My friends and I spotted this shop when we were wandering around the downtown San Mateo area and decided to check it out! Orders are placed through self-service kiosks, which have descriptions of each drink. I got the coconut grass jelly milk tea at 50% sugar. Loved how many toppings there were in this drink!! The coconut flavor was refreshing and the drink was still plenty sweet even with half sugar. Service was quick and drinks came out in ~5 min. There's metered parking spots outside but parking can be challenging during busy hours.

Saw this boba shop as I was walking around with some friends. The place looked popular and busy. Stopped in and my order was the peach mochi oolong milk tea. Got it with 50% sweetness and less ice. It already came with fresh peach bits, and sippable mochi. I liked that the mochi wasn't difficult to slurp through the straw. I've been to other places where it's so difficult that the mochi congeals and gets stuck in the straw. Their mochi was fluffy like a marshmallow. Loved the refreshing fresh peach fruit added as part of the drink. Found the drink too be refreshing after lunch but it was still too sweet for my liking. Next time, I'll try 0% sweetness since all the toppings that come with the drink are all sweet to begin with. They have a large menu with a few new specials right now. When I'm in the area next time, I know where I'm getting my milk tea fix!

6/10Got the brown sugar milk tea with grass jelly and taro balls. At 25% sugar, the sweetness was still insufferable. The taro balls were also too hard and didn't taste like taro. I couldn't finish itMy friend got the peach mochi oolong milk tea. The mochi was tasty and the drink had real peach chunks in it.I would not go back

I've come here a few times and it's one of my go tos in downtown San Mateo.I haven't tried many of their drinks so far but the ones I have tried I like a lot. The tea base is pretty good. If you're a toppings person, this is the place for you. Anything in their signature grass jelly section is great. I especially like their brown sugar and taro balls one. I get my drinks 50% sugar and that's a good level for me.

Big fan of the place especially lots of toppings and pretty unique boba and drinks. There is however not that much seating so maybe go with a smaller group. They have some pretty nice festive holiday decor and they also have some holiday drinks (big fan of the coconut ones also!) which is fun. I really like that. They have grass, jelly and a rotating cost of seasonal drinks which I can't find in other places. The drink comes out pretty fast, usually in under 10 minutes or so and it's a great place. Kind of like coffee where you can just chat with friends when we saw a group two or three groups. Actually just like chatting, drinking tea. I think I also really like the variety of toppingsBeen to Shuyi a few times now usuallly to hangout with friends, and it's sometimes become one of my go-to boba spots (especially if i'm looking for less commonly found toppings like great grass jelly!) and really when that sweet tooth hits after dinner. I love that they've always got these fun seasonal drinks usually with fruit from the season and they had this coconut one during the holidays that was right up my alley. What really gets me though, is the toppings. They really put a ton of toppings (and there's a high topping-to-drink ratio i've found compared to some other places), so something to be wary of when trying to drink your drink. in addition the things run a bit sweet here so i tend to get a lower (0% or 30%) sweetness usually, especially since there's so many toppings.Service-wise, they're quick. Like, I don't think I've ever waited more than 10 minutes, even when they're busy, which can sometimes happen especially when the weather is nice. I've ordered online a couple times too, and that's always been smooth, and I'd also check on Fantuan/Yelp because there's sometimes discounts. They've got some tables, but it's not huge, so groups proably have to be under 10 people, though it's still a good catch-up-with-a-friend kind of spot. Plus, they recently had some festive holiday decorations up, which added to the ambience.I'd probably say if you're really into the tea by itself, this might not be what you're looking for (rather a teahouse, or Asha, or Chicha San Chen) may be better, as the tea is pretty off-the-shelf similar to tea bags. I'd suggest going here mostly for the toppings and the grass jelly and coconut or brown-rice based drinks.

Tried this out for the first time and it was alright. We got their signature grass jelly milk tea and it was probably the best drink out of the others our friends ordered too. However, this is one of the more unique drinks we've seen at boba stores. Overall a nice vibe in the store with some seating too.

I have never been a fan of grass jelly but since trying the brown sugar milk tea with grass jelly and taro balls my husband got my mind has changed. Would highly recommend! We also tried their peach oolong milk tea with mochi which was still way too sweet for me at 50%, the jasmine milk tea, and signature grass jelly milk tea. The signature milk tea was more of a dessert than a drink imo with the amount of stuff in it.

This has quickly worked its way up to my list of go-to boba places. I usually alternate between the Mashed Taro & Taro Balls Mochi Milk Tea, Mango Pomelo Sago, and Passion Fruit and Mango Ice Tea.The toppings-to-drink ratio is higher here than at other boba places and the drinks can lean towards the sweeter side, but this works out perfectly for me because I love the toppings and I have a sweet tooth. If you want to avoid getting a drink that's too sweet for you, make sure to read the drink descriptions on the order kiosk/website for recommendations on the sugar level. For example, I usually get 50-75% sugar at other boba places, but I like the recommended 30% sugar for the Mashed Taro & Taro Balls Mochi Milk Tea.The service has always been super fast when I've gone, and I appreciate the online ordering option. The store has multiple tables that are perfect for enjoying a sweet treat with friends after a dinner out. There's metered street parking in front and the Central Parking Garage around the corner.

Drinks were good. Tried the brown sugar bubble drinks and a watermelon tea. A few of the bobas were a little hard but overall liked the drinks. All were little sugar 30% which was perfect for us. They have seating inside. Here on a Saturday afternoon and there was no line or anyone sitting inside. Parking can be a challenge. Check in on yelp before you order. I was waiting for my drinks and checked in and missed out a 20% off. I asked but there was nothing they could do since I already paid.
