I came slighly before closing and there was no line. I ordered at the register and then proceeded to wait outside for my order. They have a pick up window that makes it easy to grab your drinks once they're ready. The cashier was super friendly. I ordered the strawberry matcha latte and an iced matcha latte. The drinks were not too sweet, which I love. They also offer desserts and full on meals but the price point for me was a little much. Overall, delicious drinks and I absolutely devoured it. Would definitely be returning if ever in the area.

Stone Mill Matcha is a cozy, peaceful spot in the Mission, perfect for matcha lovers. Their drinks are smooth and well-balanced, whether you go for a simple whisked matcha or a creamy matcha latte. The pastries are just as good.It can get busy and take out can be a wait but the vibe is calm, and the staff is friendly. Prices are a bit high, but the quality makes it worth it. If you're into matcha, this place is a must-visit!

Charming cafe located in the mission area of SF! If you are a matcha fan, this is the place for you. They have yummy desserts and drinks all based around matcha. We tried the hand whisk matcha. It had a strong earth taste that paired well with the sweetener. You bite and coat your palette and then drink. The cold brew matcha was great as well. Again, strong earth taste but there are sweeteners and syrups to help give it that kick you may want.

Great matcha here. Definitely gets busy here if you are planning on dining in. I had the hojicha strawberry latte, I loved the strawberry flavoring and the hojicha was nice as well. I also had the souffle cheesecake which was nice and fluffy.

This review is specifically for the iced lattesHonestly, I came here because of the hype without checking the more recent reviews since we were on a time crunch. Unfortunately, the matcha drinks were a huge disappointment and I wouldn't recommend coming here for good quality drinks.I got the Rose Matcha Latte and the Hojicha Latte to go. The staff were super nice while ordering, but the drinks just weren't great. They tasted really watered down, even though we had them immediately. This was after adding an extra shot of matcha for an additional dollar, yet it still didn't taste strong. The Hojicha Latte tasted better despite not having the extra shot. Also, I don't know if you can see in the photos, but the drinks were grainy. I'm not sure if that's from the matcha quality or the whisking, but it was definitely noticeable when drinking them. Honestly, a huge letdown because I had heard a lot of positive things about this place before their announcement to close. I'm reading now that they may have switched management, though I can't say how it compares to their matcha quality previously. Can't say much about the food or ambience since we did not dine in but I definitely wouldn't recommend coming here for drinks, especially when there are plenty of better spots like the ones in SF and Japantown.

Met up with an old coworker for lunch on MLK Monday. Even though the line was very long, it moved by relatively quickly (~20 minute wait). After ordering at the register, we received a number and were led to a table. We received our food first and drinks after. My order:Rose Matcha Latte ($6.25): +Drinkable temperature: Hot, but doesn't burn your mouth/tongue+Creamy matcha with fragrant rose flavor throughout+Rose petals on top were an aesthetic touch.-Latte art was a bit sloppyMatchazuke ($18.00): *Originally, I wanted to order the Japanese Gozen but they were out around 1:30pm. I decided to reorder this since I remember it being delicious during my previous visit. I was disappointed...+White rice was fluffy and the roasted popped rice added crunch-Salmon tasted fishy and salty.-Matcha dashi broth was salty, and the container was hard to hold and pour since it was very hot.Other items I've tried (previous ownership):+Yuzu Meringue Tart-Ginger Matcha LatteSide notes:1.) 3% SF Mandate2.) 60-minute time limit for dine-in: Both of us ordered food and drinks and felt it was enough time to eat and talk.3.) Self-serve water4.) Walking distance from MUNI 22 bus stop*Verdict: It was my first time back since they reopened with new ownership, and I thought it was just okay. There's a smaller selection of pastries now but more lunch items. I wouldn't go out of my way, but if I was in the area on a weekday I'd drop by for the Japanese Gozen.

I really enjoy the matcha here, but I would definitely recommend getting food here. Their pork katsu sando is delicious, and their matchazuke (salmon rice with broth) is a great way to start the morning with a light but filling meal. I want to try their Japanese gozen meal but they only have it on weekdays.Their matcha is good, not that sweet. I've gotten their ginger matcha latte which is pretty gingery so I would only recommend if you really like ginger. Otherwise I'd say get the strawberry matcha latte. The inside has seating for maybe 10-12 small groups? It was tough to fit our group of 6. Also they require the entire party to be there before they seat you, and they're polite but pretty firm about it. I can see it being tough to pop in casually on a weekend since it gets so busy which is a slight deterrent. I personally would rather get there at opening time to avoid a wait.

I came here around 11 am on a Tuesday while visiting San Francisco. The cafe is very cute, with a minimalist atmosphere. I just ordered a matcha latte to have here. Service was friendly. The matcha was good, but I found the flavor a little weak, with the taste of the milk overpowering it. The ambiance here is minimal and cozy, but it's definitely not a place where you can sit and linger for hours to read or work- they have signs on the tables noting a 30 minute limit for drinks only, and a 1 hour limit if you've ordered food. If I lived in the area, I might come back sometimes, but don't think this is a place worth going out of the way for.

Ordered for delivery during weekday lunch. Chicken katsu sandwich and strawberry hojicha latte. About a 15 min drive for delivery. Overall very solid delivery option and convenient if you wanna bypass any lines that they can sometimes have. When I opened up the sandwich, it held up well during transit. Inside of sandwich didn't bleed into the bread so the bread was still great in flavor and texture without becoming moist or anything. Came with three sandwich halves that pleasantly surprised me. Chicken was still juicy with crisp. Overall a well balanced sandwich that elt pretty clean to eat. Strawberry hojicha latte was really enjoyable. Usually I opted for a regular strawberry matcha latte but I really enjoyed the roasted flavor of hojicha which added another level of complexity when paired with the strawberry. Also, even as a cold drink, the roasted flavor felt more comforting with the cooler, rainier weather.

Stonemill Matcha is very reminiscent of being in a cafe in Japan. We finally made time to stop by (hardly ever in the city anymore) and tried the iced hojicha latte, hojicha mizudashi, and a matcha white chocolate cookie. All great choices! Would definitely coming back to try their strawberry matcha latte. Parking sucks as it is street parking along Valencia Street and its vicinity. If you order to go, you place your order at the register and wait outside for it.
