heat lamp or something so they can entice people to wait outside after they place their orders. I placed an order for a few different slices that were sitting in a display counter. I have no idea how long they had been sitting, but since they were so crowded I can't imagine they had sat that long, but on a less crowded day...? The guy that stepped in to help the overwhelmed counter guy (that was taking orders) was friendly. I pointed to the pieces I wanted and said their names. He confirmed by pointing at them and saying them back to me. He didn't write them down or grab them at the time I placed my order though (remember this). I stepped outside to help ease the crowd in the space and when my order was ready they actually brought it out to me. The wait time was fairly short. When I made it home, which didn't take long as I don't live that far from the restaurant, the pieces were cold. Not slightly warm, but cold. So, I am not sure what they do to heat it up because it didn't keep at all. I reheated the pieces in the oven so they weren't chewy and gross from using the microwave. The first thing I noticed was that two of the slices were incorrect. The guy had given me the only two types of slices I did not pick, so that started things off on a disappointing level. The cold pizza wasn't an issue as things get cold when you take them home. But when they don't write things down and get them wrong it's just annoying. If you can't remember there is nothing wrong with writing it down. I wish servers would just get over this! I was a server and I wrote everything down. People would rather you get their orders right than watch your impressive, yet faulty, memory skills.Anyway, the pizza slices were just ok. We had a NY style pizza place that sold slices where I went to college many years ago and they were so much better than this. The cheese on these slices were minimal at best, they were chewy in a bad way, and they just weren't good. We did not finish our slices. I really wanted to love this place but I absolutely did not. I am not going to write them off just yet though. I plan on ordering a pizza and checking to see if maybe that will be better. As it was, I do not recommend ordering the premade slices. And I am really hoping I went there on an off day.

As my kids continue to grow up, the one thing that hasn't changed is their love for pizza. If anything, it's actually intensified over the course of time. Given this, we are always looking for a good slice of pie. I myself have always been a fan of NY-style pizza and decided to introduce my kiddos to it. We therefore hit up A Slice of New York. We picked up a Pepperoni & Mushroom pie and it was love at first bite for my fam. It's therefore officially made it into our Bay Area pizza hitlist!

I came back more than 4 times and I can now say with confidence that the plain cheese pizza is fantastic. I can't vouch for the other varieties as they didn't impress me much but the plain cheese is legitimately delicious. Wonderful crust and not too much cheese.

If you want the best New York slice in San Jose, this is the spot to go to. This spot never disappoints with their new york style pizza. The cheese slice is everything you could ever need in a slice. The cheese to sauce ratio is...chefs kiss. They sell slices ready to go, or you can order a full pie with your toppings of choice. It's a tiny spot and has very limited seating so you might end up eating in the car, but it's well worth it. Everyone who works there is always so friendly and they get you in and out super quick. This spot will forever be my go to for a solid slice in town.

A pizza worker collective, just how cute is that, and every single worker is so sweet. The pizza is absolutely fire and the inside screamed New York, the little I know of it, size and all. My favorite was the mushroom, pepper, and olive pizza. That may change as I come back for more.

Such a good place to come for a quick bite of a slice of pizza. We ordered a good amount of slices: 2 cheese 1 mushrooms 1 salami and balsamic 1 pesto & cheese 2 drinks All for around $35.00Just a took a quick flash in the oven and then it was all ready. The place is honestly a grab and go place but few seatings in the inside but there are a good amount of tables outside. They really got that New York vibe going which was cool for the kids to look at. Definitely will be coming back when we are around the area.

Nice little NY style pizza spot. Lots of New York themed decor around. There are a few spots to sit at the front. We got the Margherita pizza slice ($6.50). It had a thin crispy crust with a good amount of crunch and chewiness. The sauce mixed well with the crust and toppings. Had small garlic on it and was slightly oily. Yummy pizza and would come again!
