Tiger Tea & Juice - San Mateo

I've had Tiger Tea when I visited Philippines 3 years ago, and it's safe to say, all the tiger tea drinks are worth the hype. Tiger tea seems to be a tad more popular in Asia than here but either way, i love this place.It's one of the few places I can choose an option to put oatmilk (being a lactose intolerant girly), so this place always gets a big thumbs up for me.There wasn't a line and the store was cozy and staff were very accomodating.It's located in downtown san mateo so parking can be tricky on weekends, I believe.The hojicha latte was an 8/10 but if you love creamy drinks then this will be a star for you.The black sugar boba is always a popular choice, too.

The place is fairly small; there was two iPads you can order in ~ I got the regular jasmine with a cream top and it was alright, maybe i should've gotten extra sweet cause it was not that good tbh, my friends got other drinks and they were not a fan of theirs either. I'll prob come back next time to try a different drink whenever I'm in the area again, but there is a lot of other boba places nearby too so we shall see.

This Tiger Tea & Juice location is in downtown San Mateo, I believe this is their newest location and they have taken over where Cha Express once was. It is a bit busy in the area, especially on weeknights and weekends, so parking may be hit or miss, as it is mostly street parking with some parking garages / lots nearby. This is my first time at this particular location, but I have been to their other locations many times. I ordered online for pick up, so my drink was ready when I arrived.I ordered my usual, their Jasmine Green Milk Tea with boba. I usually order it at 75% sweet, but I ordered it at 100% sweet instead this time with less ice. The milk tea had a good creaminess with a slight tea taste to it, which was good. The boba was on the chewier / softer side though.

I've been going to the one in Burlingame for a while and am so glad they opened up this shop closer to me. Tiger tea is my goto spot for milk tea and I get milk tea at least once a week. I love good chewy boba and a fragrant but not too strong jasmine milk tea. They're pretty consistent here and it's tasty.The people who work here are usually nice and quick and I always order my drink ahead of time.Note that this location has no where to sit down, but that's no issue for me since I usually just go to pick up the drink and walk around.

The grapefruit fruit tea here is great and I love the pulp in the drink. Got 25% sweetness and that was perfect, not too sweet and you can taste the fruit. The staff recommended cream in the fruit drinks, I will need to try that next time!

Boba inflation is so real.The drinks were good tho, solid flavor and good sweetness. Didn't give a crazy amount of ice.Place is pretty small though and I don't remember any seating. It's in a great area though to walk around and get food!Service is like any other shop with self serving kiosk!

Headed over to get a drink at around 3 pm and you order from the kiosks inside. My drink came out after about 5 minutes and there weren't too many people in line before me. Peach Oolong Milk Tea with Boba - It had a very light peach flavor and the tea overpowered it. Not too sweet even at 75 percent and it was slightly bitter but the boba was chewy and soft.A pretty ordinary drink, nothing stood out about it and could use more flavor.

Visited during San Mateo Boba Day and definitely wanted to give Tiger Tea some props for keeping up with the large crowds! They left a pretty good impression and had good crowd control, especially for the people fiending for the samples every time they put a fresh tray out lolI've only ever heard of the Tiger Tea in San Jose, and this was how I learned that there was also a location in San Mateo!I ordered their white peach milk tea and it was super good! The only tidbit I had was that it did taste a bit watered down, though I did order the drink at a lower sweetness level so I guess this was a risk too. I always love the drinks at Tiger Tea because of how fragrant the teas are!The ordering process is done on two self serve kiosks. There's no seating here, but it wasn't a problem for us since DTSM is nice to walk around anyways.

I've been to Tiger Tea & Juice in Burlingame and their tea drinks there were very strong. This place in San Mateo should theoretically be the same but we felt that the tea drinks tasted a bit watered down here for some reason. We got the brown rice milk tea and the earl grey and both felt a bit watery. I did think 25% sweet is a pretty good level though.There is a little bit of sweetness from the boba but not that much. Boba is chewy.

Top 5 boba spot in San Mateo, and it's not number 5. Tiger tea is always consistent compared to the other boba spots in the area. Drinks are made quickly (depending on your order), and quality is always on point. I love putting mochi in their milk teas/tea lattes. My for sure go to spot when I'm in the area
