Awesome spot towards the south part of the Mission. The interior is quite nice, a lot newer and more renovated than the other taco spots in the Mission. Don't mistake this for the food being bad; it's bomb. For tacos, we got al pastor, chorizo, pollo, and carne asada. The chorizo was our favorite; super flavorful, not dry, and has a slight char to it. Probably the best chorizo I've ever had. The al pastor was also really good; strongly flavored, juicy, and not overly fatty like some al pastor. Carne asada was a tad bit dry, but the seasoning was on point. Pollo was just ok. The driest of the meats, and flavoring wasn't on point. The fish taco was solid, but the actual amount of fish you get isn't super large. Too much batter. The birria tacos were good, but I still preferred the standard meat tacos. The beans were also exceptional. Not mushy, well seasoned, absolutely delicious.A must try, please go!

I loooove this place! Love getting a variety of tacos. My favorite is always the birria and vampiro.Would be my go to place if it wasn't a little far away from me but always crave it when I'm in the neighborhood. Love all the sauces too!!

WOW!! Hands down some of the best birria tacos I've had.. generous amount of meat in the taco, generous portion & the consommé was delicious. It was served with chips & salsa, and a variety of other salsas to choose from. I also got the Taco Patron, the shrimp taco with cheese, guacamole & pico de gallo, which was tasty, but the birria taco was really the shining star & I wish I actually just got 2 birria tacos instead! Definitely recommend coming here!

There is seating inside, but when we went in the evening they were all full. We also had to wait in line to order. The quesabirria was great, there was a lot of meat in it. The vampiro had a nice smokey flavor, but the meat was too tough for my liking. Overall would definitely come back here if I'm looking for a casual, good meal.

Really good selection of Mexican food. Everything I had was top notch and I really liked their salsas they offered.I like that they have their store sauces in little squeeze bottles so I can keep myself a lil more dignified. The portion sizes are pretty good and prices seem fair (for SF).Staff was friendly and greeted us upon walking in and although we lingered for a bit we didn't feel rushed. Good decor and everything felt clean.

The fish tacos at this particular establishment are amazing. Might be my favorite in San Francisco. Order at the counter, get a number for your table and they bring your food. Max capacity 42 peoples, and the place is packed at 6:30 on Sunday! The service is quick.Sangria comes by the pint or pitcher!Chips and salsa are fresh and warm!Got to try all the tacos, they all look amazing.

Yooooo! Best Quesabirria tacos in the mission. In my opinion. Order regular birria tacos and it's the jam. When they ask if you'd like cheese, heck yeah! The juicy flavor and amount of meat they place inside your taco... you won't be mad about it. On tuesdays they give $1 off their tacos. I've also had the carne, fish and pastor tacos. Really enjoy all of it. They give chips on the side and provide super yummy salsa's to go with your cheaps and your food. It can get pretty busy inside during a rush so you'll want to grab a spot quick when you arrive and have a friend order.I've also placed orders via delivery service and it still taste the same. (But that can depend on your delivery driver) restaurant quality and consistency is there still. I'll update photos next visit.

I usually go to tacos el patron when looking for a solid taco option -- this place does not disappoint usually. The restaurant itself is clean and large and chips are free! The service is friendly and fast too. I did takeout recently and got a pastor taco, a birria taco, and a fish taco. Let's start with the good: the fish taco was AWESOME! Soft, fleshy fish that was still crisp under the toppings. The baja sauce was tangy and everything was saucy and delicious. The birria was also great and packed with meat. It wasn't super oily or heavy, and a little crisp. The broth itself was yummy and salty. The pastor taco was disappointing this time. The meat was tough and I honestly couldn't discern whether it was pork, steak, or something else. It also lacked the smoky and sweet flavor of al pastor. Overall, I would highly recommend this place (just know that it can vary a bit based on the day and your luck)

I came here recently with my girlfriend since she had a craving for tacos and had seen it recommended highly somewhere online. We got here around 5 pm, so it was pretty early for dinner and we were able to grab a table immediately. The inside is quite nice and spacious, with plenty of seating for people to choose from. For my tacos, I decided to go with the Birria Taco, Taco Patron, and Taco de Pescado since these were some of the specialty tacos they had here. I have to say, these are probably some of the best tacos I've had in the Bay Area so far and definitely need to be known by more people. The meat in the Birria taco was tender and juicy, while the shrimp in the taco patron was very fresh and flavorful. The battered fish in the taco de pescado was also great, as it had a nice crisp to it and went well with the pico de gallo and salsa. They have various sauces for you to choose from to go with the tacos, and chips/salsa are complimentary with every dish (highly appreciated). We also shared a large horchata which was also excellent and I definitely recommend getting it. Overall, Tacos El Patron is another spot in the Mission District helping to solidify its reputation for great Mexican food. I highly encourage people to try it out if you're a big fan of tacos!

Best tacos in sf! love their birria tacos & when you order more than two you can usually add a side of beans or cactus which is always so good! They have different salsas to choose from with different flavors and spice levels as well.
