Amazing service, ambiance and the food is delicious. It's even our go to take out place too. They have the best garlic cheese naan out there! Other favorite dishes to note: daal mahkani, chicken korma, butter chicken

My friend is within walking distance of Yarsa so it's one of her favorites to dine in as well as order delivery from. She introduced me to the place as a thank you meal for taking care of her cat on her travels. I'm not well schooled in Nepalese food but it's very similar to Indian food - but with slight variations in their preparation and sauces. Right off the bat I highly recommend their Yarsa Chat - perfect start to any meal, and honestly I'd be happy eating it as a main course too - kale fried in crispy chickpea batter topped with more chickpeas, yogurt, chutney, tomato, and onion. I will always order this whether I dine in or get delivery through Uber Eats or DoorDash. My other favorites are their chicken chili momo dumplings and their Shahi Paneer - the most delicious cashew nut based sauce. Definitely order any of their biryani rice dishes or naan to soak up all the wonderful sauces. Service is so kind as well when we dine in and the food travels well with delivery. Big thumbs up for Yarsa. I'll continue to order from this restaurant and work my way through their menu.

Really great to find Nepalese food in North Beach! Went here with 2 friends and it was pretty empty on a dreary weekend night, but was pretty pleasantly surprised by the food. First off, the garlic naan is incredible - probably one of the best ones I've had in SF. So crispy and garlicky. Yeah I'd probably just order this over and over lol. We also got paneer and chicken tikka misala (which were both flavorful but not too salty, and perfect dips for the naan). The chili momos were.. interesting. It felt a little bit like Panda Express sauce over fried gyoza (the sauce was way too sweet for me but I liked the big onion chunks). I'd love to come back for the naan and to try the cashew curry. The service was pretty relaxed. Location is nice and central in North Beach.

Yum! This restaurant is worth a visit. It's small, but the service is friendly and fast. My partner and I live in the neighborhood and stopped by for dinner a few weeks ago and I'm so glad we did. We tried the Kathmandu chicken, lentil soup, and Shahi paneer. We loved them all and it was a filling meal with a nice variety of flavors and textures. I also have a lot of vegetarian and GF friends, and they have a lot of available options, so this is a crowd pleaser for a group with various food sensitivities.

I've only had Nepal food a handful of times at an event (food truck) or through a food delivery service. This was my first time dining at a Nepalese restaurant. I was so impressed! My fiance and I ordered a few things to share.-Chicken Chili Momo: We've had this a few times in TX, and we loved it. I was super excited to try this. This was pretty good, I like that they were so plump and large. However, it was soggy on the outside, rather than crispy. It's probably because it was smothered in sauce. I enjoyed the perfectly cooked onions and bell peppers which added some brightness to the dish.-Almond Cashew Curry: A MUST. This is a vegan dish but you can add any protein. We opted for lamb. The flavor of this curry was amazing. My fiance and I demolished this. I could probably eat this everyday. -Garlic Naan: One of the best garlic naans ever. It was light, thin, and super garlicy. Very delish!-Bhaktapur Okra: Essentially stir fried okra. It was pretty good, but some pieces were kinda hard and chewy. They may have added older okra. We enjoyed the flavor, but it was inconsistent. TLDR: If you can't decide what to order, definitely get the almond cashew curry + garlic naan.

I love momos, but admittedly that is where my knowledge of Nepalese cuisine ends. My fiance and I visited Yarsa with the goal of momos but ended up finding so much more. The momos themselves ended up not even being the star of the evening! Great flavor and portion, but I wish the momo was crispy. Granted - I have seen both fried and steamed versions of momos, but this version seemed like it was meant to be fried but had gotten soft. The okra and curry though? Absolutely fantastic! Wow, this had to be one of the best curry's I have ever eaten. I could have drank it with a straw. The garlic naan was great also. Soft with some crispy edges and great garlic flavor. Everything we tried had absolutely fantastic flavor and the service was awesome. I am only singing a star due to the momo texture and that the okra had several old pieces in it that were rather fibrous. But overall I loved the food and plan to visit again!

Having lunch a couple of time on this block the past few months, I noticed this restaurant after my meals. I made a point to come here for lunch after a bank errand around 12:30 pm on a Tuesday. There were no customers so I waited for the host who would also wait on me to seat me. I chose a two top table in the center of the restaurant. The menu was already on the table and he promptly brought me a glass and a carafe of ice water, filling my glass before setting it on the table, very welcome given the heat wave for the past week.I did my homework the night before in searching the Yelp reviews and photos before ordering my meal. Here's what I ate:1. Butter chicken (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&select=91PVqREFgPmA_7uMgqHO0Q) - Strips of tandoori chicken cooked in a mild cream and butter sauce. I requested medium spicy after he asked me how I wanted it. It was delicious and the spiciness didn't kick in until I was 1/3rd through the plate. I enjoyed the spices and herbs that flavored the tomato based sauce. 2. Basmati rice (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&select=JD98bA79gYHbN6t5THtXXA) - Fragrant white basmati rice. This pairs perfectly with the sauce from the butter chicken as the dryness accentuates the sauce's rich flavors. 3. Garlic Naan (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&select=ObTQuKW5kiA5UehNilwDIA) - Leavened bread coated with garlic and cilantro baked in clay oven. This is delicious , comparable to a green onion pancake in Northern Chinese cooking. The garlic flavor shines without being oily.I was the only diner for the better part of my meal until a couple walked in as I packed my remaining food. The amount of food I ordered easily feeds two so I had my lunch for later that week too. Thank you to Grover for tending to my needs. Perhaps momos or another menu item will be on my order on my next visit.

Came on a Sunday evening with my cousins and the restaurant was pretty empty. They have a few booths and tables inside and you can sit anywhere. It took a while to place our order, but the food was quick. We waiting a very long time for more water and our checks.Overall the food was okay in my opinion. You can choose your spice level for all of the dishes. The highest spice level wasn't that hot. I did like the momo and the chicken biryani. I thought the chicken in the Tikka Masala was too dry. Garlic Naan was my favorite part of the meal!
