This place really doesn't deserve the low reviews. Their potstickers were very tasty and their tea was welcoming. It felt like a very authentic establishment and everyone in there was laughing and having a good time. Great for locals and foreigners.

Food: Everything tasted great! There could have been more meat in the rice noodle roll but for the price I was not complaining! Service: service was lacking but not unexpected Ambiance: similar to service above- all expected tho.

Yelp notes this place as closed, but we were just there this past weekend, and it was a pretty packed restaurant. We wanted claypot rice, but the place my dad usually likes to go was packed. We decided to give this place a try instead. Note - there's only one server, and she was busy. Took a while to clean up tables and take orders. Also hard to get her attention. Food also took a while to come out. I liked the siumai and rice noodle roll. However, the soup dumplings weren't steamed long enough, so the outside was still doughy. The lo mein was made with top ramen noodles rather than the egg noodles. The beef was a bit tough, and there wasn't enough sauce. The claypot rice was ok. It had good flavor but was missing those crispy rice bits. The prices were reasonable, but food was hit and miss.

*This place is not closed, as indicated*Small, hole-in-the-wall spot for dim sum on the border of Chinatown. Not anything fancy, but it's a good value. Service was really good. The food was about average for small neighborhood dim sum spot. Little things could be done better; for example, the soup dumplings come in a foil cup instead of wax paper, which means it gets stuck to it and breaks apart. Again, it's good, not great, but fulfills the craving.

Taishan Taste Dessert and Dim Sum is a Chinese restaurant specializing in Taishan dishes. We were nearby and dropped in for dinner. The place is small and one of several restaurant for the same outfit.Safety Pluses - Online menu, Delivery services available, online ordering. Food Review:Sesame Paste ($4.80) is thick and black. Not too sweet. 7.5/10American Ginseng Chicken soup ($9) is very hot out of the steamer and pretty bitter. Lots of ingredients. 8/10Garlic Choy Sum ($12) were cooked well and high in quantity. 8/10Chinese sausage meat and eel clay pot rice ($16.80) had lots of Chinese preserved meats and some crispy rice. 8/10Spare rib clay pot ($13.80) had very salty meat. Overall this is not as good as Blue Sky Cafe's. 7/10Cilantro rice noodle ($4) was housemade and really good. 9/10Overall - GoodFood - GoodDecor - GoodService - GoodValue - GoodWould we come back - Maybe

My son and I were on our way to the airport and had a couple of hours to kill. We were also hungry. Given the 2-3 pm PT time, not many restaurants were open. We saw that this restaurant was open, however. Decided to give it a try and didn't have high-expectations. We ordered by pointing at the pictures LOL! Surprisingly, the food tasted amazingly good! The service too was friendly and fast. There were dim sum options on the menu but didn't have to time to try them. If I find this place again, I will pay another visit.

I've been ordering delivery from them, this place is not closed. My favorite item from them is the pork bones & veggie congee, the portion is slightly less than most places but the price is also. There are a good amount of tender pork meat on the bones which are mainly pork ribs instead of some random cuts, and the congee itself tastes flavorful. It's slightly different everyday tho--which you know it's freshly made everyday--imo the first time I got it was the best since it's slightly sweet, I don't know if it's from the choy sum or the marinade of the pork bones, and the second time it wasn't sweet but still pretty good, then the third time they used lettuce instead of choy sum, which is kinda a disappointment since I prefer choy sum way more, but it's still delicious. The cheung fun (rice noodle rolls) were a bit too oily, and not enough fillings at all (like way less than everywhere), but the rice noodle rolls themselves are soft and gooey which I like so I don't mind ordering it once a while. Their soups are all pretty good, small portions but good for the price and there are always a good amount of different kinds of meat in them (pork, chicken, quail, etc, most of the time mixed). Their beef brisket wonton soup is great imo too, the soup is very flavorful and a bit sweet, the brisket pieces are very soft and tender, and the wontons themselves are alright. I still think it's the best beef brisket wonton soup I've gotten in the city so far, since I normally wouldn't like them without any hot sauce or vinegar, but this I can enjoy with no problem. The bbq pork bun was bad, like the worst I've gotten in the city but I don't get this item often. It's obviously previously frozen and store bought. Would not recommend at all.The fried dough sticks were too hard and a bit too oily and salty, I think a sprinkle of sugar would make them a lot better. The Xiaolongbao were all broken and the bottom of them all stuck to the foil cup when I received them, which means they are previously frozen too. But they tasted alright, there are still a good amount of soup in them, I just wish they are not broken. That's everything I've gotten from them for now, I think I'll still keep ordering since I'm always having stomach problems and I need congee a lot for that reason. I'll keep updating.

You might have to give them some time to ramp up. This location was a disappointment compared to the others in the "Taishan" family. Service was spotty. Food was so-so.

The restaurant is average here. The food isn't so great and service was okay. Probably not come back because the price and food isn't so good.

Food tastes OK, but is overpriced. This place tries to overcharge customers. You should look at your receipt carefully.
