It's a shame that my little cute neighborhood market isn't friendly to certain people. I went there a few times to pick up one or two items as one does at a corner market. The last two times left a memorable funk in my mouth feeling. Once, I went in to buy a can of tomato paste. The person who may have been the owner ignored me standing at the register and continued to talk to a couple who were at the entrance. I stood there waiting and watching him thinking he would help me. He didn't until I asked if I could buy the can. He rolled his eyes at me. Last time I went there, I was walking my dog I wanted to pick up one item. Half and half. He told me no dogs. I scooped her up under my arm and asked him if he needed to see my service dog card. His response No I don't need to see it. The thing is yes there's hooks outside and yes I should have carried her in to begin with, but I've seen dogs in his store. Hopefully the no dogs and eye rolling will stop because it's not in good taste.

Love this place. The owner is so kind and helpful. Great little wine room in the back. He knows his merchandise! Bench out front is a nice place to meet the neighbors. He even has dog leash hooks to leash- up your dog.

The wine cellar is the hidden treasure of Elies store - so fun to take a gander in there and find the perfect bottle for your wine and cheese night!

This store is as good as it gets; the owner of this store ELI is the best neighbor and friend you could hope for. This is the place where people hang out for a minute; the children in our community love him "Lets go see ELI" as do the elders who are always sitting on the bench out front...Thank you ELI!! Stay away!!! The cashier Luke is incredibly rude and disrespectful for no reason at all. I bought two cold cokes and paid. He was on the phone and I asked for a bag after I paid but didn't have any change. He said he would have given me a bag if I asked first but I didn't. Does that really matter?! I understand we have to pay for bags but he was incredibly abrasive. I told him he was on the phone so that's why I'd didn't ask. He took my cokes out of the bag and said I was putting the blame on him! He had to make it an argument over something so small. It was so inconsiderate to talk to a paying customer like that. Please go to the other shops in the neighborhood and not support a man who talks this way to his female customers.

Elie is the best guy in the neighborhood. Always has something kind to say and cares about his customers. I would go out of my way to shop at Valentino's. There's also an amazing wine cave!

Elie is a true gem - he is always willing to help and his passion for running this market makes it stand out amongst the rest. He's a key part of the neighborhood! His items are reasonably priced and he has almost everything you could possibly need! Valentino's is not your average corner store!!!

If I could give 0 stars I would. When I shopped here I checked out with the owner Eli who, from what I experienced, was a rude and exceptionally disrespectful person. As a customer he treated me as though I should be grateful to him to be buying his insanely overpriced items. He sneered and was almost off putting with how unfriendly he was the 2 times I shopped at his store. The second time I shopped there I also experienced him leave his shop to chase customers/people down the sidewalk yelling at them for no apparent reason. I watched him litterally follow these people to their car and yell at them through their passenger side window. It was completely unprofessional and something that was insane to experience after seeing all of the other good reviews on yelp. I've never seen anything like it and although I'd love to shop at a local market I can't in good conscience support someone like him.
