Came here to try out their happy hour deals before a concert at the Independent (definitely walking distance)! My friend and I tried the drinks (sangria and margaritas for the day we went), and we got the ikaage, the arctic char & avocado roll, shrimp tempura roll, saba nigiri, and crunchy spicy tuna hand roll! All the food was fresh and delicious! And such a good deal too! I'll definitely be back again - overall definitely a 10/10!I liked the ambiance as well - there is plenty of seating and the dim lighting and decor add to the overall vibe of the restaurant! The service was also good! The servers are attentive and food comes out relatively quick! :)

Overall good spot for a daily happy hour - 4:30-6:30. Went on a Friday for 3 people, around 5pm and had no line! Everything is $6 - rolls, drinks, and apps. Good amount of food for a good price!

I decided I needed a little happy hour to celebrate taking two back to back exams. The sushi here was so tasty and loved the little purple lychee sangrias. Everything was $6 on the happy hour menu. We were tucked into a little corner of the bar where we could chat. If you want a table, this place seems to get booked out so make a reservation. Otherwise walk up for either the bar or sushi bar, have a glass of sangria, a cocktail or beer and good bites for $6. I would definitely be back again.

Really enjoyed Tataki and their happy hour deals! Came here twice with friends after work and it's always a pleasant time. The servers were friendly and accommodating, we were sat right away once arrived. Service was pretty fast too. The place itself is cozy, like your neighborhood go-to restaurant. Their happy hour deal were great and delicious! Well priced for san francisco. I believe they open at 4:30 for happy hour until 6pm. We ordered quite a bit to ensure we make the hour or so last. They do get busy around this time so come early! We had couple of their sushi rolls, calamari, tofu, and nigiri and all were so good! The servers were attentive and would come by to ask if we needed anything or order any more food, etc. Would definitely come back and try their other food from their regular menu.

I came here as a back-up to another sushi happy hour and we all left unexpectedly very pleased with our meal at Tataki. As a walk-in, we were told we would have to vacate our table within 1 hr but thankfully they didn't end up pushing us out.The spicy margaritas were amazing - they were actually spicy from the jalapeños and strong. The calamari was passable but the sushi was the star of the night. We got an order of each of the nigiri to try and my group enjoyed them so much we re-ordered some of our favorites. The hotate and iwana were sooooo tender and buttery. The fish were lesser known cuts of fish than your typical tuna and salmon but the nigiri were all executed very highly. Usually happy hour sushi fish is quite subpar and the rice is never really that good. I would def come back :-)

We came here for an early dinner and to take advantage of Tataki's daily happy hour. The restaurant didn't have a line or anything but by 6pm there were people waiting for a table. The food is most definitely worth the price during happy hour as $6 for rolls is not easy to find in SF. The sushi itself was good but the scallop nigiri was bitter and clearly not fresh. This was a cheap way to eat some good sushi at a restaurant but I don't think you need to go out of the way to try this spot.

Tataki is my go-to spot to catch up with friends when they all return to visit family in San Francisco. I've been coming here since Summer 2023 and the food does not disappoint. $6 drinks (limited cocktails, usually 1-2 options, and beer/wine), $6 apps, $5 cut rolls, $4 hand rolls... you get the idea. Decently priced and very solid food. The service, however, can be hit-or-miss. Come early, because once they get busy you'll be lucky to get the check within 20 minutes of finishing your food, or at least that was our experience tonight. The seating is mostly tables of two, with a few tables of four lined along the back wall. There's room to sit at the bar or the sushi counter if you're okay with being in the corner with your back to the door. Tonight we ordered some appetizers from the kitchen and our waitress left before taking our sushi order, not returning until my friend flagged her down again to let her know we weren't finished ordering. No upsell, clearly, but I wondered if they even wanted to take our money at that point. I ordered a glass of white wine, and was not told what kind of wine I was getting--maybe that's just what you get for $6? After eating and chatting for quite a while, the waitress returned to check in with us, and I asked for the check. She walked away, and other servers continued to serve the table around us, and we watched them finish their meals and drinks, receive their checks, pay, and leave all in the time that we were waiting! I wonder if they just weren't concerned about flipping tables tonight? This was my third or fourth time back to Tataki, but feel free to send me other recommendations for HH in SF where I won't feel as forgotten as a patron.

Came here with a friend for happy hour a little after 5pm. We were sat immediately by the hostess. We ordered exclusive off the happy hour meal and I think it was a good deal for the price! Oh and they provided complementary green tea at the end of our meal. Despite being a relatively large space the place was very busy and if your party is more than 2, I recommend considering a reservation.
