We tried out WhiteCaps and Drinks + Eats, located inside the DoubleTree Hotel Lobby. The place looks clean and nice. We had our children with us and asked if we could eat with them since we obviously wouldn't be sitting at the bar. They reassured us that we could, so we dined there.Service was great--the server was kind and attentive. My husband and I got drinks; mine was a bit strong, but I drank it anyway as it was the evening and I needed to relax a bit. Had the drink not been so strong, I probably would have had two. I really couldn't taste the other flavors, but I didn't want it to go to waste. Just a heads-up!The food was okay. I ordered the flank steak with chimichurri. The chimichurri was great, but the steak needed more flavor--not just salt. It wasn't terrible, but it could have been better. I did eat my whole meal as I'm not really a "send it back" person. My kids loved their meals, which included a burger with fries and chicken tenders with fries. My husband had a burger, which he said was good. I'm not convinced he was wowed, but we all ate our food.Would I recommend it? Yes, I would. I would try it again and maybe ask more questions or try something else. It is conveniently located inside the hotel, and the pricing is standard, similar to eating at a different restaurant. It was clean and quaint, and I would give it another try next time I'm in the area.

I wouldn't really suggest the Whitecap if you're looking for a decent meal. It has a limited menu and sub sized portions for the average bear. I ordered the Steak Frites which is literally a few pieces of meat and some Sysco bagged fries topped off with mayonnaise and some ketchup for dipping. I would compare this to get a steak at a concert or the ball game. $40 and its yours! Going going gone...to anywhere else.

My mom and I stopped in for a nice dinner on Friday night. The main dining area was closed but the bar area was open. Whitecaps is open for breakfast from 6AM - 10AM and then reopens in the evening from 5PM - 10PM. While we would have preferred to sit in the dining area, because the booths and chairs are more comfortable to us than the high bar stools, we sat at the bar. There were a few tables in the bar area but they were occupied by other patrons when we arrived around 8PM. The bartender and main waitress were very friendly. I ordered a Mai Tai, made with bacardi silver, amaretto, orange juice, pineapple juice, and grenadine. I wasn't a huge fan; it was pretty strong and if you enjoy strong citrus flavors they you would enjoy this. The orange juice was a little more tart for my liking as I prefer sweet, fruity drinks. My mother's drink was absolutely delicious. She ordered a strawberry lemonade, made with blooms london gin, strawberry syrup, fresh basil, lemonade, and a splash of club soda. I highly recommend this drink. The gin added a nice pine flavor that complimented the strawberry and basil nicely. For our entrees I ordered the classic caesar salad with a side of french fries and my mom had the teriyaki beef skewers, served with a side of slaw consisting of grilled pineapples, jicama, and napa cabbage. I will say, despite the fact that the bar area was not packed and had started to clear out the longer we were there, our food did take a little bit to come out. The salad was good, which it should've been since it's hard to mess up a caesar salad. The dressing was flavorful and the grated cheese to crouton ratio was perfect. The fries were hot and already salted, served with a small container of ketchup. They came out at the same time as my salad. My mom really enjoyed the slaw that was served with her skewers, however she said that the skewers were chewy and slightly overdone. She said that the flavor of the meat was excellent and there was a tiny hint of spice, however the meat was not tender enough for her. The skewers were more well done than medium or medium well. She rated her meal a 3.5 out of 5. For a Friday night, the bar got a decent amount of service but was not overwhelming or overcrowded. For a bar, I thought that the menu was incredibly diverse with many different flavor profiles. Although we didn't order them, another guest ordered the california fish tacos and they looked delicious. With this being a hotel, I expected the restaurant prices to be inflated, however I would not classify this as a happy hour. The prices are too high, there weren't any deals on alcohol as the cocktails were full priced, and the food options were simply entrees instead of finger foods. Whitecaps doesn't have a separate happy hour menu that differs from their regular menu. If you're in the Brisbane area and want to stop in for a quick drink at the bar then I would suggest Whitecaps, however if you're looking for a traditional happy hour, I wouldn't.

I've been forgetting to check in last week as I've eaten here a couple of times while staying at the Hilton Doubletree. It gets very busy and crowded here in the evening. Lots of travelers coming and going. Parking can be limited in the evening. Service is great and the wait is not too long for pick up. I've eaten twice at the restaurant (once with hubby) and the rest were room service/pick up. The restaurant has plenty of seating and a bar to sit at with the TV on. Waiters were attentive and some were nice. They seem a little overwhelmed. Bistro chicken sandwich- My mother and I loved this sandwich, it has a balsamic glaze and parmesan aioli that makes that chicken cluck. The steak sandwich- My favorite sandwich here! Hubby also loved it. The crispy onions gives that nice texture to the grilled flank and the horseradish just takes it over the top on a ciabatta roll. *Must tryGrilled chicken caesar salad- Hubby's favorite, the grilled chicken with plenty of greens and Parmesan cheese. He said it is very good. Kale & quinoa salad- This salad had equal portions of salad and quinoa (tender) with tiny bites of tart, savory, and sweet. California fish tacos- My mother and I LOVED the fish tacos. I have to say it's probably the best I had because the fish was grilled, not fried. The avocado and chipotle aioli is on point.Crispy chicken wings- Best appetizer here!! We tried the Korean chili sauce wings and they were big, CRISPY, wings. Hubby loved eating these wings. I will have to try the spicy buffalo sauce wings next. Linguine prawns- Both hubby and I agree that the lemon thyme sauce makes this dish amazingly good. It came with only 3 prawns and they were huge. I feel like 6 prawns would be equal to the amount of pasta there is to eat.

Nice hotel bar at the doubletree Hilton. We had a great bartender, Enrique. We started with cocktails which were well made.Because we arrived and were still on east coast time, we just wanted a quick bite to eat. Bf got the burger and fries. I had the Turkey panini and side salad. Both were good choices!!!Nice choice for quick food before zzzzz.

Who knew hotel food at a bar would be better than a lot of other 5 star rating places I've been to? I've tried their chicken picatta, Asian chili wings, salmon Niçoise salad the grilled New York steak. My least favorite was their ahi poke but everything else over exceeded my expectations. The food was flavorful, well cooked and the salmon was probably one of the best cooked salmons I've had in a long long time. Crispy on the outside and tender on the inside but it was still juicy and not over cooked or dry. Along w/ the chicken picatta tender and juicy breast and the New York steak that came w/ the Parmesan peppercorn butter was to die for. If you're around the area, definitely give this place a try even if it's for an appetizer like those very tasty Asian wings, you're not going to be disappointed. They have HH but the bartenders are very dry. I need someone whose up beat and seems like they enjoy working there.

One Saturday, I was organizing an event at Genentech and realized that at least 20 people would be going out to lunch with us afterwards. I wanted to research and be prepared with some sort of reservation. WhiteCaps was the only decent option that was open in the area, so I called to ask about reserving a table for 20 people. The guy who picked up was super sweet and assured me that they would have plenty of room.Once the event was over, we drove to the San Francisco Airport DoubleTree, which is where WhiteCaps is located. It's in the middle of a deserted area, though the view of the water is gorgeous. It was quite difficult to find parking because of other hotel guests and event attendees. I assumed that the view of the water from inside the restaurant was beautiful, but we couldn't see from where we were sitting, even though it was against the glass wall.Service was so-so, and the food prices were high, as expected from most hotel restaurants. I ordered their Shrimp and Citrus Salad which had greens, fennel, oranges, almonds, and citrus honey dressing. It was okay. Not filling at all. I still wanted more after this tiny salad but decided I would wait until I got home. I'm not compelled to come back again, though almost everyone else seemed happy, so I was satisfied with my selection and organization, and that's all that matters to me about this place.

While I'm not big on this place, located at the Doubletree Hotel in a sea of nothingness called Brisbane, it has the best offerings of a little something-something in the whole area.Nicely laid out bar and restaurant off a modern lobby, it has a small menu of nibbles, salads, and entrees -- about 15 in all. Several draft beers can make the night pass.I grabbed an order of the BBQ chicken wings [$10, 4.0 stars] and a draft brew [$6] enabled one of the longer 60 mins of my life.

I had the Chicken Medallions that comes over a bed of sautéed vegetables & roasted potatoes. In addition it's served in this lemon butter sauce that you will want to drink. It was great. I am deducting a star because of price. I know it's in a hotel but it would taste even better if it was just a little cheaper. If you are looking for a well balance meal that has a protein, starch & veggie; here it is.
