While in the area for business, I needed to grab some lunch, but definitely had some time, so figured I would grab a casual, slow paced meal at this cute Italian spot. I was torn between the seafood salad and a classic pasta, and the waiter steered me towards the seafood salad. And, oh, my, god. I am still dreaming of this salad and trying to figure out how I can recreate it. It was so hearty, but light - the dressing was light, but spicy - and all the seafood was so fresh. It was simply one of the best dishes I have ever eaten and I am devastated that I don't live in the area to get it all the time.

Been here twice in the last year, both times had a decent experience. Ambience inside is nice, mixture of couples on dates, girls night out and groups. Favorite anti pastis have been the burrata and the duck liver pâté. SO good. I think they were better than the pastas. Insalata invernale super refreshing, love the crunchy candied pecans, fresh greens, and shaved fennel. The first time here I had a vegetarian mushroom risotto neither my friend nor I liked it much. This time we had the risotto Milanese with the added oxtail. Traditionally, the whole oxtail would have been made into the risotto, but here it was just the meat. Great flavors, but would've been nice to preserve the oxtail presentation. The Tallegio ravioli with mushrooms and brown sugar sage was decent, I love a buttery Sage combo Orecchiette was overcooked and SUPER salty and briney. Yes there are anchovies and olives so knew it was going to be salty but it was too much salt. The wine selection is decent and each time has been a heavy pour ;)

I would come back here for the cocktails in a heart beat. They have a wonderfully curated drinks menu. I had a tropical spin on a negroni that was bitter and flavorful in all the right ways. 9/10The food was just okay. We had a very bland mushroom risotto, a decent burrata toast with fairly undercooked (crunchy) squash and a decent brussels sprouts appetizer with pancetta, hazelnuts and balsamic. There was a lot of potential in the dishes but they tasted underwhelming. 6/10Service was efficient and unobtrusive. This is the old Eilte Cafe space and it still has hints of the old glory but with a beautiful facelift.

I have been to Tailor's son a couple times for dinner but decided to check out their brunch on Sunday.I ordered their honey lavender mocktail, omelette and a side of lemon ricotta pancakes. Honestly the pancakes were hands down the best part of the meal. The mocktail was light and freshing (just what I was looking for) but I think the omelette fell a little flat for me.Service was great and very attentive.

Came here on a Sunday night and it was busy!! My friends and I ordered many dishes and shared them family style. The ingredients tasted fresh and everything was delicious. Favorites were: burrata appetizer, taleggio ravioli, radicchio risotto and the bistecca.

I have walked by The Tailor's Son so many times and each time it's packed so of course we had to try it! We made the mistake of not making a reservation, and it was very crowded on a Tuesday evening. Luckily it wasn't too cold out yet so we were able to grab a table outside. We ordered a couple of appetizers to share and each got our own pastas. The crudo and the focaccia were delicious, and I ordered the ragu which I will definitely be coming back for. We also ordered a bottle of wine to go with our meal and everything was really good!I'll admit I didn't have any expectations coming in, but I was so happy we got to try this restaurant and I highly recommend it. Next time I'll definitely be making a reservation so that we can also enjoy the cute interior.

I've been to Tailor & Son a bunch of times and it never disappoints! Having just come back from a trip to northern Italy, all the food here rivals that of what I ate in Italy. The best part is they have seasonal menus so you get some nice fresh ingredients in dishes that rotate. I love getting a crostini (they go hard with a creamy ricotta) and the lemon ricotta pancakes are so good off the brunch menu (very fluffy and light, with a good crunch from the nuts). The pomodoro bucatini is also very standard and tasty with some thick al dente noodles. Other dinner menu items that I love include the alla milanese risotta (get it with bone marrow - heavenly) and the duck liver pate crostini and the ravioli... okay I could go on for days but I am a big fan of the food here. The ambiance is also really cute (both indoor and outdoor seating) and pretty relaxed. And the service is pretty fast. A hit!

We were here for a friend's birthday on a Wednesday night. We have reservations for 6:45pm and checked in. Unfortunately, we weren't seated till 7:04pm because they had to wait for the people at our table to leave. Poor planning on their part.On the bright side, the food and drinks were overall pretty good! The drink was so good I wanted to order more. My favorite food had to be the burrata and the brussels sprouts. However, I do think the appetizers were a lot better than the entree (the entree was just okay). But the food and drinks were pretty pricey.Be warned, it is quite a busy place so it was extremely loud the entire dinner. Don't expect to hear the person next to you. Overall, happy I got to try it and see what the hype was about, but wouldn't go back because of how busy and loud it is.

We stopped in for lunch at this open and airy Italian restaurant on the Fillmore Street restaurant row. After cozying up to the empty bar and settling down, we ordered a Caesar, a Bucatini All'amatriciana, and an Orata alla Ligure. The Caesar salad was a nice size, and I liked it. Traditional, with the correct amount of spice, the Bucatini was very good. My Orata was different. I have never tasted anything like it, even on the Ligurian coast. No pesto came near this dish. It had a whisper of the sea, but it was more robust and filling, the Cauliflower, olives, and garlic taking over the flavor. I couldn't finish the dish, and I'm a member of the clean plate club. Service was casual, but pleasant. At lunch, the Tailor's Son was filled with the young and beautiful, ear phones in, speaking with people unseen and unheard. It was like a Waymo for diners. Perhaps at night The Tailor's Son has more of a neighborly feel.

ONLY because of Makenna did we have a great time. She was lovely, accommodating, professional. I cannot say enough great things about her. If someone is reading this who wants to hire THE BEST, come to Tailor's Son and see for yourself (on a day that Makenna is here).
