WhatCoffee has become one of my favorite cafés in South Bay. I've enjoyed all of the drinks I've ordered so far, like the mocha, pumpkin spice latte, and coconut iced latte. The espresso, sweetness, & flavors are on-point. For food, I've loved the sweet pastries, especially the chocolate banana croissant! However I've not tried the savory options, mainly due to dietary restrictions. (More vegetarian options might be nice.)WhatCoffee does well in other aspects, too. I appreciate the bright, airy ambiance; combined with free Wi-Fi, I've had several productive "remote work" sessions. The service has so far been friendly and welcoming.Although they've only opened a few months ago, WhatCoffee has already established itself in the Santa Clara and South Bay café scenes. I look forward to their continued success.

**3.5 StarsWhatCoffee Roastery and Bakery recently opened up in Santa Clara and offers a huge variety of house-baked artisanal pastries and cakes, coffee options made from coffee beans that they roast themselves, unique specialty drinks, and more! Overall, I didn't think their drinks were that amazing - definitely more on the average side but this is a good one-stop shop if you're looking for coffee, pastries, and brunch or lunch as they have it all. Their store is also relatively spacious with modern decor and has tons of natural lighting.ORDER:|-| Honey Latte ($6.25) |-| Pistachio Croissant ($6)Follow @xstina.eats on IG for more food finds!

A nice cafe! I visited WhatCoffee on a Friday (late) morning and found it pretty busy. The interior was very white, with some plants and a pretty mural on the back wall. They had a good amount of indoor seating (which was mostly all occupied) and a display case of beautiful-looking pastries. For my drink, I ordered a Coconut Iced Latte. Most of the lunch/brunch items were unavailable but the nice employee at the counter recommended The San Francisco sandwich, so I went for it. I also got a Chocolate Banana Croissant to-go. The Coconut Iced Latte was awesome. It was creamy but still caffeinated enough, and I liked the little coconut shavings on top. The San Francisco was also good. I don't usually go for a beef sandwich at a cafe, but this one was tasty. The portion size didn't look very large, but it was super filling, and I liked that it came with a little side salad. I also couldn't resist trying the Chocolate Banana Croissant as soon as I got home - delicious! It wasn't the best croissant texture I'd ever had, but the filling was so tasty and the flavor combination was awesome. Would return to try more!

New snazzy sweet cafe in old town Santa Clara. Across the street from Franklin Mall is a new cafe that just opened a few months ago as of the writing of this review. The bakery in the back provides a tasty array of pastries. The churro donuts stuffed with dolce de leche were particularly scrumptious looking. Ah, the siren song of simple sweet snacks to accompany my coffee. Love that gastronomical tune. Oh, the service is excellent. I'd like to highlight one barista who made my coffee. Her coffee and enthusiasm was epic. Highly recommend this spot. Shop local!

First off, I want to mention how comfortable the chairs are here. Really nice and cushioned! Service was very friendly and speedy. Bathroom was really clean too. Get the pistachio croissant. It's slightly sweet and has little rose petals on top. I will be back for another!

5/5 StarsWhatCoffee may have just opened in October, but they're already doing 2 things right: having Elliott on their team and offering a great variety of breakfast items and pastries. We walked in around 8:30 AM, and Elliott was holding it down as barista, cashier, and front-of-house staff - all on his own. He managed everything smoothly, taking orders, preparing drinks, and talking up the pastries and food options with ease.I had the pistachio croissant with a cafe mocha, both were fantastic. The croissant was perfectly flaky, and the mocha hit the spot. My breakfast partner enjoyed the croque monsieur and a latte. The croque monsieur was savory, warm, and delicious, with its buttery croissant base being just as flaky. The café itself is a great spot to work - clean, well-lit, and welcoming, with a nice atmosphere that makes it easy to settle in. WhatCoffee is off to a strong start, and I'll definitely be back for more. Big shout-out to Elliott for keeping everything running smoothly and making us feel right at home!

A brand-new coffee spot in Santa Clara! A modern take on your favorite coffee spot. It seems like they are still tweaking their menu a bit, but the spot is decent. I ordered the iced matcha latte and the breakfast croissant - which were not life changing per say, but it's always nice to try a new cafe in the area. To note, they don't have the prices listed on the menu for their breakfast sandwiches. The cafe itself is located on the corner with windows all around and wonderful natural lighting. The vibes give it a good place to study or meet up with friends. Parking is accessible directly behind the business in a parking lot, or there is plenty of street parking. The staff is super friendly! They can provide great recommendations for what exactly to order and check in for any dine-in customers. The glass pastry case is full with delicious looking pastries that I look forward to trying the next time I return.

I would like to talk about how good the coffee is or the pastries but the times online and both in the store are wrong. Apparently the cafe opens at 8am all throughout the week... which would have been nice to know before getting there.
