Stopped by here for a date night with my girlfriend last night and so have to say I was thoroughly impressed. We stopped by for the "Think Pink" Rosé and Cheese Pairing Class. When we arrived, we were greeted and led upstairs and handed a glass of bubbly rosé to enjoy while we waited for the rest of the class to arrive. The class itself was fun! Both instructors - Debbie, our Cheese teacher, and Ailis, our wine teacher - were very knowledgeable about their respective subjects and worked well together in guiding the class through tasting the different pairings and encouraging experimenting.Debbie in particular was an exceptional teacher - her enthusiasm about the subject and the way she took time to talk to everyone was something I really appreciated. The cheese and wines we tried were quite interesting - in fact, I actually found one of the only bleu cheeses that I've ever liked (it's called Roquefort for those who are interested). It was quite interesting to see how different cheeses paired with different wines and sides ( our cheese came with a side of bread, craisins, sourdough crackers, dark chocolate, and housemade rhubarb jam)All in all, my girlfriend and I had a great time at the cheese school. I'd definitely be down to check it out again (maybe for a charcuterie board class).5/5

Stumbled upon this place while at Ghirardelli Square and I am very happy that I did! Several cheeses to choose from! I enjoy sharper cheese. The Charcuterie board is great for sharing with 2-3 ppl.Add some wine to your visit for more fun! The staff had great recommendations and had jokes. This place is worth a visit when you're in the area! Enjoy!

Really enjoyed this charcuterie tray w/wine pairing. The cheeses were flavorful, creamy, but not over-powering. Their homemade raspberry jam is delicious btw! But I do wish there was more meat is all. I still give this place 5 stars since it tastes better than many other more expensive trays in the area. If you like charcuterie trays, definitely give this place a try!

Wonderful cheese and wine experience near Fisherman's Wharf! We were the first guests back after being closed many months due to the covid19 pandemic. The staff treated us to an amazing experience when they learned we were a bachelorette party from Philadelphia. They also had ties to Philly so enjoyed conversing with us about favorite shore towns. We enjoyed cheese boxes and carafes of wine. Try the Ghirardelli chocolates with the Gouda cheese.

I received a gift card and haven't been able to redeem it. I've emailed multiple email addresses over the past 2 months and their number doesn't work. I even tried FB messenger and it wouldn't go through. Please message me back if I can use my gift card .....

I randomly discovered the Cheese School while wandering around Ghiradelli Square. It's definitely worth a visit! If you dine here, you'll have a great view of Alcatraz. FOODI tried the grilled cheese and tomato soup. I wasn't a fan of this particular grilled cheese. The bread is on the harder side. The salad that it came with was fresh and tasty and the soup was excellent. I loved the cheese selection in the marketplace area. SERVICEEveryone here is so nice. Top notch service.

Friendly and welcoming! I loved how they greeted us and gave us great recommendations based on what we typically drink. We ordered a cider and a sparkling rose which we both enjoyed as we walked around Ghiradelli Square. They were kind enough to even say if we didn't enjoy either that they would find us something else! I would love to come back and try their cheese and charcuterie next time I'm in the area.

I was hobbling this day after hours at the museum, so climbing the stairs was not something I wanted to do, but I did, and I'm so happy to have finally made it to The Cheese School! I'd been following them on social media for a while, and everything always looks so delightful.I had the french onion soup, and my granddaughter had mac n cheese.Well; the soup was mediocre; it looked nothing like the photos and the cheese wasn't all the way melted which made it difficult to eat. The soup was cool, not hot, or warm and finding someone to help was not easy to do, so I gave up.The mac n cheese was extra cheesy, very hot and topped with delicious bacon.I'm an older person, I enjoy being seated, having a server and tipping well for good service. We ordered at the register, found our own table, were served by a food runner and never once saw an actual server. For the prices they charge, I would hope for better service; but, it's all about the location. I'd like to give the place a shot when it's not tourist season ... whenever that might be. $25.00 to park (after thirty minutes of driving to find a spot; which is typical in San Francisco) was far too much in my opinion; but hey, it's a racket!!!

This is such a fun and unique place in San Francisco! We were wondering around Ghirardelli Square and decided to stop in because a place called "The Cheese School" seemed intriguing. We stopped by around 5:30pm on Saturday. We had dinner reservations later but decided a cheese board would be a perfect appetizer. The cheese board was $18 and a glass of wine was $13. The staff was very helpful and explained all our options and gave different background info on each of the cheeses. The best one, by far, was the Manchego, which won Best Cheese of 2012. We ate it together with the quince paste and it was amazing! At the end, they brought us 60% Dark Ghirardelli to pair with a salty Gouda which was also amazing!

Stopped in after seeing a sign for hot mulled wine on a chilly evening. I wish we hadn't just come from dinner because the menu (especially the cheese board) looked delicious and I would have loved to try it. The mulled wine was probably the best I've had and it was definitely better than the line for the Ghirardelli sundae. Oh and the views from the sunroom were pretty great.
