Honestly their boba is bomb!We got the Thai Tea tornado (50% sweetness) and the Matcha Tornado (100% sweetness) and both were really good! I'm surprised that the TTT wasn't too sweet, considering that I'd get a lot of 50% or even lower sweetness levels at other boba places. But both tasted really good. Also the picture on the kiosk/menu on top depicted a different picture of the drinks but it wasn't like it took away from the actual experience of drinking the specialty drinks.The ambiance there was alright, it's really just a grab and go kind of place. And going off of that, you're not going to get much service there either. The employees were doing their job accordingly but there were no "hello's" or "goodbye's", only a "thank you" from my end. Oh well, at least the drinks were good.Would consider coming back again!

Love that you can order online and pick up is relatively seamless. D R A N N N K SMango cheese cream foam @100% - My hubby liked this one. Brown sugar boba fresh milk @ 50% - not good. Maybe it was the time of day tthat we went, but there was crusty brown sugar throughout the drink. I highly advise against getting this one.Strawberry Milk @50% was a little too sweet - my go to is the strawberry milk tea, but decided to let my kiddo try the smoothie version. It's pretty good, but I'd try 30% sweetness instead of 50% next time.

Drinks: 7.5/10The drink itself is good, but the toppings are super small. The boba is almost like a small boba portion it was that small. But it's not bad. I had MATCHA MANGO with boba.my boyfriend had BROWN SUGAR MILK TEA with boba and coffee jelly)Matcha mango is good, not too bitter. I added more mango because they always give a lot less, and it adds to the taste of the drink, in my opinion. Brown sugar milk tea was sweet, more like a dessert than a refreshing drink. Some brown sugar milk teas dont have enough sweetness and some are just too sweet and this ome was just too sweet, I think adjusting the regular sugar cane sweetness would help a lot atleast 50% or less maybe even none.Atmosphere: 5/10Too loud, too small. A bit dirty in the front, not enough seating because it's right in front of the street, which sucks a lot, so limited parking space.Staff: 4/10Self-serve kiosk. No Hi, Hello, Thank you,The card machine had a swipe option, but when I attempted to swipe, there was... no swipe option?? place gets busy, so the service there is pretty much once your own. The least these people could do, though, is say thank you and properly organize the drinks!!!!! The first time I went there, I waited way longer than I should have, expecting to hear my number or name get called out as I waited outside because of how packed it was... turns out my drink was just sitting there the entire time

I think tptea is one of the best boba spots in San Mateo. The tea flavor is strong and all the extra flavors like fruits or osmanthus really come through. However, be warned that if you ask for no ice, they will only fill up your drink 2/3 of the way. This would be fine except that tptea didn't warn ahead of time so it was disappointing when I saw it the first time when I picked up the drink.

TP tea. I go here so much it's sad. I'm addicted. I should probably think about my mantra 'save $, save calories' next time before I order. Order on snack pass, it's usually done much sooner than the estimated time. Also, you earn snack pass points. 20 points for a free drink - pair up with a friend (or family member) and gift each other points. Then it only takes ~10 drinks.

Stumbled upon this boba shop as we're waiting for a table at a nearby restaurant. The teas are strong and perfectly sweetened. Busy but efficiently streamlined. Grab and go kind of place.

I really like this place. A lil pricey when you include all the customizations, but quite tasty. Nice Friday night vibes.

TP Tea is sooo good! There's a reason why there's always a huge crowd waiting for their drinks. And although there are a million other milk tea spots downtown, they never seem to draw the same crowd. The downside is that it is tiny so it's not a place you can hang out and chat with friends. But you can grab your drinks and hang out at the nearby park.Pro tip: Order your drink in advance through Snackpass to avoid the wait!

Ten orders ahead of me but still my drink came out quickly. Small shop with one small two seater inside and one small two seater outside. Got the TP boba fresh milk tea. It had a nice black tea flavor, bouncy boba, and strangely some brown rice (which I hadn't realized when I ordered). The brown rice added a crunchy texture and actually wasn't too bad, though I would order it without if I return.

TP is a very popular tea shop in San Mateo. Best to place order in advance online but there is still a wait! I always got their most popular drink, Tie Guan Yin Milk Tea with ice, regular sugar. The tea is definitely there, not too light, not too bitter. Well, the sugar helps to sweeten it. Inside and outside of the shop, it is crowded. Parking is a challenge but worth it!
