Nice ambiance, not overly crowded or noisy. A little bit too dark inside at some spots that you'll need a cellphone to be able to see what's on the menu - adding some table lamps would be great.Food is very good. The bread, garlic, and olive oil tastes different than most Italian restaurants I've been. Instead of using roasted garlic they use pickled garlic, which gives a really refreshing flavor to the dish. 10/10The mussels dish is fine. To be honest it doesn't smell like the freshest mussels I've had, so I was a bit worried when I started eating them. But they taste fine and I haven't got sick from eating them so I suppose they are fine. And I do like the white wine sauce a lot. 7/10Lamb shank - love it. Sauce is just amazing, and the lamb is stewed for so long the flavor is completely in the meat and it's becoming so tender. Highly recommended. 9/10Chicken Marinara - didn't like it quite as much. Again they make the sauce very delicious. But I just don't like the texture of the chicken breast meat. They are dry and not juicy and kind of bland when you bite into the center of the meat. 6/10Overall food: 8/10Ambience: 8/10Service: 10/10

Everything we got here tonight was SO good. Got the burrata for an appetizer and 2 different pastas for our entree. Tiramisu for dessert which was also amazing. Our server was awesome, forgot his name though. Drinks were always refilled and didn't bombard us. There was live music as well which was awesome. We will definitely come back again.

We were very happy with dinner here! We had the salmon and chicken marsala entrees and the poached pear dessert. All of it was really good, reasonable pricing. Definitely check them out.

I was recommended by a local so I took the suggestion & glad I did. It's a cozy, busy little spot on Polk Street. Very welcoming the moment you step foot inside. And the live music by Anna & Frank added to the ambiance. You can sit at the bar or a table. I decided to forgo pasta & had the carpaccio with a glass of house wine( a generous pour)& a side of bread(yes you're charged for French bread ) I also saved space for a really good tiramisu, it was outstanding. Notes: most days they have live music. They also have a Happy Hour on weekdays with a few bucks off their regular prices. And another thing I enjoyed was the filtered water they bring to the table in a large water bottle. Service is excellent, again very welcoming and they don't rush you or bring the check out til you're ready to leave. It has an old world vibe that I like.

Came with a group of ladies and were pleasantly welcomed over the phone when we asked to come in that night!!The owner apo seated us once we got in (within 7 minutes of our commute) and the service was incredible. They checked in often and were super friendly.I liked the bruschetta and how it wasn't overly roasted. I loved the raw garlic of the garlic fries and the wine selection was good!I'd absolutely go back and loved the vibe!! Wednesday nights should have jazz, so I can't wait to come back and share updates. Good spot!

Went on a double date with friend. The gnocchis were killer and the drinks were decent. More than anything, the service was unmatched. My water glass was never empty for longer than 3 seconds.

Needed a last-minute dinner reservation, and my friend booked this place! It's super cute with great service for a large group. We started with the bruschetta, which was good but nothing special. I got two Aperol spritzes, while others in my group chose different cocktails or wine. Now, the spinach gnocchi was amazing. The gnocchi was chewy and delicious, and the sauce was incredible. I added chicken, which was perfectly grilled. This dish alone was amazing and something I'd absolutely come back for. Everything else was good, and the service was excellent, with the staff checking on us frequently. They also added gratuity automatically, and I appreciate that the waiter mentioned it to us while handing out the checks (we probably wouldn't have noticed after having a few drinks)

Second time dining here and I got the same thing I had before, the October 2024- Spaghetti Bolognese. Ground beef, tomato sauce and herbs make for a very tasty dish served generously portioned. We also had a Margherita pizza ($17.00) that was very good and Burrata Cheese appetizer($15.00) that I really didn't care for. Service was excellent and will gladly return.

Ordered calamari (cooked al dente but underseasoned) and the Caesar salad with salmon. The salmon was just ok, maybe a hair undercooked. The salad base itself was pretty pathetic -- very few greens etc. At "only" $13 I should have ordered an extra, meatless one just for more salad base. I tried their marinara sauce with my calamari and I'm glad because it convinced me not to get any of their red sauce pastas o pizza. Very watery, flavorless, marinara. Below average for restaurants, definitely below Rao's. The service started ok but once their was a switch between one of the bartenders and one of the servers, the former totally neglected me. No refill on water, no asking if I wanted another drink. Had to wave (which I hate doing) to get his attention to grab the check. The place was mostly empty.I get this type of basic, red sauce-Italian-American joint is rare in SF, but it's not close to worth it at the price point here.
