Definitely recommend Amano for some good Italian food. I would recommend for the pasta over pizza but all is delicious! I had a weird situation where I joined the waitlist and got removed. I checked in with the host and they said they would text me but didn't and when we went to check-in again they had a few tables open and sat us right away. I like to think this was a fluke and a very friendly waitress made up for this situation (I wish I knew her name!).

I've lived in SF for over 20 years. This was my 2nd worst pizza delivery experience in that span. It would take a lot to be worse than a misguided call to Mr. Pizza Man at 3am back on a rainy night in 2008 that kept us up for 3 hours awaiting delivery, only to leave my husband and sister violently ill and vomiting for 12 hours. I declined that food upon seeing a green tinge in the chicken wings, but I digress...This is also the only place I've ever ordered from that beat the estimated delivery time by nearly 15 minutes but managed to deliver cold food. The entire order was cold. How in the world does THAT happen? I ordered at 5:42pm, was told 6:25pm delivery. It gets delivered at 6:11pm and is DOA. The driver is not to blame. My appetizer was the cauliflower, too, so that was a lot of fun. I'm a master reheater of pizza but guess what you can't bring back from the dead? Veggies covered in oil based sauces--that is despite me requesting they keep the sauce on the side. Thanks for ignoring that request, why even make it an option? Lol.The salsiccia pizza also looks very different in person than what you have shown on the Toast website. I had to go to Yelp and look for other pics just to verify that I received what I ordered. I live two blocks from this place now and I always see it packed but if you're ordering delivery, don't be surprised if they completely disrespect you and your $50. I still can't believe I paid that much for this trough of depression.

It was raining today and they completed blindsided us on the way to the reservation by calling and telling us that our outdoor seating was uncovered and that they had to cancel the reservation. While I know they can't control the weather, the fact that they straight up cancelled it without even offering up another option (even if it meant waiting a little for another table) is terrible customer service. We were literally already on the way to our reservation. Again, not upset that they couldn't control the weather, but who just calls you less than an hour before to tell you that with no options?Really disappointed as we love this place and have been supporting it.

Came here in a group of four and was seated outside. I've been wanting to try this place for a while, heard so many good things about the pasta. What really made the experience subpar was the service received. The waitress was really cold and it felt like asking for her to confirm our orders or to check in on a dish that had been served 15 min. later than everyone else's was a chore. We asked for a wine recommendation and in her curt reply, she recommended the most expensive bottle without any explanation or insight as to why this was a recommendation over the rest of the list. We're not asking for the moon here, basic things that servers do at other restaurants to help customers feel assured that their meal is going to be delivered promptly and correctly felt extremely uncomfortable to ask for here. The 3 pasta dishes came out first and one pasta dish we had to wait an additional 15min. I flagged down our waitress to ask about it and got a curt reply- "it's coming". It feels uncomfortable for the whole group to wait for someone to get their plate, and it could have been better customer service if we received a kinder response to our ask. I got the ragu and thought it was just ok. Other members of the group enjoyed the food. I'm hesitant to come here again based on service alone when there's so many other options in the area.

Perfect spot for a bite of Italian flavors after an day of shopping as the large space of outdoor/indoor options made it very inviting.Cauliflower- Roasted to perfection and topped with calabrian chili, the balance of spice and lemon pop made this a very savory starter to get the taste buds going.Ravioli- Plentiful filled with creamy butternut squash puree and prepared al dente, these pillowy bites of goodness was perfect for sharing portion size was more than expected. These 2 dishes were perfect for a late afternoon re-fuel and the service was very attentive and efficient

Not a unique option by any means, but a Mano is always a solid option in Hayes Valley and is usually lively on any day of the week. I've been here with groups of friends, on dates, and everything in between -- the location is just prime right on Hayes. I like to order the bucatini (nice and al dente; with a nice kick from the chili) and I've also enjoyed the arancini, burrata (both are apps), margharita pizza, and funghi pasta here. They are reasonably fast given how busy they are, and there's a ton of seating both indoors and outdoors. The ambiance is nice. Would recommend if you're in the area and are craving Italian food.

INNER CITY MODERN RUSTIC VIBESComfortable seating and interior decor to feel relaxed. The wood was grounding. FOOD WAS 3.75/5 The gem lettuce with anchovies salad was really delicious. $20 was a little steep tho but maybe inflation is the reason. The olives side dish was $7 I think and a lot of little olives and two big ones. I was turned off by the strong herbal taste (too much thyme and orange peel mixed in). I don't recommend this. The Rigatoni was good sized for an average person. Good amount of pork. Sauce was not overpowering. Recommend. Orange was fresh squeezed, yum. Note they do not serve any hot drinks other than coffee. No tea. Focaccia bread was very good. Soft and warm inside with thin crisped crust. Drizzled with olive oil. The olive tapenade was nice but alas it has chili which could not be removed. The dishes with chili cannot be modified. It's pre mixed sauces. Unfortunate. MULTITASKING HOSTS AND SERVERSThe servers were all very busy. Didn't make too much eye contact so be prepared to flag them down. They were pleasant but bc they were so busy couldn't exchange pleasantries. Just takes your order and then on their way to the next customer. However, they were efficient and helped pull down the blinds when I was bc of the sun in my eyes. PARENT NOTESNo kids menu however server allows kids sized spaghetti with tomato sauce. Two clean all gender restrooms. No baby changing table. Had a good meal and experience but probably will not return.

Robert was superb last night in helping a very tired and strung out mom (me) with 2 hangry kids and an elderly parent after a show. I really appreciated his help and the hostess who said we could order some food to go at the bar to tide us over until a table became available. Having little kids and an "older" baby in tow is really tough. We arrived close to 5pm on Saturday night and it was very busy with a 45 min estimated wait time for a party of 5. Ordered pizza, chicken meatballs, and their cauliflower appetizer to feed the kids who had refused to eat lunch but then were hungry in the middle of the show we just saw. Robert and the staff were able to get us to a small 2 top outside and we moved to a larger table next to that once the party left and the table was cleaned. The seafood pasta, bucatini pasta, and gem lettuce salad were served for the adults. Everyone got to eat and crisis was averted. Special thanks also to the long curly haired bartender on the left side near the window who made me a delicious Calabrian chili oil house made soda. Love this Italian place for the food and the service and it's always clean with a nice and fun ambiance. And ... obviously kid and family friendly! Thanks Robert and staff!

We were able to get a table on a Saturday night by just walking in! The ambiance is really fun and this looks like a great hang out spot. Super casual. My favorite dish was the bread and olive tapenade. The food was ok but the service was kind of mean. It was my friends and I first time going there and the waiter was really short with us. The menu was different from what we saw online, so my friend had tried clarifying if maybe there was some off menu items. The waiter spoke back very loudly and this didn't really make for a great experience. With that being our first visit, the food was really just average for me. I think had the waiter been a touch nicer, maybe food would've tasted better. Kind of disappointing when service ruins a meal like that.
