I decided to grab lunch here and it was pretty quiet during peak lunch hours. I got a breakfast burrito with no beans for a little over $8. Flavor wise the burrito was decent, but I did find multiple hairs within it. I ended up tossing the burrito since there was 1 too many hairs. I definitely rather go to the Mexican place inside the Cesar Chavez.

Jamba Juice just opened up where Taza is. They had a little soft opening before the start of the spring session. Taza is still there, but Jamba took over half the store. Their menu is not the same at some of it's location, so it's more of a limited Jamba Menu, but i'm pretty sure they can make anything you ask for. I am a little disappointed with the prices, i do find it expensive, but again it's a chain and it's on campus, so what do you expect. They have their Classic drinks starting at $4.99, for example Orange-A Peel and Caribbean Passion. The specialties or as they call it All Fruit drinks start at $5.59. And of course why will allow you to add a boast. Hopefully, they will expand their menu soon.

This place is a hidden gem on campus. For breakfast burritos go to the student center but for anything else come here.

This place has the best smoothies on the SFSU campus, and their Tandoori Chicken Wraps are to die for. I really enjoy almost all their food, I just wish they were open longer and on the weekends too! If you are on the SFSU campus during the week and you want bang for your buck, check out Taza!

Since I work in the Student Services Building at SFSU, this is my usual lunch spot - the tables are usually clean, and I appreciate the fact that you can see them making everything. The super nachos (chicken is my fave) are a good buy, especially for when you're really hungry, because they're quite filling. I usually just get a cheese or a veggie quesadilla on spinach tortillas with a side of sour cream. A caveat on the sour cream, though -- they keep it stored in squeeze bottles for easy serving, and when you order a side of it, it comes out bubbly and frothy because of the air in the squeezing process. That perturbed me a bit at first, as did the fact that their "salad" looked like... leftover taco toppings with sour cream drizzled on the top.Do not order the fish tacos. Please, don't. I thought it would be a good steal like Rubio's - but it's really just a fishstick inside a tortilla. The smoothies are usually a good bet, though, especially the one with chocolate and strawberries - the name escapes me. They also used to have those tequila flavoured lollies with scorpions in them, which, though I'd never buy them, are interesting to look at.Also - no minimum purchase to use your credit card! I've also come here almost every day all summer and have never found any unwanted items in my meals the way other reviewers have, but I've also noticed different people working here than the people I would see in the regular semester.

Another excellent spot for Mexican food at San Francisco State University. I pass by this place to go to Subway at the Centennial Village and I can't believe I haven't tried the burritos here until today. The bean and cheese burrito is delicious. Friendly staff and good service.Hungry for a burrito or nachos and tacos? Come to Taza Smoothies and Wraps!

San Francisco State University exists in, what is for all intents an purposes, a food desert. If you are ever unfortunate enough to be trapped on campus during lunchtime, you'll be faced with a number of unpleasant choices: Shall I brave the line at Ike's, or try my luck at the places upstairs? Which is less likely to give me food poisoning, the burrito place or the chinese restaurant? Do I really want to eat lunch in a poorly-lit, partially subterranean, neo-brutalist fortress that houses families of pigeons in food prep areas? With that in mind, realize that Taza barely would rate three stars anywhere else in the city, but in the wasteland that is SFSU, Taza is one of the best options around. That being said, their burritos are barely deserving of the name, service can be slow and surly at peak times, and their breakfast options are...lacking, to say the least. However, in this case, the good outweighs the bad. Taza gets major points for being able to make a decent wrap (I'm a particular fan of the chicken caesar and the spicy thai chicken), accepting credit cards, and managing to produce what is, in essence, decent cuisine at a decent price. The mostly inoffensive music is played loud, and on a sunny day (rare as they may be at SFSU) their patio is one of my favorite places on campus to stretch out, people-watch and enjoy lunch while my nearly translucent skin soaks up some sun. Taza, alright.

Not a bad place to run across when you're waiting for graduation to start and you're starving! Carne asada burrito is very mediocre. The burrito was good size but the ingredients were bland. What do you expect for a college campus. The salsa didn't have any kick, so it wasn't much help to the burrito.Pricing was reasonable. $5.95 for a good sized burrito, $1.50 for a small bottled Calistoga bottled water. When your options are limited, you take what you can get.
