3.5 starsThis was my first time having AYCE sushi and Ultra didn't disappoint but also didn't blow me away. The food is pretty hit or miss. Some items, especially the cooked ones like the skewers, were REALLY good. However, for the fish and rolls we only found a few we really enjoyed and just repeated those orders.Pros: The service was pretty great. We were seated quickly and didn't have to wait long at all in between rounds. Having the iPad and being able to put in our own orders was really nice! All you can drink is also great. Cons: For the price point the sashimi and nigiri were not as great as I would have liked. The interior smelled a little funky.

Finally managed to try Ultra Sushi! I've only had AYCE sushi one other time in the Bay, but this one really impressed me. Last call on Sunday was 2:15 PM and the place closes at 2:45 PM, which was understandable. We got a table at 1:35 PM so we had enough time to order what we wanted to. The price was $45.99 per person and after tip and tax, it cost $58 per person. You can order six plates each round and with each star item, you need to order two regular items. Each one of our rounds typically included two stars and four regular items. Chef's choice sashimi (20 pieces): This one was okay, the sashimi cuts are quite small but it came with four different cuts of fish.Lamb skewers: We added this on five times/whenever we weren't sure what regular item to order. Seasoned so well and definitely my favorite skewer/regular item out of the bunch at Ultra. The beef and chicken were fine, I preferred the chicken to the beef in terms of meat quality. Salmon nigiri: The nigiri here is really good! The cuts are decent quality and they don't skimp.Bluefun tuna toro nigiri: I ordered this multiple times throughout the night, it was just so good I had to revisit it. I was obsessed. Definitely one out of my two favorite star items at Ultra Sushi.Sake belly nigiri: My second favorite star item, the cuts are just so fatty and taste amazing with a bit of soy sauce. Soft shell crab: Apparently my friend calls this one the "chicken nugget of the ocean". Quite good for beginners/picky eaters. The breading isn't too thick or thin and I say this as someone who isn't an aficionado for deep fried stuff usually! Takoyaki: I really liked this! This was a good choice and added a bit of sweetness to our very savory dishes.Salmon carpaccio: My friend liked this one, but I wasn't a fan. The sauce was a tad bland in my opinion!Hotate nigiri: So delicious, wish hotate sashimi was included in the AYCE pricing but it is what it is! We ordered this one near the end but I would definitely get more next time around.Oysters: Worst part of my order by far. So fishy & not pleasant at all, left a weird aftertaste. Definitely don't order this one.

Came here for their AYCE experience! Each person can order 3 items at a time and only one of those items could be a starred menu item. I wished there wasn't the restriction for the starred dishes since most of the items I wanted to order were starred heh.. but I guess that makes sense since they're the popular or premium dishes. Service was pretty quick though which helped prevent us from being too full before we could put in another order.Food in general would be a 4/5. There weren't any stand-out items from my perspective but there was good variety of dishes. The restaurant had good vibes and seems to be a good spot to grab dinner with friends!

Very good sushi buffet. The expensive ones aren't limited but you have to order 3 at a time with 2 inexpensive ones, pretty weird rule but understandable.Like lamb bbqs, toro, etc. Mostly sashimi almost no sushi haha. The missing star is that I had too much sashimi that my stomach couldn't help but wanting some hot plates (bbqs didn't cut it), maybe soup that I didn't notice on the menu.

So glad I bookmarked this place & even more glad we finally got to give Ultra Sushi a try!! With a long day in the city on New Year's Eve and my toddler craving for some sushi, I quickly scrolled through my bookmarks and stumbled across this gem. I threw out the idea of AYCE and everyone seemed to be on board. Looking for parking delayed our arrival. Either opt to park in the structure to simplify things or be okay with driving back and forth, up and down in attempts to find an open spot. Lucky for us, the restaurant wasn't remotely full which immediately got us seated. Our part of 3 decided to go with AYCE. At $46 per adult & $20 for children under the age of 10, this cost covers both soda & hot sake for those of age. You are essentially provided 90 mins to enjoy and each time you place an order, there is a cap off amount of 3 items per person. Starred items on the menu are considered "special" and each starred item ordered must come with 2 regular non-starred items. As always, excess food left behind will result in a charge. There are certain items clearly labeled that an additional charge will be added. The menu was pretty extensive. Ultra Sushi offers appetizers, "unique" items, nigiri, skewers, sushi rolls, hand rolls, & sashimi. Highlight items of the night:-Oysters On The Half Shell-Short Rib Teriyaki-Hotate Nigiri-Chicken Gizzard SkewersThe negative:-The door was kept open during the entire visit and it was a very brisk, chilly night. I literally had to keep my 4 yo puffy jacket on during the meal. -There is a pretty long delay for items ordered. The miso soup that is not included in the AYCE menu seemed to be forgotten and we had to mention the missing item to 2 separate staff members. Items such as the Wakame salad took longer than required factoring in there is no cook time. -Not sure if the kitchen staff was overwhelmed by orders but we are pretty certain some ordered items never came out. Not a deal breaker but we were also too worried to quickly reorder in fear that DOUBLE the amount would come out. -While the menu looked enticing, a lot of the key popular items just so happen to be "sold out". New Year's Eve went without uni & tuna toro. Booooooo!!!!3.5 stars overall but I bumped the rating up to 4. My guy would need some pep talking in order to return but I'd happily come back. Hopefully my next visit to Ultra Sushi will have uni on the menu.

3.5 stars**For AYCE sushi, pretty okay.At $45.99 per person you'd expect more top quality food for the price but it was average. How it works is if you get 1 starred item, you need to get 2 non-starred items per person. The soft shelled crab item sucks. It was overly deep fried and wasn't good. The oysters were def good even though they were small. The 20 pcs sashimi was underwhelming unfortunately. I did not like the fish with scales and had a hard time finishing it.I didn't like the mix tempura dish. The 2 rolls we got were good though (i dont remember the name but see below). Handrolls were decent, nicely rolled.Overall did 3 rounds so not too bad. Better off going to some other ayce spot!

Wowowow all you can eat sushi AND all you can drink. This is a bargain. The quality of the sushi came out consistent, not the freshest but delicious nonetheless. My favorite was the volcano roll and their hamachi carpaccio. The oysters here are pretty fresh as well. Our server was so sweet and helped us get seated right away. She answered all of our questions and was patient since it was our first time here. I would definitely recommend for anyone in the area! I will be coming back.

We came here on a Thursday night around 7 and got free street parking. I saw a few garages nearby, but I think you may need to pay for parking. There was actually a good amount of people on a weekday night, but we got a table right away! The restaurant is spacious and clean. Opted in for the all-you-can-eat for $45.99, and this includes drinks. You order on a tablet and staff will take the tablet once you finish ordering and hand it back when you're ready for the next round. The sushi rolls here are a very good portion and can fill you up, so I would advise to take advantage of the sashimi and nigiri first! Our favorite was the ikura (fish roe) nigiri - although it's a bit salty, the flavor still explodes in your mouth the right way. The hand rolls were okay, we got the spicy tuna one and it didn't stand out to us and there was a lot of rice - I would probably skip out on this next time. It's rare to find AYCE sushi places now, and Ultra Sushi is definitely worth a try!

Can't have high expectations from an AYCE sushi spot. I've been twice and the first time had the newness factor and I was looking forward to the second time but it couldn't stand up to the first. The fish quality seemed worse (maybe it was not great either the first time but I was blinded by the first time experience).Overall, I would definitely go back but I'd have to really be craving the AYCE experience to make it worthwhile. Also, I don't hold their "rules" against them, I mean really, how much more sushi can you eat? Even following the rules I was stuffed both times and my stomach hurt and I can eat a lot so I don't see how their rules are a problem.Pro tip: don't bother with the skewers, they were small portions and a bit burnt. Stick to the rolls.

Came here to spoil myself for my birthday and I was not disappointed! Coming here, I know it's AYCE, so I wasn't expecting the highest quality, Michelin-rated sushi. However, it is definitely better than other AYCE spots I've been to. I recommend a few things:- Order fewer rolls, they'll fill you up because they're larger than normal- Choose the star items you'd like first and go from there, because if you want one towards the end, you're going to have to scarf down two more plates - Oysters, YES! Salmon, YES! Teppenyaki, YES!We also got our fill on unlimited hot sake (3 bottles worth) and were plenty full at the end. Would come back for sure!
