When shopping on Stockton Street, it's often difficult to distinguish one store from the next. Trust me, the neighborhood locals know the difference. This store sits close to the border between Chinatown and North Beach and is next to Walgreens to the north. For several years, I was buying a particular brand of pumpkin seeds from Taiwan for a friend. For convenience sake, I'd sometimes buy them at 99 and learned that the prices were considerably higher there. This was my go-to spot through 2019 when all heck broke loose in 2020 and imported goods were and weren't on the shelves at any particular time. I found another place closer to where I park my car and found their prices were identical and the walk to the destination was a lot closer. Their high volume items are the sidewalk displayed ones, many of which are sale items ranging from cookies to instant noodles and fried cooking goods. The senior lady is kind and efficient if you ask her about things that you cannot locate in the store. If you don't speak English, I highly suggest bringing a box or the actual item from home that you are seeking.

Just like the Pang Kee Bargain Market!!! Sun Kau Shing Company is another store that I enjoy going to as a local and living in the City Of San Francisco Ca for so many years... This is the one store that I have been going to for years and years as kid teenager adult and still today this Sun Kau Shing Company is still here!!!I still go to this Sun Kau Shing Company when shopping with my parents and my auntie & with my late grandma... The things that I remember most about this Sun Kau Shing Company in the past!!! Is when the Chinese New Year comes around we would buy all kinds of goodies like Biscuit Cookies Beef Jerkey and all kinds of candles for gifts to give to our family relatives in the past!!! And we still do it today!!! And another reason is why... I like coming to this Sun Kau Shing Company!!! Is when the Moon Cake Day comes around we usually buy the Big Box of Moon Cake!!! And for myself, I like to buy the Mini Size Box that has one Moon Cake in it!!!This Sun Kau Shing Market is not only good for us!!! It's also good for tourist that comes from another city and Us State or another country... This store is a really good place to buy items... That are not to expensive!!! But some things are not cheap it all depends on what you buy!!!

This is the place for every Chinese dry good you could ever need at great prices. They have Pork Sung for half the price that Amazon sells them for. For anyone who lives far away from the Asian super markets in Richmond/Sunset/Daly City and doesn't want to pay Nijiya prices, this is a godsend. Cash only!!!

A 50 lb Milagrosa extra super quality jasmine rice is $43. Pulled up car and they have a helper that ran up to my car and took care of putting the sack of rice into my vehicle and grab my money then returned with change and a receipt. Great Curbside Service!

Sun Kau Shing is one of two large stores on the block that sells all your Chinese/Asian foodstuffs. The outside of the store has a huge display of cookies, candies, beverages, dried noodles, and more. In the store, there are aisles of snacks, sweets, cookies, condiments, spices, sauces, can goods, teas, countless dried foodstuffs and various frozen items. I usually get my 50 lb sack of rice from here. But on my last visit, they had a sale on Lee Kum Kee premium oyster sauce for $3.29 for the 18 oz bottle. Couldn't help in grabbing several bottles at this great price. Overall, a good one-stop shop for all your Asian snacks, condiments and foodstuffs. As with many stores in Chinatown, the aisles are narrow and can be impassable if the store is crowded.

I got a rude experience today from an old lady (who I would assume is the owner). While I was getting my change, I told her to keep the coins and just give me cash. She then got offended saying "All men are shit. Men always complain. " (in Chinese and I understand chinese). I will never shop here anymore. I also noticed that only women shops in there too.

I think I've died and gone to snack heaven.I always suspected this was a great store. Just looking at it from the outside told me so. Crackers, cookies and jellies bursting through the seams of the storefront and sitting on stands outside, their colorful packaging calling out to hungry passersby.I finally went inside just a few days ago and all I could do for the first 5 minutes was wander up and down the aisles with my mouth agape. What started as an errand to pick up tea turned into a full-blown cookiepalooza, and I don't even have a sweet tooth. That's how enticing this store is. The sheer volume of packaged goodies and condiments boggles the mind. How DO they fit all that stuff in there? The ultra-slim aisles help. At times I had to scoot my big ass through sideways. Forget about passing someone...it's like an old highway where the person closest to the last turnout has to back up.My jasmine tea? A box of 100 bags for $2.49. That's 2 1/2 cents per bag. Beat THAT, Safeway!

I had a different experience than the guy name Daniel Z but this place doen't honor or value their customers. One time I was just taking my kids into the store and they were just deciding on what they want the nthe Old lady behind the counter said "Hey are you going to buy something or not? Get out" in Chinese to me. This place is rude and. Isee why not many people shop here unlike other places around Chinatown. There is this one store that tries to cheat you out of your money too which is next to a hotel on Broadway. Other places gives you really old bills as change like it has been printed in 1901 or something.
