The Vault Steakhouse

Steak is amazing! All the other food is delicious as well. I celebrated my birthday here, and they gave great service. The table we got wasn't as ideal as I normally like the corner seats/side. But we reserved the piano lounge which had great ambiance.Will definitely go back, but will make sure I book the corner tables for best experience!

Came here on a Saturday night , very nice place and staff were really friendly and helpful! Food was amazing. I enjoyed the show when they mixing our salad and putting fire on our dessert! Atmosphere was great ! We loved it and definitely will be back for more !

I was in the mood for steak one night during a work trip to San Francisco, so I decided to head over to The Vault. The service was impeccable from the moment I walked in the door. I was greeted by live piano music and a friendly host. I sat down instantly and was handed menus and water. I ordered the 16 ounce ribeye and potato purée as my go-to order when trying a steakhouse for the first time. The steak came out and was a little disappointing on the eyes. I had visions of a thick juicy looking slab of meat, but this was pretty thin. But looks can be deceiving, right? Well, not really in this case. The steak was overcooked beyond my medium rare order. It was more like medium well. The steak was very flavorful, but it was also a little tough and chewy because it was overdone. For nearly $70 and listed at 16 ounces, I had higher expectations for this steak. The potato puree was fine. I really wanted to love this meal considering the price and how wonderful and attentive the staff were. The steak just fell short.

This is a great place for delicious food, especially the steaks. The service is wonderful, and the atmosphere is fantastic.

If you are looking for a good place for date night or even a business dinner, The Vault is a good option. It's a steakhouse located in the BofA Building on California Street.The bar area has a live piano player, the restaurant area is intimate and, something I like, not super noisy. The service is amazing and the wine list impressive.We were a party of 5 and we shared two dips, the artichoke and onion options. One of our party went with the tableside ceasar salad to go with her steak (sorry no picture) and the table shared the creamed spinach and pureed potatoes. I went light with a yummy lobster bisque and prawn Cocktail. The menu isn't huge, which actually makes it easier to choose! Everything was delicious.Definitely recommend

Wow, what a find! Well technically someone chose this spot for birthday dinner, but nevertheless I am super glad I got to come here. First thing that caught my eye was the piano at the entrance. That and the decor together gives a very cozy smooth jazz kind of vibe which I absolutely love. This would be a great anniversary/special event kind of spot. Service was TOP notch by everyone. They were always around the table to help with questions, get new orders, fill water, etc. Cutlery, plates, and serve ware were smoothly transitioned in and out which made the dining experience great. As for food, everyone at the table ordered different things but I had the bread, NY steak, and a bite of the tomahawk and ALL of those were 1000% worth it!!! The truffle sauce(?) for steak that is extra charge is SOOO worth it! I usually am skeptical of any "fancy" ingredient food bc places usually ends up barely having the flavor but the sauce definitely has that deep truffle flavor. I am glad I asked the server and followed the rec.

Came here for HH to kickoff our annual San Francisco holiday tour and it was the perfect first stop! This was my first time here but I had seen the Christmas decorations for the Vault Garden pop up on my feed multiple times so we decided to give it a try! (Side note, HH is only offered in the steakhouse so that's where we ended up going, but we walked by the garden and it was so cute!)When we first walked in, there was someone playing Christmas melodies on the baby grand piano and it was definitely the holiday vibes we were going for. They only offer HH in the lounge area, but since someone had booked out that are for a private party they were kind enough to move us to the main dining room but still honor the happy hour.All the food we had was yummy! We got the oysters, vault burger, and tots and they were all delicious. The only thing that was a little deceiving was that the burger and oysters are on the happy hour menu but they're regular price (still delicious though). Their martini was also made so well!We'll definitely be coming back next time to try the rest of the stuff on their menu.

2nd visit to The Vault, today is 5/14/24.Enjoyed the energy and vibe in the lounge this evening along with the live piano music. Ordered a glass of Pinot, potato Pave tots with caviar and a MW cooked Sirloin. The server mentioned anything over medium for this lean steak may result in it becoming tough. Thank you. Switched to a lean filet instead still requested MW preparation. Steak was perfectly prepared with a nice char. It was flavorful, slightly seasoned (not too salty) and melt in your mouth tender. The potato multi layered "tots" were once again heavenly. Delicious! Great dining experience once again. Thank you to Nick and the team.

First, and above the food the service was excellent from the minute we entered through the service by Lorelie (so?) which was above wonderful.The steaks were great the accouterments were good.
