I come here for their durian cake and order a whole one for special occasions. They are pricey however it was worth it. I recently ordered one and the quality of the cake went down. There was hardly any durian and the taste expired the very next day. So disappointed. The cake was obviously not fresh like it used to be. Their other pastries are ok for the prices they charge as well. Just not the same.

I can't figure out the name because it sounds like the weather girl at a local TV station. Not like the ones that sang about it raining men. No, I picture a blonde in front of a green screen motioning a cold front in the wrong direction. But no, this is one of those tray-and-tongs Chinese bakeries that make it way too convenient for you to get one of everything. It's a tight space which makes social distancing a problem, especially from the people apparently feeding an army.I just couldn't help myself and grabbed the $2 Milk Cakes and the $1.60 Coconut Tart. The two bucks gets you two cakes which were a spongey vanilla treat with just a slight browning on top to remind you it came from an oven (photo: https://bit.ly/2VxuErh). The tart was a more fully baked creation with just the right amount of coconut and the requisite maraschino cherry embedded on top (photo: https://bit.ly/2VBxThy). As Sunny Wheatfield herself would say, "Fair and warmer!"BAKED GOODS - 4 stars...delectable treats, not overly sweetAMBIANCE - 3.5 stars...well organized and maintained but decidedly crowdedSERVICE - 3 stars...decidedly surlyTOTAL - 4 stars...the weather girl is singing about raining desserts RELATED - Exploring the Sunset? Sadly, I had to give it a 3/5 because I found a fly inside the bag of my pineapple bun. However, I do want to reflect on the positive sides of this business first.I ordered 2 egg tarts, 2 pineapple buns, 2 cheesecakes, 1 cocktail bun, 1 cocktail bun with custard, and 1 pork sung bun.The first bun I had was actually the cheesecake. It was light and delicate. It's definitely not the Western style. I also tried the cocktail bun with custard filling. This is good for someone who has a sweet tooth. Otherwise, you'd think it'd be really sweet. I personally liked the egg tarts too because I'm really picky about the crust, which I thought it was fine.Price: a bit more on the pricier side in my opinion. It's also cash only for this business! Now back to the fly in my pineapple bun story:As for the other buns, I was planning to try the pineapple bun next until I saw one of them had a fly inside. I didn't notice earlier in the bakery since everything was bagged up and placed in a box, but when I got home, I literally got so disgusted. I immediately tied the bag up so that it wouldn't infect the other buns I bought. I was really disappointed because I love pineapple buns and wanted to give a genuine review. After spotting the fly, I inspected the other buns and they didn't have any. Also, most of these buns were bagged and not sealed (except for the pork sung bun from my purchase) and customers have to pick and choose their buns so my advice would be to literally be careful with which bun you're choosing or you'd end up unlucky like me and having to throw away a perfect pineapple bun. Now, I'm not going to bash on this business, but I do hope my review gets the business owner's attention about this serious manner.

I come here for the cakes and pastries (for bread, I prefer Pineapple King and ShengKee, depending on what exactly I want).A recent standout has been the durian crepe cake, which is made in the mille crepe style albeit not with as many layers as the fancier ones you'd find that cost twice as much. For $6, I thought this cake was amazing--creamy and literally bursting with sweet custardy durian with each bite! They sell a mango version too but that one tasted more like a their typical white cake with fruit to me (you can't really taste the layers which I think is the point of the mille crepe cake). As for their other cakes, I look forward to buying them for special occasions as I think their fruit designs are especially beautiful and festive. The other pastries sold here are also pretty good, notably the egg tarts. I'm a fan of their taro and egg yolk pastries too--flaky, buttery, and delicious!

Cute (they have wagon cart displays for their baked goods!), clean, and modern place with regular Chinese bakery options along with some newer, fusion-y ones like the Black Sesame Walnut bun.We bought a variety of items like the Taro Pastries (pretty, but didn't love the filling), Walnut Tarts (decent), and Egg Custard Tarts (good), but the Black Sesame Walnut bun was the one that really stood out. The one we bought was piping hot and ridiculously delicious with a great nutty / sesame taste swirled throughout the bun. Will definitely be back for the sesame bun!

Even with a language barrier I thought I would be able to order a cake the way I wanted. Apparently not. I ordered my mom a strawberry cake plus mango flowers on top. Paid an extra $8 for mango because I wanted my moms cake to be extra pretty. When I arrived to pick up the cake it was a regular strawberry cake with no mangos. #sosadThe cake was fluffy and whip cream wasn't too sweet. I'd order again but wouldn't get too complicated with specifications. The durian crepe cake is a must if you like durian ;)

This place has the worse customer service ever. The cashier person needs to bag individual bread. Most of the time, the cashier don't give a shit of people waiting and keep bagging bread. I came in at 8:15 am to ask for milk tea and the lady was so rude and said too early to make milk tea. She said the bread cost $2. Then i put my two dollars on the counter and walked away. I will never want to go back there again treating me like a beggar.

My parents and I have been going here for years and we've come back each time because the bread is decently good. However, today, we walked in and my mom asked the sales associate a question about packaging to which the associate answered with a lot of attitude and already raising her voice. I kind of brushed it off because maybe the associate was having a bad day. My mom later dropped a tong on the floor and the associate scolded my mom and proceeded to place the tongs BACK to its original place WITHOUT any kind of cleaning. If I remember correctly, she said, "Just put the tongs back so other customers to use it" in Chinese. Red flags immediately. My mom confronted her and the associate ignored her and none of the other employees there said anything. Angry and disappointed because of how my mom was treated in those few minutes, we walked out. I am all for supporting small businesses, but this is definitely not okay. I wouldn't have made such a negative review had health regulations at this bakery been compromised. It is one thing to yell at customers (already bad), but this store is selling food and putting customer's health and its cleanliness at risk. I will not come back knowing that this is the type of behavior the bakery tolerates.

I stopped by on a whim as they were closing and from the slim pickings left after being open all day on a Sunday, I chose a Red bean bun (4.5 stars!). This was crazy soft and lightly sweet. A great dessert you can grab if you're in the neighborhood!
