I want to give proper respect for an authentic Chinese place keeping it going in the ever-tonier, ever-whiter neighborhood of Noe Valley. This is how you know it's the real thing:They serve PEKING PORK CHOPS (ging do pai gwut) instead of the insidious SWEET AND SOUR PORK that is an affront to real Chinese food.Go there and try it!

Only a few things on the steam table are able to endure steam table treatment, but if you order freshly made food from the menu it's far better.I had beef with bitter melon freshly made and it was very good; other things, too.It's nice to have them in the neighborhood. When you just want a chia siu bao and it has to be good but not great, it's a relief to have them around.

Person working here (Cindy) was as nice as can be. Unfortunately, all of the steam table food was COLD. As in ambient outside temperature, as served as a walk-in.Straight into the garbage. Perfect conditions for food poisoning. $24 for garbage level food. Bonus: charged for cold soup I didn't ask for.Invited SF DPH to poke their head into this place... and that takes a lot to get me to do that.

The best worst Chinese food in San Francisco! And I mean that as a huge compliment. I have been coming to this restaurant and ordering from the counter since I was a child so over 20 years. Is it China Live? no... but it isn't trying to be. Is the food alway super hot? no, but guess what reheating works great. I usually have very expensive taste when it comes to restaurants, but this restaurant is my go to guilty indulgence meal in a sea of expensive and boring restaurants on 24th street. It reminds me of my favorite corner Chinese restaurants in New York. No frills, no major expectations, but somehow always hits the spot. And they have the nicest staff, just try walking in there without having a full conversation, while you pick out your order. (There used to be someone else who worked the front years ago that wasn't very nice, but she is gone now so ignore the reviews about that). My only critique is that it has gotten more expensive over the years. So many of my favorite places have been taken over by the ever ominous noe valley yuppieness and tech palette, but this one stands strong. Help preserve how SF used to be a support this restaurant.

Went here for lunch -- they are incredibly friendly with great service. But the food is DEFINITELY not worth the price. I got a combo plate -- rice with 1 entree -- for $17. The food was cold even when eating it right away.

Worst I ever had to be honest. Come with my partner for a quick lunch. We seat down. We order orange chicken ( and we never got it ). Also we order basil chicken. My issue was the chicken. It's not right. Look like an old chicken. Or something. Taste awful. I mean it. Awful. I hope I am not getting sick tonight. Over all. Never again.

First of all, the one dollar sign doesn't fit for this restaurant since the one entry combo with small tiny little soup costs $19.00. I gave $1 dollar tip because if the server didn't switch the container I will waste more money. The taste is not bad, but definitely not worth $20. And I asked for spoon but I did not get one in the bag. I thought it's the recent inflation until I found other comment from 3 years ago. I don't know how to describe what I feel.

This restaurant is the best Chinese restaurant I've ever been to. The food was amazing and the lady working there was amazing. The prices were very cheap, even though the food was such high-quality and delicious. The overall mood of the place was awesome as well. Great ambiance.

I went there when it was about to close and the worker was very nice. It's a very cute little place. I got rice and some chicken. The rice and chicken were amazing. The worker gave me free five spice chicken which was also good.
