Great for dinner dates, office parties, or if you just want to experience top-tier food. Their Momos are a must try! Every dish we ordered was A HIT (lamb biryani, coconut fish curry, chicken chow mein, Momos) ‐ you can have them dial down/up the spice level too. They have a number of dishes for many dietary needs: gluten free, vegetarian, vegan, are marked on their online menu; there are also pescatarian dishes and staff stated their meats are halal for those interested. The staff are extremely courteous and helpful in attending to us, even before needing anything. Situated on Clement Street this is a great spot to walk around after your meal too. Staff informed us they are fairly new, which was a surprise given how well run Sewa is, from the experience prepared by the kitchen crew to the service from waiting staff. Look forward to coming back again soon.

Super hungry & looking for a yummy Indian fix, we took Yelp advice & made a huge order at Sewa. Surpassing all expectations we were over the moon with our choices!Veggie momo was delightfully dumpling-ie and flavorful with a pumpkin like sauce all overCurries were spicy and flavors were spot on. Choices included pumpkin, paneer, potatoes and a a mixed veggie with apricot. Cannot say which was the fave because they were all so delishAnd not being one to pass on naan, we chose the cheese & honey. Wow is all I can say there! Get this. Get everything. You can thank me later!

Sewa is a lovely spot in the Inner Richmond - that serves delicious Nepalese and Indian food. My mom was visiting and after a beautiful stroll in the neighborhood, we were ready for a cozy place to sit, eat, and talk.Sewa was the first spot that we spied and both my mom and I were eager to try it. From the moment we entered, we were kindly greeted by gracious and welcoming staff. The place was decorated well and clean. We were the only ones there - being that it was fairly early on a Sunday afternoon. The staff were quick to bring out some complimentary papadam with three dipping sauces. Sewa's menu is extensive - so I'd recommend taking your time reviewing it. Judging by reviews - it sounds like their naan and momos are popular items. I appreciate that they strive to use local and organic greens in many of their menu items. We ordered the coconut chicken curry with a side of rice - which was served promptly in a big serving dish. I had eaten beforehand, so didn't partake, but my mom thorough enjoyed it. It was such a generous portion that we could easily have had leftovers for another meal. They even gave us a darling complimentary rice pudding bowl at the end of the meal.As we dined - we noticed that there were quite a few takeout and delivery orders being prepared - so if you don't live nearby - or feel like dining in - be sure to check them out for delivery. If you do get the opportunity to dine here - I recommend doing so. The staff were kind and attentive- and the place was well maintained and well run. You can often tell a lot about a place by their restroom - and Sewa's bathroom was pristine!Thank you Sewa for a fantastic lunch experience. It was the perfect setting for a special afternoon with my mom.Trust.

This is our new favorite Nepalese places and one of the top restraunts we have had in San franssico. The most recent time we visited we decided to try the vegi chili momos, garlic naan and apricot vegi curry, and mixed vegie curry. The momos and garlic Naan in particular were the best momos and Naan we have had which says a lot since we go to Indian all the time. The momos had a phenomenal texture and taste. The outside was a little crisp and chewy with a great bite to them. The sunset itself looked spicy was a perfect level and balanced out with a semi sweetness that balanced it out well. The vegetables both in the filling and on the dumplings were well cooked and worked well with the sauce. The Naan had bith a phenomenal texture and taste. The garlic and butter were just right and it had a great chewy and fluffy consistency. The apricot curry was also incredible. The sweaters of the apricots paired really well with the slight spice and spices in the space. I usually get malai kofta but this might be my new go to. The vegetable curry was the last one we got and was a great savory choice especially when paired with the Naan. They even gave us some complimentary dessert and starter. The starter was a papadum with three varried sauces. There was a fresh mint dip, sweet mango, and spicy sauce. All three added a nice and unique taste and seemed fresh. The service was incredible as well. From the getgo he walked us through the menu with great recommendations and answered all the questions we had. He was quick with water and always took care of everyone. He also remembered us and we had a great conversation. It sounded like he hit it off with a handful of other customers as well. The music was a great touch as well. It seemed like a fair bit of tropical house which I liked a lot and don't see many places doing. Another small note is that it was nice that they had cardboard straws that held up well. Overall an incredible place that is definitly worth stopping by.

Incredibly impressed with this upscale Indian/Nepalese restaurant; it's very classy from the decor to the staff and ambiance. I'd consider it fine dining. Service was friendly and helpful; they even packed our leftovers for us. And they offered us complimentary flatbread with sauces and some sugar dumplings for dessert. Excellent service. We really enjoyed the chicken vindaloo curry and fish coconut curry. Although the sauce was a bit watered down and not as flavorful as I'd like, the meat was so tender and succulent. I think I'd order even spicier next time (we chose mild to be safe). The mango lassi was delicious and really cut into the unctuousness of the meal. I imagine it'd help with any additional heat of the meals too. Rice portions are very generous, but cost extra.Overall, I'd absolutely come back. Prices were very fair, and it wasn't overly crowded (there's about 12 or so tables, so it's perfect for both quick dates and larger parties).

Glossy Indian restaurant, both the decor and the food. I couldn't resist trying the seafood curry. A light tomato sauce, medium spicy as I had requested, with salmon, large shrimp, and unusually soft and tender calamari. I had basmati rice with. Very tasty stuff. The courteous waiter seemed disappointed that I didn't order anything else like a drink - I relied on the generous water service - but they gave me unasked a pappadum appetizer, fresh made with interesting condiments which they identified twice to make sure I got it down, and a seasoned rice pudding type dessert. The only restaurant of its ethnicity I saw on this stretch of Clement, it attracted for its unusualness, and it was well worth the trouble. I am only sorry that as a solo diner I couldn't do the offerings justice.

I don't often eat nepalese/indian food, but my friend and I decided to try this place for dinner. We ordered the veggie momo, chicken tikka masala, garlic naan, and a fried rice dish. The momos were flavorful and the tikka masala was delicious with the garlic naan. The restaurant is very clean, and replaced the tasty pot. Would recommend!
