Family owned, perfect deli sandwiches. You cannot go wrong ordering anything here. The dutch crunch bread they have it phenomenal. My favorite sandwiches to order include the Godfather and San Fran-psycho! Expert tip. You can also call ahead and pickup!

This place makes a fantastic sandwich, and I highly recommend trying the Freak on Dutch Crunch! The bread has that perfect crispy texture, adding a great crunch to every bite. One thing to note is that they're very generous with the toppings and sauce--almost to a fault. While it adds a lot of flavor, it can be a bit overwhelming, so if you prefer a more balanced bite, I'd recommend asking for a lighter hand on the extras. That said, the combination of textures and flavors still makes for a delicious and satisfying sandwich that's definitely worth trying!

The dutch crunch bread is the truth. We grabbed a couple of sandwiches on our way out of town and figured we would catch sunset in the Presidio. The fog ruined our view but these sandwiches...We had a City Boy and a Chicken Bacon Ranch. Gotta love a toasted sub. Both were huge and we realized we could have easily split one and been content for dinner. The bread is everything and I dare say the thing that sets these subs apart. Of course the fact that the roast beef was high quality and the chicken cutlets super juicy and tender also contributes to the magic. And they don't skimp on the fixings either. I definitely got a full serving of veg in this sub which makes me feel better about the copious amounts of bacon, ranch dressing and melty provolone that came on that CBR.Other reviews said the staff were not friendly but they just seemed like efficient people running a busy shop to me. This makes my list of must eats in San Francisco. Sad I didn't get their acclaimed sanfranosycho but then again, more reason to come back!

5/5 Cannot emphasize it enough, please go!!Too good to describe...I think the sandwich was honestly really flavorful, it had a lot of sauce, you can customize the ingredients, it's just overall a high quality sandwich. I got the Freak and San Franpsycho, both were yummy in their own ways. No bathroom but it's conveniently located inside a little convenience store so you can buy a variety of snacks and drinks while you wait for your sandwich to be made.

My brother and I put in a pick up order online to pick up before fleet week (it's also right by Philz so we got our caffeine too). It was easy, Apple Pay made it so swift. We showed up and it was waiting for us on the shelf to the side. This place is in the back of the store of course because it's a deli! We went half and half on the Sanfranpsycho and Godfather. And of course, on dutch crunch for both! I'll always get dutch crunch if it's available because it handles the juices of the sandwich so well...and gotta get it for the crunch! We got these for a fleet week picnic, so by the time we unwrapped our sandwiches a couple of hours later they were still in great shape. If you don't like any sort of spicy, Godfather is nice and basic, sort of a palette cleanser. But if you're up for a little spiciness, definitely get the Sanfranpsycho. My brother thought the Sanfranpsycho was significantly tastier. I liked both, but Sanfranpsycho is definitely more unique especially with that red spicy and sweet creole sauce. Great sandos, easy to order online ahead of time, and convenient spot to grab and go.

Wow, what a sandwich! These boys do it right. The deli is in the back of a small, local market. Head directly to the back wall, and select your choice from the multitude of pre set options, or make your own! Meat, cheese and possibly a sauce are placed on your choice of bread then toasted, and after you can put your veggies of choice, olive oil, vinegar, more sauce, salt, pepper. The lettuce is crunchy and shredded; love their shredded lettuce. It all comes together in a harmony of delicious flavors and textures in the mouth. Quick, easy. It's a clean space, and the market offers so many drink and chip options. Pick up for a picnic or road trip, or stroll down Polk. Yum.

Welcome to The Boys' where there is almost no wrong answers. A consistent reply to the question of, "who has the best sandwich in the city?" To what many reply, "them boys of course." Again, not a wrong answer. These sandwiches are big, and full and wet. Yes, don't let your kids read this. They've got the system wired, 2 of them boys were just back there on a Sunday slanging sammies to a line full of people. I won't bore you with all the details, just know if you are looking for the best, you might have found it here. There's really nothing else to say. (4.8 Stars)

Their Dutch Crunch bread takes their sandwiches to the next level! I love how crisp and crackled it is on the outside yet soft on the inside. My go-to is the Sanfranpsycho, which comes with honey turkey, gouda, pesto, garlic spread, and remoulade (a creamy and tangy Creole-style made with mayo, mustard, hot sauce, and spices). You can't go wrong with that set of ingredients! The meat is from Boar's Head, which is supposedly high quality with fine ingredients. To top things off, their veggies are very fresh and extra crisp. I particularly like their pickles which they also sell on the side. I've also tried their Escape From Alcatraz sandwich which comes with chipotle chicken. It was tasty but heavier than the Sanfranpsycho. I do occasionally enjoy the Sandlot Sandwich which comes with rotisserie chicken and avocado. Still, nothing beats the Sanfranpsycho. These sandwiches are $14.99, but they make for a super filling meal and can even be 2 meals for some people. Each time I've been here, there's been a short wait of about 15-20 mins from end to end. You can also call or order online in advance. I also enjoy checking out the snacks and drinks in the deli. I typically go for the Burke's naturals sour belts. The store is well-organized and doesn't feel dingy like some other delis. It's also located so conveniently on Poll right next to Philz.

The Sanfranpsycho tasted great but was overhyped in my opinion. I got so many recs for this sandwich and while it tasted great, it was nothing exceptional. The service was nice too and this is a grocery store so there's no seating. Would recommend!

The Boys Deli, is a solid deli with some real deal sandwiches that are not only filling but delicious at the same time. The most recent experience we went the Recession sandwich which comes with turkey, prosciutto, and mozzarella plus all the fixings. The sandwich itself was big and honestly the gf and I split one and we were filled up. The dutch crunch was fresh and soft, and the sandwiches are toasted which is always a plus. For $15 it's worth it for the size and amount of meat you get. My pro tips would be to call ahead and order. We were quoted 20-25 minutes, so definitely save time and call ahead. The deli is located in a liquor/grocery store, and they had some nice adult beverage selections to complete our park day. Good news, is that they are opening a new location in San Bruno soon, right next to CutRight Barbershop, which means I won't be having to drive into the city to get my boy deli sandwich fix.
