Following tradition after receiving shots, we treat ourselves to ice cream. Yay, Rite Aid at the Fairmont Shopping Center in Pacifica has a Thrifty ICE CREAM counter!! Situated in a corner spot of the Fairmont Center, there is plenty of parking in the shopping centre's lot. This location of Rite Aid & Thrifty ICE CREAM is also conveniently neighbours with other retailers such as Safeway and DOLLAR TREE as well as eateries like Bolare Trattoria & Restaurant and Guerrero's TAQUERIA 2. Inside, the venue is always brightly lit, fairly clean, and tidy.Yes, this Thrifty ICE CREAM counter gives free sample tastings and their scoops are still in cylinder shape, too! At our most recent visit on Thursday, October 10, 2024, Tebo served us our ice cream orders with a friendly smile.Just like the old days, ice cream prices are still impressively affordable, especially compared to every other creamery. Some favourite flavours of my family's worth mentioning:Rainbow SherbertBlack CherryPistachio NutChocolate Malted KrunchPumpkinThank you, Thrifty ICE CREAM, for bringing me back to my childhood with every scoop that you serve. Every visit to you is like walking down memory lane with a delightful cone of nostalgia.

Everyone is so nice here. I'm always welcomed when I come in. The store is so clean and friendly people ask if I need help finding anything. I'm happy with their prices. They are very reasonable. Yes, I recommend Thrifty!

Tastes like my childhood. Nostalgia in a cup (or cone). Chocolate Malted Krunch still brings a smile to my face. Strawberry Cheesecake is another staple. Staff are friendly and expeditious. If you've forgotten what these classic flavors taste like, don't be shy to ask for samples til you find your flavorite. And if you can't make up your mind, splurge for a double scoop at only $2.99!Open til 9pm, 7 days a week. Though it's mostly foggy year round in these parts, it's never too cold for an iconic cylindrical scoop of Thrifty's!If for some reason the counter is closed upon you visit, stop by the freezer section for prepacked quarts of the same yummy flavors.

Cheap scoops of ice cream, but service is not so good. Oh well, as long the price is cheaper than outside price overall enjoying the cup of ice cream is important than the service

This Thrifty's is located right next to the cashier area at the plaza's Rite Aid. It's just a humble little counter where a worker needs to be called over to scoop what you'd like.I've known some friends from SoCal and what not who have mentioned Thrifty's, but otherwise, I wouldn't have known anything about it. With no real nostalgia for the ice cream here, I must say that as an adult, I found it to be quite enjoyable! I've tried a couple flavors and found them all to be satisfying cold and sweet. It was a bummer for me to see the Baskin Robbins have to go from this plaza a long while back, but hey, Thrifty's is a not a bad replacement at all!

Love it just as I remembered when I was a kid. I got birthday cake and just tasted how I remembered. Pricing was reasonable, it was just $4 filled to the rim. Workers are also patient, as I know they usually have to work elsewhere on the floor. They also have to wear the "Thrifty" hat when they're working at the ice cream station, so props to them!

I was looking for a quick ice cream place for my daughter one night and this place popped up on yelp...odd to go to a drug store (or something to that effect) for ice cream, but I guess I wasn't feeling like Magnolia's or anything fancy w corn in it on that day.Ice cream here is exactly what i used to eat 30 years ago from an ice cream parlor (or last week from the generic ice cream carton in the fridge)...so I guess "nostalgic" does fit the description, but it just tasted, well, old...which is like nostalgic, except for people that don't use big words. Was it good enough? Yes. My daughter wanted chocolate and vanilla and we got chocolate and vanilla--which are two flavors these days that are surprisingly hard to find without brownie chunks or sweet cream in them, respectively. They have a bunch of very standard flavors, so don't expect anything too gourmet, but it does the jobThe price for a two "scoop" (not exactly sure what they use to scoop it, but i am sure you can only find that scoop contraption in the darkest regions of Ebay or the Smithsonian) cone is $2.99, which is what we usually pay for the child's scoop anywhere else, so the price is more than reasonable.Great ice cream? No. Good value? Yes.Be back? Maybe.
