Small place, not recommended for big parties We were lucky and was able to sit together in the long combined table . Party of 8 , 6 adults and 2 kids I recommend this place , the ramen and the crispy mushrooms were good

Our ramen dishes lacked flavor, and unfortunately, the broth which is the heart of any good ramen was quite underwhelming. The appetizers were just okay, but the oxtail tomato had barely any meat. It might have been better if the small, sharp bones were removed, as they easily get lost in the bowl. It's not exactly enjoyable to pick up noodles and unexpectedly find a bone.I did feel for the server, as it seemed like they were the only one handling the entire floor.Parking in the area is decent.Overall, the experience just didn't noodle its way to our expectations.

Pretty popular place, had a waitlist, it's easier to get a seat if you had a small party of 2. Highly recommend the oxtail tomato ramen, it's super flavorful, some oxtails were tender and the others were a bit too chewy, but overall decent

We recently had Ushi Taro Ramen and it was a nice dining experience. We were seated right away and we thought that the inside was nice and spacious. We ordered the Spicy Ramen, the traditional Paitan Ramen, and the Tantan Mazeman. The spicy ramens broth wasn't too spicy and the beef was tasty and tender. The traditional Paitan Ramen we thought the broth was a little bland. The Tantan Mazeman was a special and we really enjoyed this dish. Overall Ushi Taro is a nice restaurant with good food and we'll be back to try different items.

Ushi Taro Ramen is a bustling spot with limited seating, so prepare for a wait if you're visiting during peak hours. The space has a cozy charm, but the small size can feel a bit cramped. We started with the fried mushrooms, which were a highlight of the meal. The beech mushrooms were coated in a light tempura batter, perfectly crispy, and finished with a savory salt that added a nice punch of flavor. They were slightly oily, but still delicious and worth trying. As for the ramen, it was just okay--nothing particularly memorable. The broth leaned on the lighter side, which might appeal to some, but for those who enjoy a rich, robust ramen experience, this might not be the spot for you. The flavors weren't bad, just underwhelming compared to other ramen spots in the area.

Visited on a Friday around 5:30pm with a friend, restaurant had a couple other guests but several open spots available. We were seated right when we arrived. As dinner progresses more guest arrived but there seemed to be open seat throughout our meal. Food: Fried Mushrooms - these were good, light tempera batter on beech mushroom with a savory salt sprinkled on top, slightly oily but tasty overall Spicy ramen - this was okay, beef was nice and tender, mushrooms added a nice chewy earthy texture, egg was perfect with a nice jammy yolk, noodles were okay, thick variety with an okay chew, broth was a bit one note spicy was the prominent flavor, portion was generous Paitan + Bone Marrow - this was okay, broth was salty with some added fattiness from the bone marrow, they were super generous and gave us 2 because server said one was rather small, marrow had a slight truffle salt char which was delicious, again a bit one note even with the added black garlic oil Service was good, really quick and efficient. Overall this was an okay spot for ramen, was hoping for more depth of flavor, portions were generous and bone marrow was delicious but probably wouldn't go out of your way to try this place.

Well seated but often drafty space from the door always opening and not closing on its own. One of my favorite lunch spots in San Francisco tho. Ramen is filling with quality ingredients you can taste. Add the garlic oil, you won't be disappointed. 4 stars because I don't like when I go to a restaurant, order a drink , and I'm given a can. That may just be my pet peeve. Also, don't forget to order the gyoza!

Got the traditional paitan, the fried enoki which came out to be $34 pre tip. The fried enoki was fragrant, but the batter overtook the flavor of the mushroom. It was crispy and tender though with a juicy inside. The paitan was rich but the meat pieces were a bit on the tougher side and had small portions for the price point. Well worth a try though.Service was nice but took a bit to order and get refills.

Beef in your ramen?! Usually it's a pork + ramen type deal at almost every ramen joint but this place is different. Roast beef with each bowl of ramen. The tenderness and flavor blast in each roast beef bite paired with the noodles and broth *chefs kiss* soooo good. This place has been on my bookmark list for quite some time now and I finally got around to trying it. It did not disappoint. Went on a rainy Wednesday night around 6pm, no line and quick service. There aren't too many seats so I wouldn't recommend this place for larger groups. Good to go / quick bite place.
