Cash only (accepts Venmo/Zelle) food truck on Illinois Street is a no-brainer! Got the super burrito with carnitas and a coke - the perfect grab and go lunch on a hot day. Service was excellent and food came out at lightning speed. First bite was juicy and made even more juicy with the free pico de gallo and salsa verde + free chips. They even have a little shaded seating area under a canopy if you can't wait to eat.

The outside looks sketch, but the food is good! Killer al pastor tacos. They are $4 each and huge. Liked them more than the carnitas ones. Small bag of chips and lovely salsa comes with each order.

About a 10 minute walk from the 22nd st cal train stop in a very industrial, unassuming neighborhood. Ordered the al pastor and pollo (pork and chicken) tacos which was delicious and very flavorful. We should have gotten more! Each order comes with a side of chips and salsa which was a great touch.

Had a super taco with carne asada about 11AM or so. The meat was EXTREMELY well done, dried out and tasteless, likely leftover from the day before. I don't know what the 5 star people are thinking or smoking, as I liken them to nothing but shills. The SF food truck crowd are so disillusioned. They don't realize that their food is likely prepared in a commercial kitchen well south of SF at 4-5AM if not the day before. That's why most SF truck food is wretched, all they do is warm the food up in a microwave or on their flat top grills, the same food that was prepared many hours or days before. Very sad.Anyone remember Richard Tangonan's SASSY KASSY'S in Campbell Industrial Park on Oahu in the late 70's to the early 2000's. He did it right! Most of the food he served was cooked fresh to order right there on his truck. Sure it took a little longer but you could never beat it, it was the best. To this day I can taste his Teriyaki, a recipe of his that I believe is still a family secret. As a side note, I understand Richard and his wife labored for years to put all five of their children through college while operating their food truck. The KEY to real food truck success is to prepare the food as close to serving it as possible, Just ask the folks at La Taqueria on Mission St.People who operate food trucks here aren't that smart, just don't care, or are just plain lazy. Hey, they got your money so s***w you. Next time you order carne asada off a truck ask for it to be cooked MEDIUM RARE, they'll send you to Mars if they could afford it. And be advised, food truck operators don't know what medium rare is. I think it's a cultural thing, in many years past they'd just throw a big chunk of meat into a fire then eat whatever came out. Hey, it's a primal thing but those days are long gone. Unfortunately some people don't change with the times. I hope Flaco takes my comments to heart and changes. Somehow I don't think they will as lazziness is a tough habit to break.Bottom line, AVOID this piece of you know what food truck just like all the rest.Enough said!P.S. RIP Flaco the owl. I would not be writing this if it weren't for him.

Fast and efficient. Loved the taste of the tacos and was quick and fast. Best bang for your buck. Loved the extra chips and salsa on the side too.

This is the best taco truck on the east edge of SF. 100 health score is quite impressive for any food truck! The tacos and the super tacos are delicious and affordable. I usually order carnitas, but there are several other meat options that are also popular! The tacos are served with a little bag of chips, and the salsa verde is sensational. I like to grab an order to-go to take down the street to Speakeasy Ales & Lagers. Tacos + beer is perfection.

Tacos El Flaco, this place is awesome and one of the many hidden gems of food trucks in San Francisco. The meat is tender and juicy, in portion control a spot on!It looks like they got at 100% Health score but in 2016, also I wish they regularly carried chips, they do have Doritos and lays but that doesn't count. Also they are cash only! But somehow they get a 4 stars from me due to the amazing flavor of their burritos!

Had been meaning to swing by this truck as I work close by on Illinois St. What a GREAT decision that was. These tacos are hefty, one was all I needed, and for $3 in SF?!?! Come on. Al pastor with the usual and of course green sauce to go with. The meat was cut up in larger bites and it wasn't full of fatty pieces. Way to go Tacos El Flaco, I'll be back for more. And parking is easy here.
