This is one of our favorite Thai spots in the city.We used to come here all the time when we lived in Pacific Heights. Located on a prime stretch of Polk Street, Thai Spice is this cute, beautifully decorated restaurant with plenty of seating. It is usually quite busy for the weekend dinner crowd, but their food has been top notch every time. Last night we went again and tried the Roti dip, super flaky and buttery delicious, and Pik Khing, a delicious sweet stir fry. They also have great cocktails (with flavors like mango and yuzu). Can't wait to be back again.

If you're in the area, this spot is definitely worth a visit. The food is absolutely delicious, and the décor and ambiance are clean and peaceful. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is that the food took a little longer than expected to arrive. Otherwise, I'd highly recommend this place.

Would not go back. I don't usually complain about service but the service was poor and quite disrespectful since we were taking our time with ordering. But now on to the food. I had the chicken satay, pad see ew and green curry. The chicken satay was bland, in a chunky peanut sauce which was not pleasing at all just tasted like a chunky kraft peanut butter on chicken. The pad see ew smelt and tasted slightly burnt, NOT CHARRED... burnt but definitely good have tasted better if it weren't for that. Lastly the green curry was just ok, slightly bland and just felt like it needed more time for the ingredients to blend together more

Thai Spice offers a lovely, intimate atmosphere with dim lighting and close seating, making it a cozy dining spot. The staff were very attentive and accommodating--our reservation was for 5:45 PM, but they kindly seated us early when we arrived ahead of time. The menu is extensive, so our party ordered a variety of proteins, noodles, and specialties. The standout dish for me was the Massamun Beef Roti--the braised short rib was incredibly tender, falling off the bone into shreds that spread effortlessly onto the flaky, well-made roti. It reminded me of a scallion pancake with its many layers, adding a great texture. Another highlight was the Crab Fried Rice, which was generously packed with tender crab meat that blended beautifully with the rice and egg on top. The house-made sauce took it to another level, adding depth and layers of flavor. The Kao Pad Gra Prow was also a hit, featuring crispy green basil mixed into perfectly cooked ribeye steak, with a runny egg that tied everything together. On the downside, the Pik Khing was disappointing--the green beans were raw and crunchy instead of sautéed as pictured on their website. The Pad Thai was also underwhelming, feeling clumped together with basic flavors. If I return, I'd skip the Pad Thai and explore more of their curry-based dishes, which seem to be their strength.Overall, Thai Spice delivers on flavorful, well-prepared Thai cuisine with excellent service, though some dishes stand out more than others.

I came here on a Friday night with a friend around 6 pm. We walked in and were seated immediately with no reservations, though it was pretty crowded by the time we left. I'd recommend coming earlier to avoid the dinner rush. There were so many dishes I wanted to try, but decided on the khao soi with chicken. They gave pretty big portions that I ended up saving half as leftovers. The broth was incredibly flavorful, and I really liked the ambience of this place, which makes it very great for a romantic date night or GNO.

Wanted to try a new Thai place and glad I did! The Num Tok (grilled ribeye salad) really hit the spot. Love the herbs in the salad and am also glad I got medium heat - the perfect combo of sweet/spicy/salty/umami. Would order/dine irl!

This is one of my favorite Thai restaurants in SF! The flavors are amazing, portions generous, and the interior is adorable and perfect for a casual weeknight dinner out. I love the Roti with curry sauce - an absolute must to start with. I love any of the noodle dishes (soup or stir fried), but specifically love the Pad See Ew here. It has a great char that I'm always looking for in my Thai food. The Thai tea here is also incredible! Perfectly sweet and creamy, but not overwhelming. It's a little pricier than your typical Thai takeout restaurant, but I definitely think it's worth it! I find myself coming back here time and time again.

Visited Thai Spice around 6pm on a Sunday. It was fairly empty but as dinner went by, the place started to fill up. The inside is nice and modern. Service was standard. Our server was friendly. The best place about Thai Spice is the value and the food! Beef Pad Thai ($16.5): The Pad Thai had a nice sauce to it. Tamarind was tangy and tasty. Noodles were cooked great. Beef was tender, tofu had a nice chew. Big portion as well with nice portions of beef. Solid pad Thai, one of the best I've tried in the city!Roti Dip ($10.95): Was so delicious. Had a nice crunch, sauce was great.Happy hour is daily 5-7pm and appetizers and cocktails are all $1 off. Will definitely be back at Thai Spice. I've been looking for my go to Thai spot in the city and I think I finally found it!

Hands down the best Thai food I've ever had! The service was outstanding--our server took the time to explain the dishes and even customized the spice level to our preference. The yellow Curry was rich and creamy, and the sticky rice with mango was the perfect ending to our meal. Will definitely be back!
