Wooden Coffeehouse

Been here a couple of times when in SF for our long walks. A great place to stop for a cup of coffee or matcha and enjoy the relaxing ambiance as well as enjoying a great cup of latte. The place seems to be popular by local crowd and we have enjoyed our coffee selection here so far. Will definitely be back when in the neighborhood for a solid cup of coffee and good quality beans.

Solid coffeeshop in Haight Ashbury- service is very friendly but a bit slow. Prices are a bit higher than I expected, but I did appreciate that they had both unsweetened almond milk and unsweetened matcha.I just stopped by briefly to grab a drink but it seems like a decent spot to sit and read or work, though seating may be limited during busier hours.

Cute coffee shop with cozy vibes. Ordered a simple latte and the coffee was decent. Giving it 4 stars since the coffee is as good, but did not blow my mind or anything. Would visit if I was I the area again

Cute little coffee shop with a nice interior. Around 20 seats available and they have WiFi! The matcha latte is yummy and staff are super nice and friendly too.

Finding a spot can be tough, especially if you are not driving a compact, but doable with patience. However, try to not overstay as parking enforcement is strict and can result in a ticket :) Indoor High Bar & Table Seating: Wooden Coffeehouse has indoor high bar seating looking out into the street and table seating. Yet, it can be hard to get a table as customers take up more space than necessary. Popular Work from Home Ambiance, especially for UCSF students: Wooden Coffeehouse is a popular shop with a work from home ambience. There were numerous UCSF students and people working on their laptops, making the shop seem more like an intense library than a relaxing space. Prices on Higher End for SF: Wooden Coffeehouse has prices on the higher end for SF. One reason could be due to higher rent prices in Cole Valley. Portions Comparable to Other Shops in SF: Wooden Coffeehouse portions are comparable to other shops in SF, small, but not necessary of higher quality for your money. Drink Taste Much Room for Improvement: While reviews noted "the best mocha of my life," I cannot say the same. My iced mocha tasted like lukewarm milk with chocolate powder at the bottom, which got stuck to the straw. For $6.5 before tip, I was better off buying cocoa and milk at the grocery store. Neutral Service Neither Kind nor Unkind: Wooden Coffeehouse staff gave a neutral service neither kind nor unkind. Our drink order was taken and given; no hello or bye.Overall, I am grateful I had the opportunity to visit Wooden Coffeehouse and wish them the absolute best! :D

For non locals, there is two hour parking in front, but if you don't mind walking you can find longer term parking toward the nearby park. It is located in a convenient spot and I am a big fan of the wood aesthetics. When I walked inside it appeared to be busy so there wasn't an open table for me so I had to take my coffee and book to go. I felt a little uncomfortable ordering, I'm not sure if i said the wrong thing to the barista. Regardless, the coffee was okay the art was cute. Thank you!

Love this little place in a cute, relatively quiet part of the neighborhood! The vibes are always great, and there are lots of little tables to do work at. The wifi can be spotty sometimes, but the service is always great. The coffee itself is quite good (the menu isn't super extensive but they're good at what they do). I will say that I don't recommend their matcha - last time I got it it was grainy, way too milky, and overall just not good (hence one star less). The chai is a lot better (just a tinge on the sweet side, but at least it has flavor). Overall: 4/5

great vibes and environment to be in!! cozy but not crowded, friendly staff, and quality drinks. for the studiers, there's wifi + outlets + tables. it's not a crazy big space but sufficient. tables are on the smaller side (fits 1-2 people), unless you get one of the few bigger ones. wifi is either very slow or on/off, so i end up having to use my own hotspot sometimes. but if you are able to otherwise work around the kinks, this cafe is a great place to be for studying OR meetups!

Not a bad cafe to work in; a decent amount of tables and seating, as well as free wifi! The space was a little bit dark and had a lot of flies near the entrance, but other than that everything was good. I placed a latte order and then I think someone swiped it? They kindly made me another one!

Cute neighborhood coffee shop with a good selection of espresso drinks. We had a couple of iced oat milk lattes, which were on the pricier side. (They were tasty, though.) Our drinks were small- to medium-sized. Most of the people seated inside were working on laptops, so I think there's WiFi here. Service is quick -- it took about 5 min for our drinks to be ready. I think you could get a bigger cup of equally tasty coffee for the same price somewhere else. However, if you want to support a local non-chain business or work from a cozy place, this is a solid option.
