United Nations Cafe

I'm always running late for work (oops), but I'll get up earlier to catch an earlier BART just to have time to stop here before clocking in. SUPER friendly and cheery service, especially for how early I was there today! I've been craving Vietnamese coffee and theirs really hit the spot. I also ordered the BLT on a bagel (yes, lunch menu served even at 7:30am) and that was fantastic as well. You order and receive your food through a window and there is clean outdoor seating.

This rating and review is only for the service and beverage. Very nice folks greeting you with a smiling face. I ordered a soy latte. The coffee came out very quick. They only allowed credit card if $5 or more. My small latte was only $4.25. The main reason for giving the 2 star rating was the disappointment of the beverage. First of all, it's watered down. Like it's made with instant coffee or just your cheap corporate office brewed coffee. Secondly, it tastes like the non-dairy creamer, not soy milk at all. And I have had many different kinds of soy milk and this is NOT it. I guess for that price, one can expect no more, no less. So, it's just not my cup of coffee. I would've given 1 star but adding one more for their lovely smiley faces.

This is a small cafe right next to the Sunday farmers' market. The food and drinks are pretty good (we had an iced mocha, coffee, and buttery, flaky croissant), but there are not as many food options as I had imagined. In fact, it's hard to really know cuz you can't enter the shop, it's locked and you order from a window, you'll only be able to see their full display case for pastries and the like if you're lucky. The worker was nice, and the service was pretty standard.The atmosphere was not so great. Homeless lurking in the area, dirty grounds, looks like an abandoned building really, no curb appeal and nothing really inviting about it. I probably wouldn't be hanging around the area if it weren't for the famers' market right out front. Also, there is no seating here at all, neither indoors nor outdoors... though I saw a little bit of seating closer to Market Street and the BART station, just a bit of a walk away.

Omg this is the cutest little coffee shop I've ever seen. Tbh I was being judgmental about this place and never gave it a chance because I seen a couple of homeless people outside so I stayed away from it. But my coworkers were telling me that this place is actually really good. So I checked on yelp and a lot of people said the same things about this coffee shop. To start off the man at the window was soo sweet and nice I loved his smile and attitude! He even knows his regulars name so that must be a good sign if you regulars coming to your coffee shop!I went over to check it out to see what they got so I could come back for lunch and since I was early to work I decided to get some hot chocolate..... yummmm!! It was sooooo delicious and it was not burning hot either! I'm really picky about hot chocolate since I don't drink coffee I really look forward into getting me a nice hot cup of hot chocolate. It was $3 but they have a $5 minimum charge so I decided to get a blueberry muffin, my total came out to be $6. Which was not so bad I'm used to getting two things at Starbucks and paying $10. Next time, whenever I'm around this part of the city, I'd definitely bring cash because I was always be craving hot chocolate!The I went back to lunch and their menu had a bunch of options to breakfast to lunch sandwiches. I decided to get a turkey sandwich and mannnn let me tell you this sandwich was sooooo good. They made it exactly how I like my sandwich with lettuce, tomato, jalapeños, mayo and turkey! It was only $8.50 I believe for the sandwich not bad for lunch because it's expensive eating out in SF. Definitely a lil cute hole in the wall place and I will be returning!!

Sam and Kim are the absolute best. Very sweet and kind. They remember your name and make you feel great everyday. Food is also great, tons of different variety sandwiches for breakfast and lunch, let's not mention my favorite every morning my Vietnamese Iced Coffee a must try if you need a jolt of energy.

This is at Civic Center by the library. I got off the Muni at Civic Center. The United Nations building is nearby. This cafe is tiny and not a stand, but inside a building. They have a storefront. I asked for a bagel with egg and cheese. They made it pretty fast. I chose the cheese bagel. It was $5. I liked the sandwich and it was a good snack. I am not eating lunch today. They have bagel sandwiches and some other sandwiches. It is moderately expensive and not cheap at all. But it's a fun spot for grab and go bagel sandwiches.

This is a great place to meet, shop and get on Bart or off Bart.Try BLT Sandwiches, Fresh veg, toasted bread, sooo yummy.The Cook is the BEST. She whips it up Fresh and is very nice.Food from ALL OVER THE WORLD...Fav.Foods and Drinks from All Over the World and Freshly made. Beats : BK, Micky Dee's or any Fast Food Joint by FAR./plus it is Fast...Lots of Security there too, as they all Love to go there..Hot Days: Lots of Iceee CreamICE CREAM, Rockin snacks too, Madellines. - I like them in my Ice Cream Cup. MMMmm so good on a hot day.JUST TRY THE Hot or Cold, VIETNAMESE COFFEE. WOW.....

The nicest people run this place! Yummy lunch and breakfast sandwiches, good coffee, tasty banana bread. I have yet to try the smoothies, but I bet they're great. There are even cute little tables that popped up recently.

Great bagel sandwiches, awesome selection of beverages and pastries, a cute patio in the newly revamped civic center and the friendliest sweetest people working! Best breakfast for walking or for sitting down in downtown
