Food is pretty good, but whoah definitely not worth an hour wait!We came on a Saturday, and I soon as I saw the ridiculous line, I wanted to go, but knew I couldn't be the wifey that always says no to lines... Luckily it's in a walkable area where the kids and I went to the bookstore across the street while my determined hubby waited in line for about 35 minutes just to order and maybe another 15+ for the food/drinks. The Caesar Salad was definitely one of the prettiest I've seen for a counter- order, with full anchovies and edible orange flowers. I would've asked for lighter dressing though, it was a bit too heavy for my taste. Tuna sandwich was pretty good, they do have their sandwiches on fresh artisanal breads. The whole farm carrots, unshredded) were an interesting artistic choice of a topping... My kid loved the breakfast sandwiches which came with a very thick fluffy egg patty, and soft brioche bread. My cappacccino was mediocre, but I'm pretty picky about high quality espresso drinks.

I enjoyed my cheddar, bacon, chive scone and iced oatmilk latte. No complaints with the food (obviously!!) Staff and service is a little subpar in my opinion - it's always packed on the weekends...like line out the door all morning...but I think we can all still be friendly and nice right?!

The café is a madhouse on weekends. The food is delicious but super expensive ($$$). I got a matcha latte with oat milk which came to $9....The service is okay - they need more than one cashier to get food ordered for dining in or take out (the lines take too long). Ideally, one separate cashier for takeaway drinks and pastry. The ambiance is lively; families or couples seem to dominate the scene. It is noisy and crowded.I mostly takeaway because it's not very restful in the café - better to be in the San Francisco Botanical Gardens which are close by just within the 9th Avenue entrance of Golden Gate Park.Food: 4-star ($$$)Service: 3 stars Ambiance: 3.5 starsOverall: 3.5 stars

Came to Tartine for a cute lunch before heading to Golden Gate Park. Parking was a nightmare as with most of SF - all street parking. There were plenty of pastry options. Tried a chocolate croissant - the outside was flakey and chocolate was well dispersed. Thought it could have been more buttery though. For the main dish, had a Smoked Salmon Tartine. It was an elevated lox and cream cheese on toast. The addition of mustard seed, pickled red onion and dill added texture and a sour element that complimented the dish overall. I will say that the food here is pretty expensive but worth a try if you're in the area :)

My friend and I came here for brunch on a Sunday morning. It was quite busy with a line right to the door. The line moved steadily as time went on. Food:My friend and I shared the mushroom grilled cheese and the avocado toast. The avocado toast was good, but it was quickly outshined by the mushroom grilled cheese. The grilled cheese was absolutely delicious. It was decadently cheesy and full of flavor. I would return for the grilled cheese alone. If cheese or mushrooms are not your thing (they are very much my thing), I do recommend the avocado toast. Service:Service was a little slow on this Sunday. This was to be expected as it was so busy. We ordered at the cashier and found a table to wait for our food. We were lucky to find a table inside to sit at right after we ordered. TL;DR - get the grilled cheese

Tartine is a wonderful place in the Inner Sunset. I had the savory scone, which was amazing, and the best chai latte of my life. Not even kidding. The small outdoor area in front is also perfect for pets. I met a friendly Golden Retriever named Waffles.Hard Advice: Go on a weekday. You will wait half an hour to place your order on a Saturday. The staff is not incompetent or anything; the place is just that popular. After you place your order, a server will bring it to your table. Food makes it out of the kitchen pretty quickly.Great walking neighborhood after you have had your coffee or tea. The Botanical Garden is very close by and free to SF residents.

Came by on a Saturday morning before heading to the cal academy. There was a short line but we were soon helped and seated. The pastries were good and you could tell they were fresh. My one critique is that the morning bun could use a little more orange zest and be maybe a little crispier. Overall a solid spot to get breakfast to start off your day.

On the corner of 18th street and Guerrero always had the good baked goods in my old neighborhood and close to my high school in the Mission. Tartine had moved in the early 2000's and had lots of people stopping there on their way to Dolores Park. Tartine has expanded in San Francisco and I went the Tartine Inner Sunset location to try some of their bake goods on my way to Golden Gate Park. The inside of Tartine on 9th Avenue had more open space than the one on Guerrero street . The decor at the Inner Sunset location is much more modern as the Guerrero location is more rustic ( like their style of bread). At the 9th Avenue location they offer different bake goods. I had to try the croissant and it was okay but it was very flaky at this location. I also had the passion fruit cake which was a bit tarty ( I guess that's why it's called Tartine) not too sweet and savory but tasty and not bland. This location offers breakfast and wine. A good place to enjoy desserts in the Inner Sunset. Although I like the bake goods at Tartine on Guerrero more than the 9th Avenue location between Irving and Lincoln The Inner Sunset Tartine location has more room for eating and drinkin
