This place deserves 5 star and I have good reasons for it. It is a Nepalese place but you will find the menu pretty similar to Indian. So what's the difference - it is how Nepalese food is made. I tried the Spinach chicken and I can totally feel authentic Nepalese taste. More turmeric, slightly higher salt, super soft chicken likely cooked in cooker with more liquidy gravy topped with generous amount of cilantro. All very typical of Nepalese style of cooking. Even the Mango Lassi was pretty solid - felt fresh and not going sour whatsoever. If there was anything which was a little underwhelming - it was the Aloo Paratha. It was good but it was made like Bihari/Nepali style. If you are expecting Punjabi style paratha - you will be disappointed. Ambience is ordinary but given the place is located in SF downtown, I won't complain.

SF doesn't have too many hole in the walls left, and Trisara is one of those hidden gems. Came here for a work lunch and we were skeptical at first because it was empty, but boy it didn't stay empty long. Within 15 minutes the place was packed. The interior of this place reminds me a lot of those comforting pho restaurants. You know the food will be good as hell when the space is lacking in interior design and the food definitely hit.Food came out a bit slow but it was worth the wait because we devoured everything. Our table ordered the shrimp curry, buttered chicken, spinach palak paneer, and I believe the chicken tikka masala. Holy cow talk about flavor explosion. Everything was seasoned to perfection and they gave us gracious amounts of rice too.On top of the main dish we ordered the garlic naan which is to die for. This is a highly recommend for me because the garlic on it was so fresh. Please give this place a try if you're ever in SF. It won't disappoint and it now stands as one of my top places for Nepalese/ Indian food.

Little hole in the wall open late in the financial district. Food was amazing and service was fast and so reasonably priced. Definitely worth the stop in if you're looking for something great!Chicken tikka masala and butter chicken had just the right amount of spice and the garlic naan melted in your mouth. Not sure what the crispy things were, but my colleague ordered them and I couldn't stop devouring!

Trisara is the real deal. I don't like to go to the same restaurant twice when I travel but Trisara is a culinary experience that I will never regret experiencing again and again and again. The food is just so so flavorful. The appetizers amazing, the entrees the perfect size for sharing and the desserts indescribable. Add in a very quick and friendly staff in a relaxed setting and you are dining in one of the best restaurants in SF without spending an engineers salary.

Beyond mediocre, tiny portions, dry rice, and a totally confused person who forgot half our order. How this place has 4.5 stars is mind-boggling, with all the incredible options around FiDi I'd never come here again.

Flavors are definitely there but I wish the meat itself was a little bit more flavorful. My husband got the lamb and the meat was a lot more tender and seasoned better. The curry itself was awesome. Portions were just right, a little bit smaller than expected but still we were left. Very satisfied. Not really a hang around place but more of a mom and pop shop. The service was also very fast, we were in and out in about 40 minutes.

Welcoming and authentic Nepalese food in downtown San Francisco for a reasonable price. We ordered the chicken momo ($11.99), palak paneer ($14.99), lamb vindaloo ($15.99), and tandoori roti ($3.50). The food was all very good and enough for two people. The palak paneer and lamb vindaloo serving sizes are on the smaller side though.Chicken momo: highlight of the meal, so well seasoned!Palak paneer: hearty pieces of paneer in a creamy palak sauceLamb vindaloo: good but surprisingly sweet. I also do wish there were more pieces of lambThe service is attentive and friendly. The interior is clean but a bit outdated. Do be aware though that there is a 3% credit card surcharge. I do wish we had been informed before paying so that we could have chosen an alternative form of payment.
