SO SO GOOD! I picked up a slice of the margherita and the pepperoni and both were amazing!! Sauce tastes so fresh and nothing was too oily. The crust was perfect and kept its shape. I cannot wait to come back for more!If you can't get a table at the restaurant next door, swing by the slice house!!

Haven't had a bad slice of pizza yet from any of Tony Gemignani's Restaurants. Got there when they open, and got a slice of Sicilian Combo which came with Pepperoni, Sausage, Mozzarella, Mushroom, Garlic, & Bell Pepper, perfectly sauced and the dough was so fresh and softly toasted feels like you're biting into a croissant, a little crunch on the outside and soft inside. From the time they took my order and they handed to me was less than 10 minutes.Any of Tony's Restaurants has to be the best pizza around!!!

Eh. It's actually my second time here. I came here once a handful of years ago and thought it was OK. On a recent visit to San Francisco, I was looking for a slice in the area (not a whole pie) that I could easily grab. Yelp led me here. And I really wish it hadn't. But by the time I arrived, I already placed my order and it was supposed to be baking.Anyway, I arrived about five minutes early for my cheese pizza and was told to hang around nearby. I went for a walk around the block and came back seven minutes later. I was told it would be ready soon. 15 minutes after the time my pizza was supposed to be ready, I asked how it was doing. They said it was coming. Around 25 minutes later, I asked again, but didn't really get a response. Almost 40 minutes after it was supposed to be ready, I asked the cashier if I could have a refund since there was somewhere that I needed to be. She said it was coming and wasn't sure what happened. What happened? I think they forgot to put my order in and were trying to rush it.The pizza was fine. Honestly, I was expecting something more epic.. and especially after that wait, I was probably more disappointed than I might have been had it been ready on time. I hope I actually read this review to remind myself of this experience next time I'm in the area and can remember to find somewhere else. I'm sure there's lot of great pizza in North Beach. 2024: 85/100

Popular pizza restaurant in SF's Little Italy. My friends and I went on a Saturday night and the place was PACKED. Street parking was nearly impossible -- we circled around for 30 minutes before we finally found a spot. We ordered at the to-go window so we didn't have to wait. I ordered a single slice of Sicilian pizza, which was about $7. It was quite good and the serving slice was pretty big! It was a bit messy to eat but definitely a satisfying slice of pizza. There are only 2 tables available for people ordering to-go. I was lucky enough to snag one. If you're visiting, I would recommend just getting it delivered to you to avoid traffic and parking. Either that or go outside peak hours.

Unfortunately had a very poor experience -- quite a let down because the Slice House location in Mountain View is some of my favorite pizza. Detailed breakdown below:**Service, 2/5** I ordered a slice of a prosciutto and fig glaze and a pepperoni -- only after I got my receipt back did I notice that I was charged for a Meat Lover's slice instead, which was more expensive. Seeing the charge for the to go box too when 1) there's no dine in option, 2) we weren't offered alternatives, and 3) we weren't notified also feels like a cheap money grab. I'm surprised their napkins were free LOL. Their wait times are also pretty inconsistent -- people in my party waited about 25 minutes for their food while others received their slices after only 5-10. **Price & portion, 2.5/5** At over $7 a slice, this spot is overrated, even when they occasionally throw in a bonus mini slice. Especially because my slice was primarily a dry, congealed layer of cheese.**Taste, 1.5/5** I think I was served a piece that was sitting out for a while, possibly all afternoon and evening, because it wasn't pleasant to eat at all. Typically, prosciutto pizzas add the prosciutto at the very end instead of before cooking to retain the delicate flavor and texture. It seems like the prosciutto here was both cooked and then reheated, so it ended up being incredibly dry. The cheese was completely congealed into a dense, dry mass that made up the base of the slice. The only saving grace here was the fig glaze that added some refreshing sweetness. Even the crust was a let down -- it was stale, tough, and devoid of moisture (not chewy and crisp like their Mountain View location). Overall, this was one of the worst slices of pizza I've personally had and I will not be spending time or money here again.

The $8 slice of sausage and pepper pizza was a highlight of my night out in North Beach lol. The crust is thin but has structural integrity to hold itself up. Sauce and cheese were flavorful and a nice backdrop to the toppings. My bf and I haven't stopped thinking about the pizza here and will definitely need to pay Tony's a visit to enjoy an entire pie.

Quick grab and go pizza spot when you have the late night munchies or drunchies! We came around 11PM on a Friday night, and we waited maybe 20 minutes from lining up to receiving our food. By the time we got there, there wasn't a huge selection but they do make more pizza on the go. Let me say, the pizza slices are huge. And the dough is so delicious and chewy. We ordered the cheese and big kahuna, as well as a side of ranch! Pretty solid place to grab some pizza! We wanted to try their Italian beef, but unfortunately they were all sold out ):I really like that Washington Square is nearby and has tons of benches! Definitely a visit!

Oh my gosh, this was the pizza I had been dreaming about. Slice House has been my favorite pizza chain in San Francisco for years, but this was my first time visiting the ORIGINAL location. I usually go to the location on Haight, or the one on 2nd Street that has been closed down for a few years now. I actually wanted to go to Tony's sit down restaurant next door, but didn't realize that reservations were required. So, I ordered a slice of Hot Tony from the Original Slice House counter, and waited. And waited. And waited. It was actually a very long wait. Finally, I received one of the best slices I've pizza I've ever experienced in my life. The Hot Tony isn't on any online menus that I could find, but based on my photo and my memory, it came loaded with marinara, mozzarella, pepperoni, salami, bell peppers, olives, green onions, and ricotta. I was hoping she'd give me a slice with at least one good dollop of ricotta. I got three, although one sadly dropped onto the street. Every single aspect of this pizza was incredible. The crust, the sauce, and every single one of the toppings was perfect. Rumor has it that Tony spends the most time cooking at this location, which may be why the sauce and crust tasted so much better and more nuanced than usual. Slice House is still my favorite chain, and I think this is my new favorite location.

Great place to get whole pizza to go! We came on a Saturday at lunch time and didn't have to wait in line. We ordered a whole New Yorker and waited about 20 minutes for it to be done before eating at the park nearby. The whole pizza is huge and for a really good price. The pizzas are fresh and warm - really tasty with lots of toppings. The crust is thin and good balanced of crispness and softness. Parking around here is pretty difficult since the area is so busy, so I highly recommend taking public transportation if you can!

"They've got the name,But not the game."Tony's Slice House is a natural choice when one is solo, hungry and craving a slice in North Beach. An entire pie would be too much, and the line at Tony's Pizza Napoletana next door would be too long. Unfortunately, the natural choice would not be the most delicious one. This "New York style" offering is a tough, heavy slice -- a little bit crude and frankly disappointing. It's tasty because it's pizza, but one expects better from a Tony. Service is efficient despite the interminable crowds. Although the slice itself might be underwhelming, munching on it in neighbouring Washington Square should redeem the experience. True score: 7.7Return? NO
