A-Jay's Cheese Steaks - Gilroy

Had delivery for a family of 6. I had the Buffalo chicken salad. Loaded with tangy breaded chicken breast cut into "just right" sized pieces. Lettuce, tomatoes, celery, bell peppers, shredded cheddar cheese and containers with enough ranch dressing to generously cover the salad.Another person had chili cheese steak and fries, another person had a chili hot dog, another had a cheeseburger and a younger family member had a kid's meal.All of the food was delicious and delivered in a timely manner. I highly recommend this restaurant.

The garlic fries were excellent, as they should be when your restaurant is located in the garlic capital of the world. Also ordered the pastrami burger without mustard. They forgot the grilled onions, but it was still juicy and delicious, and large in size. Minus 1 star cuz they didn't get my order right... but otherwise everything was good and tasty. And the restaurant setting and staff were welcoming even near closing time.

I like their buffalo wings. I asked for them well done and they did a great job but they gave me all flats and no drums which was kind of disappointing. I didn't ask for all flats. I've tried their Philly cheese steak sandwich and it was okay. The meat didn't have enough flavor for me and I didn't taste any cheese so I suppose I would ask for extra cheese if I ever ordered it again. Their fries here are shoe string fries.I ordered a side of regular fries they gave me a whole half to-go box full. For sure sharing size. What a bang for your buck.They have a small area to sit down and eat inside and small area outside.

Had this for lunch yesterday, and I've gotta say that I really enjoyed it . I've been trying to explore Gilroy more, so it's nice to know I have a go-to place to grab a quick bite that's close by! Good service is ALWAYS a must for me, and this place has just that! Right when my boyfriend and I walked in, we were already greeted with warm smiles. They were very pleasant and helpful. They would also check in with us throughout the meal to make sure we were having a great time. The food came out fairly quickly and I chomped everything down. So tasty! We got the Californian Cheesesteak and the Garlic Fries which was definitely great to split between the two of us (portion sizes were def fair). The only gripe I have is that I wish the garlic fries had more garlic . I'm a garlic gal after all! Might ask them for a bit more next time. Will definitely be back for more good food!!

We found this place and we fell in love. Service was amazing. Food was fresh and hot. clean bathrooms always a plus.

Well for a filling and fresh authentic Philly style Cheese Steak this is the place or it's counterpart in MH.They changed to Krinkle style fries but the grilled garlic hasn't changed! Service was excellent and my son's Hot & Spicy chicken sandwich was good as well. Plus it's reasonable place to eat lunch in or take out..I like the South county with Cherry peppers

Great place - you are greeted immediately as you enter into the place. The place was small but had 6-7 small tables and SF Giants memorabilia hung on the walls.We tried the A-Jay's Classic with extra meat. When the sandwich was cooked, she brought it to the table. Great service! The sandwich was piping hot, and when you took a bite out of it, it was a nice clean taste. Not greasy like some other places. The bread was nice and soft, though, a bit bready. If you got the sandwich to go, it would hold up and not get too soggy. If that makes sense.French fries were normal. Good crunch and super hot. good portion but pricey.

The food tasted ok. But it was off put by the disgusting sanitation of the front lobby. Even worse than the front lobby is the front patio sidewalk. All of the other vendors in the court, clean their sidewalks. This one has flies growing on theirs. That's why I can't give them, a 4. If the place was clean, the food might not have been as hard to swallow.

Gilroy Dog is a must when visiting the Garlic Capital. Better than average Cheesesteaks. Food overall is good. Tasty tots. A high 3. Tiny location, so get it to go. Solid service.

It's really unfortunate because I've ordered here before without issue. I submitted and order online for same day pick up but it schedules it for the next day. I called AJ's and they server informed me that he knew nothing about how the online service worked. I then found a way to cancel the order online (or so I thought) and placed my order over the phone. I then received a notification the next day that my order was ready for pick upWe've confirmed your order from A-Jay's Cheesesteak Gilroy. Your food should be ready for pickup between 11:15 AM - 11:25 AM on Monday, October 21 at 1340 1st St.Your order from A-Jay's Cheesesteak Gilroy is ready for pickup.I called AJ's hoping to resolve the discrepancy but was told they couldn't help me. The customer service was horrible. I guess this is what you get nowadays from businesses, just basic transactions and polite thank you and no real interactions or effort to resolve issues. I will never eat at this place again.
