Ume Tea

This Ume tea is a pretty small location, on a side street of downtown Burlingame, but it's very cute with the pink decor! Parking isn't too hard between the multiple lots, street parking, and residential areas nearby, though it can be a bit more challenging on weekends or during events. I love the sour plum flavor of their popcorn chicken, especially since I haven't seen this flavor at other boba/popcorn chicken places. It's a nice sweet, tangy, sour flavor - and the spicy version has a nice heat to it. I haven't tried too many drinks, but the strawberry fresh milk with pudding is a nice treat! It's a little sweet for me, but good as a dessert type of drink. They also have cute merchandise available - the surprise cups that have a mystery plushie keychain hidden inside are fun to get too.Staff has also been very friendly, and quick + responsive any time I order! The staff today gave me their weekly tea box to try, which has seven teas to try, and a packet of sugar. It has a mix of fruity & floral black, oolong, and green teas that I'm excited to try.

Very cute and tiny spot off the Burlingame Ave side street. Street parking only and can be tough to find something close by because of all the eateries around. But I love this place for their yumberry slushie. It comes with green tea jelly which makes it so good! Their Thai Tea Creme Brule is also very good but is definitely more of a heavy drink. I haven't ventured off the menu too much as I really like those 2 drinks the best.Friendly and quick service is a plus! I hope they stick around with all the boba competition nearby.

Finally tried an Ume Tea location. I liked the Passion Fruit Green Tea w/ Boba & Lychee Jelly ($6.25). I think I got it 0% sweet bc of the lychee jelly and that was definitely the right amount. Lime slices were a nice touch. They have outdoor tables and Wi-Fi, but zero indoor seating; it's basically just enough room to order then wait outside to be called. More of a to go spot in colder weather. Friendly service, but not too many customization options.

New location, soft opening is today! Very cute, very pink! Friendly service! Menu still in progress due to soft opening. A friendly tip, refer to menu on their online website. At this shop, they have different flavors to choose from for popcorn chicken such as: original, salt and pepper, chili, sour plum powder, and chili bbq. The location doesn't have much seating, only one table with a few chairs right outside. Items we ordered:* Strawberry Matcha Latte w/ oat milk (2) 5/5 - I ordered mine with boba. Drink is prefixed, so unfortunately you cannot adjust sweetness. Love the texture of the boba and flavor of the strawberry matcha. The matcha ice cream on top was a nice touch!* Salt and Pepper Popcorn Chicken 5/5 - Made to order so it's hot and fresh, just the right amount of crunch and very flavorful. It had a hint of spice from the fried basil leaves.This may be our new go-to boba spot!

An authentic boba shop with high quality boba that delivers when it comes to milk and fruit teas due to their unique brewing techniques! You might be familiar with Ume from their now famous location in Cupertino or perhaps the one in San Francisco. This new location is even more on brand and over the top pink and nicely decorated. The staff is super friendly.If you are in the mood for some classic boba, theirs is nice, chewy, and close to perfect (not too soft nor too hard). I really enjoy their fruit teas though, especially when you need something refreshing. I enjoyed the Pineapple Pomelo Sago here and it was absolutely delightful. It was flavorful yet light, satisfying without being overly sugary, and it definitely hits all the right notes.The passion fruit green tea was also a hit with me. If you feel like adding the cheese foam to your drink, the peach green tea with cheese top maintained that refreshing taste while adding the complexity to the flavor profile with the perfect layer of cheese foam on top that's ever so popular nowadays.Lastly, if you want something more substantial, the black milk tea with pearl and taro is made for you - the taro is high quality and the flavor is there without being overwhelming, the pearls are nice and chewy, and the black milk tea is potent and filling.Overall, Ume delivers on the promise of quality bubble tea!

Cute cart at the entrance for photo opp. The store is small compared to Mountain View location which has lots of seating options and merch for sale. I still think it is a cute location and if you are in the area it is worth stopping by. We ordered the passion fruit tea with lychee jelly, the ube drink with coconut pudding and a strawberry yogurt drink.

Got the white peach oolong tea because one of the reviewers below said it was the best peach they've ever had. Well, definitely not the best I've had but to each their own. In my opinion it's a bit watered down, I also got it with the green tea jelly and the green tea jelly is stodgy. The person that took my order was also in a rush and didn't seem to be as super nice as everyone says. I wonder if soft opening honeymoon phase has ended and I had the wrong expectations. Honestly, if I knew that this was what I was going to get, I would have just gone to Sunright for my peach green tea, which I know is better.

Yummy exotic fruit forward tea drinks. I went for soft opening and was so satisfied with my Grape Green tea and the Passion Fruit Watermelon tea. Lots of cute giveaways were offered. It was not worth standing in line for an hour, but it was fun to get the welcome package. Drink specials start the week of 9/7/24. Welcome to my neighborhood, Ume. You are adorable!
