Cozy place with a pre-set dinner menu.Staff were welcoming upon arrival and explained the menu to us.Prices were fair for SFC and not too over the top like some other establishments right now (Feb 2025).We ordered:First Course - Gem SaladSecond Course (optional) - Shrimp PastaThird Course - Crispy Skin SalmonFourth Course - S'mores dessert The quality of all the dishes were fresh and made with excellence. Grade A!Protein size is on the smaller side.Would I come back? I would if I was a local. Otherwise, there are so many wonderful restaurants in SFC to try!

My date made reservations at Trestle for our first date, and it was a great choice! The pre-fixe menu was perfect since I hate reading through long menus; too many options stress me out. Every dish was delicious, and we split everything. I honestly don't remember all the courses because we were so caught up in conversation, but everything was solid. They serve beer and wine only, and the wine we had was an excellent recommendation by our server. I didn't get any photos because I make it a point to not take photos and stay present during my dates but the presentation of all the dishes was lovely. One thing to note: The restaurant is small and can get loud, which might not be ideal for a first date. Since I arrived early, I asked the hostess for a quieter spot, and she was super accommodating, seating us in a cozy corner booth and we were able to sit next to each other for easier conversation.Pricing is reasonable for a pre-fixe meal, and at the end, they bring out a small guest registry book where people leave notes. My date wrote something sweet in there, which was a fun and personal touch by the restaurant. We stayed until closing, and the staff was kind enough not to rush us out. Overall, a great experience with good food and service.

Solid American dinner spot. Somehow accomplishing being a nice meal while still being casual. Definitely not the best in value (the pre tax, tip, etc price always seems surprisingly cheap, but the final bill does not). However I think the restaurant mostly met expectations. Reservations are highly recommended - on a Saturday night, there were people waiting outside for a table and a constant flow of people coming in presumably with reservations. It's perfect for two people because you can share and try one of everything off their daily menu. There's also an option to add another dish which I would recommend because the portions aren't particularly big. The first course was the kale salad and the potato leek soup. This was the one course where I liked the items equally (aka I liked both of them a lot) but the kale was pleasantly surprising because the blue cheese (which I don't like) was light enough to not be offensive. The short rib rigatoni was tasty but simple (might be something that's possible to recreate at home). Wasn't a huge fan of the cod main mostly because I wasn't a fan of the clam / fishy flavors in the sauce. The focaccia and saffron was the stand out for me in that dish. Pork chop had good texture and flavor, but overall the mains were outshone by the other courses. Compared to the whipped cheesecake (which had an underwhelming presentation), the devils food cake really shone. The chocolate was very rich and paired well with the orange on top. Overall the food is nothing stellar, and the restaurant was quite loud which made it hard for conversation (borderline three stars). I also walked away from the meal feeling content but not full. Despite all this, the vibes were actually quite good and the servers were friendly and attentive (which is why I'm rating this 4 stars).I would generally recommend this restaurant if the menu sounds good to you but wouldn't say anyone should go out of their way especially since it's on the pricier side.

Had a chance to visit Trestle for my hubbies birthday and really enjoyed the experience. Everything from the ambiance, service to food was top notch and I loved the unique concept. This is a small restaurant that changes their menu every week and it is fun to see what you will get! Since it was the hubbys birthday they gave a sweet hand written letter before we started off our meal. We got to try:* Honeynut Squash & Frisée Salad - this was refreshing and absolutely delicious with a burst of a variety of flavors. The Salsa matcha and maple yogurt added the perfect flavor.* Roasted Chicken Soup - this was the hubby's favorite. It was like a chicken pot pie in soup form and the chicken skin bits added the best flavor!* Gulf Shrimp Casarecce - we ordered 1 pasta dish to share amongst us and this was a winner. This came with a crispy honey shrimp which was delicious. The pasta with the sauce was an 11/10. This was my favorite dish of the night* Duck Confit - this was my main dish for the night and I enjoyed every bite of this. The duck was fall off the bone and the veggies that this came with were fantastic. The sauce added the perfect tang and flavor* Mushroom Crusted Petrale Sole - this dish you could tell the fish was fresh and came with a braised cabbage which was delicious. I didn't love the stuffing but it was a cool preparation*Ricotta Cake - this came with a huckleberry which was very nice and flavorful. The cake was a little dense but the flavor was really good* Chocolate Brownie - hubby loved this, especially with the pairing with ice cream and the cocoa nib tulleOverall, it was a unique experience and we enjoyed all the different courses. Would go back and try another menu!

I gotta say this place was fantastic for a date night. The food was incredible and i love the prefix menu setup. The interior was also as you would expect, trestle based and really cool. Service was fast and friendly literally zero complainta on it.My only tiff is i would rather have the mandatory service charges in the base price, honestly with the quality of the food and everything even a bit higher price i would still come

We had dinner reservations here for a Sunday night and from the moment the restaurant opened, tables were readily filled with reservations. It was an extremely cozy and romantic setting despite being completely full. All of the waitstaff were very friendly and attentive, and all of the dishes came out very quickly. We started with a sunchoke soup and bread, and the soup was incredibly creamy and bread perfectly toasted. We opted to add the pasta and the carbonara was very rich and tasty. Our mains were the pan fried sea bream and truffle stuffed chicken and both were delicious. For dessert, the chocolate cake was rich and moist and the coconut panna cotta perfectly made. For a tasting menu, this was such great value and top notch service. We can't wait to be back

Sitting on the edge of Chinatown at the corner of Jackson and Columbus is a humble restaurant called Trestle, a place that focuses on the comforts and tastes of a family meal. At Trestle, the $35 three course pre-fixe menu changes on a daily basis. The food here is fancy enough to make the restaurant the perfect place to celebrate a special occasion or a romantic date, yet the atmosphere is casual enough that there's no hint of stuffiness or pressure to dress up.At Trestle, the menu is composed of 2 appetizers, 2 mains, and 2 desserts with 2 optional $10 pasta supplements that can be shared among two people. The menu changes constantly so you never reaally know what you get before going. For $45 you get three courses that are mouthwatering!Trestle is simply a wonderful dining experience. They managed to serve excellent dishes with fresh ingredients for a reasonable price !Everything was well prepared and delicious. I would absolutely recommend this fantastic restaurant. Can't wait to go back !!

I realized I've never been to Trestle's actual location but visited their pop-up in the past. Recently had a chance to stop by during restaurant week!| m e n u |appetizers: - mushroom soup: my favorite! This was such a comforting yet light soup. - pear & arugula salad: very refreshing and light. The fried ham was a great touch of heartiness and saltiness.pastas:- beef bolognese: Nothing special, but it was a straight-forward and solid bolognese! - winter squash risotto: texture was spot-on. was on the sweeter side and I prefer more savory risottos so it wasn't for me. My friend really enjoyed it though! mains:- bistro steak: steak was well-cooked and crispy polenta was so good. Another straight-forward, solid dish! desserts:- key lime pie: I'm not usually a fan of key lime pie but wow, the sweet coconut cream balanced out the tartness of the pie so well. - dark chocolate cake: soo decadent. Love the candied pecans! | t l ; d r |Trestle has one of the best pre fixe menus in the city! Definitely recommend if you want a straight-forward menu with no frills.

Loved the experience! The food was good, nothing memorable but the service and experience were top notch. I loved how small but spacious the place was, it felt intimate. An awesome place for a date or catching up with a close friend.

Good service and good food for the price point. Came for SFRW and on a few other occasions, set menus always has 2-3 options. Solid place for date night or just catching up with friends.
