Wise Sons Jewish Deli

Quick bagel and deli stop in the Mission. Went in a weekend afternoon and they were sadly out of Everything bagels so I got the next recommendation of the salt and pepper bagel. Bagel tasted good. Solid chew and flavor, but a bit dry. Generous amount of cream cheese smear.For more bagel options you'll have to go early!

Oakland location-Really pissed off! | ordered crispy pastrami and they gave me bacon!! For religious reasons I do not eat pork. I haven't eaten pork ever in my life! I'm soooo pissed off.I asked to speak to the owner of Wise Sons; still waiting on a call back.My order clearly said crispy pastrami (not bacon!)Im really upset by this whole situation. I've never in my life broke my religion by eating pork.

Hate to do this, and I gave Wise Sons plenty of opportunity to rectify things before I wrote this review. I don't want to give anyone a one-star review; I WANT to be respected and appreciated as a longtime customer. The short of it is I've had three consecutive errors made on take out orders in-store, AND have purchased not one but two bags of moldy-tasting bagels from Rainbow Grocery. I've politely emailed them three times since July with zero response (see attached).I've been a WS customer for many years. I still would like a response, and an apology, and a credit. I'd be happy with them comping me a sandwich and a side--or thrilled with them issuing me a generous credit matching the entirety of money I wasted on their products. Nothing. Incredibly poor service and look. Their lack of response to any of the emails leads me to air this publicly. I can forgive a place for a mistake or two. I have a background in food and hospitality and I know it's a very, very hard business, with very lean margins, difficulty staffing, etc. There's no excuse for so many mistakes made, without acknowledgment or effort to make things right. I would have forgiven them each time. I still very much hope that Wise Sons will make things right by me.

Used to love this place and eat here weekly. I just ordered matzo ball soup and for $15 what came can only be described as sad. Basically less than a can of coke worth of broth with a ping pong ball of matzo.Extremely disappointed is an understatement and unfortunately this will be the last time I order from Wise Sons.

I had a lovely experience at wise sons. I ordered to go for breakfast and we had a salt and pepper bagel with schmear and a pastrami breakfast burrito. The bagel was delicious but my favorite was the breakfast burrito! It's a large portion but it's so good I wanted to eat the whole thing. Service was quick and the interior is very cute! I'll be back to try some of their lunch offerings

I really loved how the space was decorated with old photos, it gave a nice warm nostalgia feel to the space. I ordered a bagel to go with their touch screen which was quick! Everything bagel with scallion cream cheese. It was a Saturday morning so it was busy, but I was surprised it took a very long time to get my bagel to go. The bagel was solid, I liked the crunch on it and it was a general shmear of cream cheese. It was pretty simple and good.

So bomb. Got the 19 with (their housemade!!) pastrami & was honestly blown away. Spectacular lunch.The pastrami was well seasoned and tender. Everything in the sandwich went well together. Whatever aioli spread they put on it was also delicious! I have a thing against crunchy bread... but this bread was not too thick, soft, and had the perfect crust.Only con, their pickles were not good. All of the ones I ate tasted like straight salt, as if their brine had no seasoning.

Man I love Wise Sons pastrami and their reuben sandwiches but they stay messing up our order! Last time, they made our breakfast burrito vegetarian (mushrooms instead of pastrami) and this time they forgot the sauerkraut in the reuben. Kind of atrocious!! At least this time we dined in and they gave us a side of kraut when we brought it up.We tried the potato latke this time which was not bad. I liked combining the sour cream and apple butter which kinda tasted like a nice fruity yogurt.Some street parking available nearby.

I live near the Fillmore location and always mentioned swinging by, but today I was in the Mission and finally decided to give Wise Sons a try! We came around lunch time on a Friday and it was pretty empty aside from other group that was there before us. We ordered the Smoked Salmon bagel sandwich and 2 latkas. The latkas were crispy and pretty yummy in my opinion, though I do agree with one of the other reviewers that it is a bit greasy. My friend liked the bagel sandwich, but I saw her remove a bunch of the capers because it seemed like there were too many. The store itself was really cute, there's a kiosk where you can place your order by yourself, or you can order at the counter with someone.

The best tuna melt I've had in the city! Amazing. Slightly pickled so maybe not 100% kid friendly but haven't found anything close to this delicious in quite some time.
