I recently dined at The Post Room, burrowed within the elegant Beacon Grand Hotel in San Francisco, and was utterly charmed by the experience. From the moment I stepped in, I was enveloped in a sophisticated and invitingly cozy atmosphere, making it the ideal setting for a long-awaited catch-up with a dear friend. We started our meal with a selection of the absolute freshest oysters they had available. Their briny sweetness was perfectly complemented by the crisp, effervescent notes of an Italian brut. Adding to the extraordinary dining experience, our server was the epitome of attentiveness and knowledge, guiding us expertly through the menu and ensuring our every need was met with a smile. To enhance the evening further, we were treated to live music on that particular Saturday night, adding vibrant energy and a touch of magic to the lively ambiance. If you're seeking a truly memorable and delectable dining experience in the heart of San Francisco, I wholeheartedly recommend making a reservation at The Post Room. You won't be disappointed.

The restaurant is inside the Beacon. Beautifully decorated. A very peaceful ambiance. When we got there they were just opening. I wanted to try it as I had 2 vouchers for drinks and saw they had an espresso martini (not available). I was disappointed the drinks were only good for the mimosa or Prosecco. The Prosecco was good. My friend ordered a chicken Caesar salad, without meat $18 with meat they added $12. I thought it was overpriced as it was a small appetizer salad. I ordered a medium cooked burger, this was close to $30. The burger was perfect to me. Flavorful, delish and a nice size. The fries were flavorful but could be a little more crunchy. Our bill was $73 total (no tip) it included a service charge of $12... The service was good. He was nice, not going out of his way to talk. The food came pretty quickly after we ordered.

The reviews I read were really positive so we decided to give this place a try when we first arrived in San Francisco. This was my first meal in this city, so I don't want to be too harsh , but I must. The menu has good variety. We started with the 'famous house rolls'. $10 for 3 rolls and "honey butter'. Fine but not worth the cost of something that I think should be complimentary. I ordered mushroom risotto. It was tasty, but runny. Semi-unappealing. The burger and fries my husband ordered were fine. No complaints! So the food was okay. The service was very friendly , but slow. We sat for a food 20 minutes after the meal was cleared away and didn't see the server again. We had to flag her to get the check. Based on previous reviews I expected a speak- easy vibe. Not the case. It was so loud I had to keep asking my husband to repeat what he was saying because I couldn't hear him over the sound of a mediocre piano player/singer. I felt like I was sitting here in a gymnasium listening to a high school audition. On a positive note, the best thing about this place were the cocktails. They were well-crafted and tasty.

They didn't insult us... so they don't get 1 star. But we were 1 of 2 tables on a Saturday... everything we ordered sucked (shaksukka, lobster Benedict, and Cobb salad). Somehow the one modification (over easy instead of sunny side up eggs) they didn't do. I would have sent it back but no one came over to check in on us. Plus that was the worse shakshukka dish I ever had, tasted like canned tomatoes.

Had drinks at the bar on a Saturday night. There was live piano and a singer. The atmosphere was so lovely and elegant. The bartender was friendly, and the drinks were delicious. It's feels like you've gone back in time!

I should have paid attention to the negative reviews here and on OpenTable. We arrived at 3:30 pm for our holiday tea reservation. The restaurant manager checked us in and casually told us that we have to wait for 30 minutes because they have an event. Why did they accept reservation and not holding a a table for guests? I don't think he understand how the reservation works. We told them we are going to another restaurant because we don't want to wait that long. His response was "Ok". Not even an apology. We were trying to support local business, but this one doesn't deserve any support from us.

Went here for lunch on Sunday. Had to wait 30 minutes for our reservation. When we were sat they gave us a table in the back corner next to a table full of kids. The food took forever and wasn't what was described on the menu. No lemon on the Ice-T. Way too expensive for what it is and the service is lacking in the details. Avoid this restaurant. I honestly would have had a better meal and time at the Cheesecake Factory.

Awful! STAY AWAY!!We went for high tea and what a joke! On the website it said it was $90 pp when we got there it was $105 then they charged us 20% mandatory " service fee" for AWFUL service and TERRIBLE food!! We have had " High tea" in England multiple times and this was nothing like it!! They cooked tiny pieces of tasteless bread. The deserts were not good and the little sandwiches were made with cheep wonder bread. I had to chase the waitress around because she left food off our shared plate because of some food only I did not like. The place seems run by an Asian couple who has never been to a high tea in their lives! Nearly $300 food bill for food that was cheep and poorly made! And a 20% service fee for horrible service. This is a JOKE and SO over priced I was not at all surprised to read it was new!! They will be out of business in no time!! Don't waste your money!!!!

We came here for Thanksgiving evening. The scenery, ambience, and service were good, but the food is overpriced and mediocre as other reviews have noted. If they improved the food, I think this place would be pretty awesome. The neighborhood needs improvement with less sketch bothering our city's visitors, but maybe our new mayor will help.
