Hidden gem in the Embarcadero. Love the teriyaki salmon! Good price for a great lunch.

Affordable and yummy hidden gem in Embarcadero! They're only opened for lunch with hours set from 11:30 AM - 3:30 PM. Most people do takeout but there is a small dine-in area. There are a lot of low reviews but personally, I've had normal experiences with the servers and they're super fast with the whole process. There's usually two people holding the place down: one making the food and one cashier and still no line. My friend and I ordered the $18.75 Sushi Premium (8 piece sushi combination and roll with salad and miso soup) but they actually gave us 6 pieces of nigiri with 5-piece-roll. Though they falsely advertised, I was still pretty happy with the meal since it was big pieces and fresh as can be for a small takeout place. Overall, a good lunch spot and I would come again!

Disappointing Visit to Sushi KintaI strive to write objective reviews based on facts and common concerns, avoiding negativity solely based on personal preferences. With that in mind, here's my recent experience at Sushi Kinta.I stopped by Sushi Kinta for a late lunch after an off-site visit. Having had a positive experience there a few years ago, I expected a similar positive experience. They seem to have transitioned to take-out service only. The woman who took my order was friendly and welcoming. I opted for the Lunch Deluxe Box, which includes chicken teriyaki on top of white rice, shrimp and vegetable tempura, four pieces of California roll, and miso soup. The cup of soup I started with at the office was good. However, the teriyaki chicken (dark meat, not breast) raised an immediate red flag. The taste was off, and a second piece confirmed my suspicions. I could tell it wasn't fresh! It just didn't taste right. I tried another piece just in case, but it still didn't taste right. I decided to forgo the chicken and move on to the tempura. The vegetable tempura was fine, but the shrimp tempura didn't taste fresh either! The California roll suffered the same fate - it didn't taste fresh! It tasted like it had been sitting in the refrigerator for two or three days.Maybe I caught them on an off day, but this visit fell short. I would be open to returning if any frequent Sushi Kinta patrons here on Yelp believe this was an anomaly.

Really good spot to grab a quick lunch to-go. Although, there is dine in space. I like the location. It's usually well populated, bright, and around a lot of other quick eateries for the busy workers in FiDi. I got the sushi deluxe combo for lunch, which is chefs choice and a cali roll. Everything was delicious. Fish was fresh and really good sized pieces. The California roll was even better than I expected. I will definitely be back.

I think this is such a great place to have in the Embarcadero! Like someone mentioned, this area is surrounded by higher price-point eateries, so the cost of the meals here is amazing. The restaurant used to have indoor seating, but now they just serve the food and take orders through the window. This gives it a literal hole in the wall vibe to the restaurant. I ordered the 49-ers roll which was salmon, cucumber, and avocado topped with more salmon and tobiko. It was about $11.50, which it reasonable. Most items here do not cost more than $15. I came during peak lunch time, but service was quick because the line was not long at all. I think because this place is hidden in an alley in the Embarcadero, not a lot of people know it's here. I will definitely come back to try their bento boxes and more rolls.

Sushi Kinta is a solid choice if you're in the Embarcadero Plaza & looking for a good takeout. Grab one of those outdoor tables and watch the skateboarders.I got the chicken teriyaki lunch box. The California roll was perfect, nice creamy avocado. Impressed that the tempura didn't get soggy after :20 minutes in a closed plastic container. I'm not a fan of the chicken, didn't eat it. Next time I'll stick to the rolls. That's just me, you might like it. The staff is really friendly, and the service is fast. Anyway, they've switched to a takeout only system & next time I'll read all the signs before I order. There are several ways to save some bucks if you order online.

This place is located in the breezeway next to the Hyatt Embarcadero. I came here for dinner at 6pm. The food was fresh and service was quick. The tempura and California roll was yummy. I didn't order sashimi because the weather was too cold. But one of the patrons next to me ordered a 6 pc of the salmon sushi. She said it was really good. I would definitely come back. Prices were very reasonable. My two orders came out to $19.62 and I have enough extra for lunch.

Stale food. Taste old esp the chicken. I went there three times hoping it wasn't the normal quality of food they use. Please don't eat the veggies. Taste like frozen veggies that are steamed. Taste like plastic. The portions are good but I feel bad because I was hoping there was quality in the food. It's good to grab if your in a pinch and hungry but I think you can get sick after eating it. Nice owners but definitely not going back.

I'm both surprised and unsurprised by the harsh reviews. Maybe customers expect more because Sushi Kinta is surrounded by expensive restaurants in the Embarcadero Center, but its prices, interior, and menu items clearly suggest it's a low-key, immigrant, and family-owned place. You come here for a quick lunch if you're craving sushi, not for top quality sashimi. I ordered the Maki Mono Combo which was $15. I sat inside to eat, but the door was busted. You have to pull it really hard (and once it opens, it doesn't naturally shut behind you). Hopefully the restaurant fixes this soon. The workers at the counter seemed really busy. There were constantly people coming in with takeout orders. They'd yell asking what you want, and maybe this could come off aggressively(?) toward some, but they always said thank you and seemed kind in my opinion. I wouldn't be discouraged from coming here if you're craving some basic rolls. I was in and out in 25 minutes for a weekday lunch.

I ordered from Uber Eats on Monday to deliver at my work place in San Francisco. I got the order. well packaged and sealed. really nice packaging. however, to my surprise, when I opened my sashimi combo ($34) container, it was smelly like really bad and it was slimy. I even ate two of the sashimi and I was all grossed out. it didn't taste as fresh fish should taste and it was really bad. I don't want to think I had a bad stomach ache the next day because of the sashimi but it seems like it was. I had freaking diarrhea. I ordered from them because a friend recommended it. never again :( I couldn't even get a refund because uber eats has 48 hours window.
