I visited this restaurant perfectly located near the union square for the first time in June and I must say I was Instantly star struck by the unique interior and fantastic hospitality and customer service. From jellyfish fish chandeliers to spectacular cocktails what more could you ask for I started off with the Limoncello drop cocktail. The perfect combination of sweetness & crisp lemon to taste. Then moved on to the Grilled New Zealand pork chops. The pork chops were grilled to perfection and each bite was tender and seasoned perfectly.Last but not least I ended my meal with desert, I ordered the Tiramisu and I just say it was the most delightful sweet treat I've had in a While . It was very moist and the presentation was superb. I definitely will be visiting Ula Restaurant again very soon to review more delectable menu items! 10/10 would recommend

Ula Restaurant & Tapas Bar is an upscaled French bistro with stunning artistic decor. It's located a few blocks from Union Square where you could easily find parking on the street or in the garage. I've been here twice and in both occasions it wasn't crowded. So of course, service was top notch. The interior decor is breathtaking and one-of-a-kind so you can find plenty of beautiful photo backdrops around the restaurant. In terms of food, I got the seafood ravioli. The presentation was elegant but the taste was a total disappointment 4/10. I also got the risotto which again was a total disappointment 4/10. The cocktail was basic and nothing special 5/10. The highlight of the dining experience was the creme brûlée, but still wasn't anything special 6/10. Ula's is a beautiful place to admire, but the foods and drinks were quite a disappointment. I hope they could make adjustments with their menu.

Came here on a Sunday night and the restaurant was almost completely empty. We got great service and the restaurant itself is honestly really beautiful / cool inside, but ultimately there was just a big disconnect between the prices and quality of the food. The only dish that I thought was actually quite good was the eggplant carpaccio. It was nicely crispy on the outside and the flavors really worked. Otherwise, I think many other dishes could either use some improvement or they could shrink their menu a bit in order to recalibrate pricing. If you want a quiet, intimate dinner focused on the conversation, this is a great option. But if you care a lot about the food, then maybe try another place.

Amazing atmosphere with old world charm in downtown SF. We had a company dinner here during JP Morgan week with a prix fixe menu. The filet was amazingly cooked and the tuna bruchetta was lovely. Great list of local Napa wines to complement the meal as well. The servers were extremely attentive and friendly.

What a fun spot! Come dressed up for a night out or come in for dinner and drinks after a day around town. The drinks were great, even the zero proof was tasty! The food was okay, and the service was wonderful. The eggplant carpaccio is not carpaccio. It is thinly sliced eggplant in a sesame seed pocket bun, that is more bun than eggplant. A great spot for tapas and drinks!

Last night we dined at Ula before seeing the Golden Girls Live show at Curran theater. I called the restaurant to add one more person and the host said it was quite alright. I dined at Ula a few times. This is my fav Mediterranean restaurant whenever I went to theaters with other friends and I even took my husband here. I recommended Ula to my friends to dine before the show since it was close to Curran theater. So we were 5 and the host gave us a nice booth in the back plus one more chair. It was quiet last night. The restaurant offers discount for happy hour 3-5 pm a 20% off, theatre goers 10% off, hotel guest 10% off. We started with a bottle of Merlot to share and the other birthday friend had margaritas. For tapas we ordered the Octopus Carpaccio, Chicken Pastry, & Truffle Fries. For the Main Plates we had the Spanish Paella & Crema Di Stracciatella & Bread Service. My friends told the server we were celebrating mine and my other friend's birthday. The service was superb. The owner stopped at our table and complimented us with our red tops. He wished us on our birthdays. We told him we were going to the show after. The food was delish and delectable. We received complimentary birthday cakes with candles, tiramisu and chocolate truffle mousse. The tiramisu was mild sweet but the chocolate truffle cake was rich but not intense. When we were leaving, there was a live music player but the host said they play on Thursdays night only. It was a beautiful dinner experience we had. I recommend Ula for any occasions.

New cocktail by Zeek was rich, festive, well balanced, and so enjoyable at the beautifully decorated bar. He described how he made it, and was a pleasure to talk to you. I'll be back with friends!

We had a lunch meeting and asked to be seated at a quiet table, and we were seated at a quiet table as requested. We appreciated the privacy so we could have our business discussion. We ordered half a dozen raw oysters to share as an appetizer, but it was delivered to our table just as we were finishing up our entrees. The waiter must have forgotten about the oysters and it must have sat on the counter because it did not look fresh. The color looked off and the edges looked a bit crusty. Everyone looked at it in disgust so I sent it back. I told the waiter he can take it back because 1 it came too late and 2 it did not look fresh. He tried to argue with us that it was fresh and came in the previous day. We said it may have been delivered yesterday, but it wasn't shucked just now. He had a bit of an attitude. The owner then came over, interrupted our meeting, and tried to convince us the oysters were fresh. We were all a bit annoyed. We've all eaten oysters plenty of times and know what fresh oysters should look like.I had a beets salad with grilled salmon. It was actually pretty good. However, my colleagues and I did not particularly enjoy our dining experience here. If they had just taken the oysters away and not make a big deal out of it, this review wouldn't have ended up with such a low rating. We didn't need the drama in front of our business partner.

Ula was closed at least an hour before advertised time. I recommend avoiding this restaurant, it is not worth a try. Total waste of time.

Ula is a great place for ambiance. The staff is awesome and they're super kind and amiable. The food, however, has taken a turn for the worse. Their Branzino is excellent alone, but everything else is either undercooked or bland. My partner ordered the ravioli and it was undercooked. My orzo was literally boiled and over cooked, and unseasoned. I'm not sure if this is an understaffing issue, but I'm not sure if we'd come back here again if it is, regardless.
