The best Mochi in the bay area!If you want soft mochi with great flavors, take the time to make an order. Pick up was easy even when I changed my order last minute to a couple dozen more. I want to try delivery next time but when you trying to impress a woman, you will drive around the world and back.Signature flavor is the peanut butter, you must try it!

Simply Mochi is the freshest mochi I've ever had in my life. At first, I couldn't understand why our SF preschool fundraiser historically ordered from San Mateo, yet upon tasting the gems made by Linda & her amazing team, I realized why we'd gone far and wide to search for these treasures. These tiny, fresh mochi were more flavorful and filled than all larger, store bought mochi with thicker, dryer skins. Highly recommend! Thank you Linda for all your care and coordination in this process!

This mochi is good for very large gatherings. The small mochi is very small, like the size of my thumb. It is also very basic. Red bean paste is dominant and they rely on a variety of different types of fillings for the variation. They have many traditional Taiwanese style fillings that are not found in Japan. It is important to note that this is a "mochi" shop and not a "manju" shop. So the creative exteriors and different styles of wraps found in a manju store are not available. It is straightforward mochi. The soft rice dough covering. The colors can vary but it is only color. The flavor comes from the fillings. The mochi texture is chewier than a classic manju as well. It is more similar to Chinese or Taiwanese style than to traditional Japanese style which is much softer in the confection. The mochi here is also less sweet, which is the best compliment one can give any Asian confection. The bottom line is that this mochi is very basic. The colors are very subtle. The whites almost look gray which is more natural. I don't think the average American person would complain or know the difference. A Japanese person would not complain but would probably look for a different Manju store if they were serving it. The service is outstanding and the person taking orders. Is very nice and friendly. Please know that the product is also quite expensive, which is understandable because it is not bulk made with machines. It is all hand made.

Simply Mochi has become a financial district favorite of mines as a pick me up for something sweet during the week. I've come across Linda's stand about three times and two out of the three I've left the stand with a 6 pack! Mochi flavors here are unique; they might be a bit weird at first but trust me they are so worth it! For $2 a pop (or on a 6 pack get $1 off) , it's definitely a bit of a splurge but totally giving a chance. I love the strawberry/chocolate, black sesame, lemon curd, green tea cheesecake, almond pudding and coconut/haupia flavors. To be honest, you can't go wrong with any of the flavors but these are just a few that I find to be my go-tos.Be a part of her mailing list! Not only you will know where her stand will be next but also you can preorder which i highly recommend.

The minion word for "kiss" is "muak."And that's what these mochi pieces taste like to me. If a kiss could morph into food form it would be as this mochi.Delicate, soft, and oh yes, tasty. My coworker told me about this place and I didn't believe her since I generally don't like mochi. Not even when I was in Japan did I like it.I didn't think mochi was my thing....until now.Simply Mochi's coconut mochi is the bomb. Like eating a coconut cloud. Their green tea was good too, and if you're a peanut butter then their peanut butter is the real deal.I liked them so much that I just placed a $40 order for more. And yes, I'll be eating the while thing like it was popcorn or something.Nom, nom, nom.

Why Linda has anything less than 5 stars blows my mind.I met Linda back when she was at the Ferry Building on Thursdays (boy do I miss those days...). She is the sweetest person who happens to make the BEST mochi. I.AM.OBSESSED. How obsessed? SO obsessed I asked Linda to cater our wedding in Napa. It is super out of her way, but she made it happen! It was extremely hard to pick just a few of her amazing flavors, but we narrowed it down to just...7. If I had my way, we would have had all the flavors. Her mochi is fresh, chewy, flavorful and the perfect size! From the strawberry nutella (with real strawberry) to the PBJ to the black sesame, I am in love with all the flavors and could eat 10 of them anytime any day. You are a gem, Linda!

My then fiance and I wanted local desserts for our SF wedding. We defrosted frozen Simply Mochi from Bi-Rite and they were delicious. We then decided to order a few dozen fresh mochi for our wedding (matcha green tea cheesecake, haupia, s'mores, and strawberry red bean). Linda was responsive to the emails and delivered the mochis to our venue. They were a hit at the dessert bar! We were able to taste one of each flavor and they were all amazing! Our favorite was the strawberry red bean. Thank you so much!!

Mochi is found at your neighborhood Bi-Rite in SF. I was skeptical at first because when I walked into bi-rite I didn't see it on any of the shelves. The staff informed me that they're located in the freezer section by the ice cream. Bought 2 boxes and they were delicious. Instructions state "4 hours to thaw." Just be mindful when to do purchase them. They thawed really nicely and was ready for consumption.

I am so grateful to have found Simply Mochi for my birthday in early January when all other Japanese mochi places are closed for the New Year. Linda was responsive and easy to work with. Her flavors are unique and pan-Asian. However, I was SHOCKED how tiny the mochi are. They are less than half of what I get from other mochi stores. They were probably a tad bigger than the size of my thumb. Yep. For $2 each, I expected a normal sized mochi. That is my main disappointment. Otherwise they were tasty and fresh.
